Babies don't keep!

Have you ever read or heard this poem?

Babies Don't Keep

I hope my children will look back on today
And see a mother who had time to play.
There will be years for cleaning and cooking
But children grow up while we're not looking.
Dusting and scrubbing can wail 'till tomorrow
For babies grow fast we learn to our sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

I'm not advocating against cleaning your house... I'm just reminding us all to enjoy our children at every stage!!  My "baby" is eleven now!   Too big to rock but I am thankful that he has a tender heart and still love to hug and be hugged lots!!
But, he's growing up and getting new interests... Angry Birds!  I know I am probably one of the about 5 people on the planet who have never played Angry Birds!! :-O  Well, I did play a bit with this spinner card, so maybe there's hope for me!

He loved it!!!   He also liked the Angry Birds shirt and tie from his sisters!

He got cupcakes because the cake I made (tried to make!) overflowed and ended up burning on the bottom of the oven!

For my card...
~paper is all scraps
~Angry Bird designed in Make the Cut and cut on my Cricut
~"Feast of Flesh" font -sentiment computer generated

Thanks for stopping by!!

I totally advocate not cleaning the house...much ;)
LOVE that spinner card - I can see how some people find AB addicting, although I'm not one of them. They sure are cute - I actually love the pigs :)
Happy birthday to your BIG little man!

What fun pictures of your son...he looks so happy! Love your Angry Birds card...I had to show it to my son....

You are right, they grow up way too fast; can't believe mine are 12 (6th grade) and 14 (she is a freshman this year...oh my!). I really don't look forward to being an empty nester....

I think we're startin' a club, here....I've never played, either, lol....but the look on your baby's face in those pics is adorable! Your card is definitely a winner, too...too cute!
That poem brought back memories, Debbie....I stitched that in a wall-hanging for my first baby, when she was expecting her own first baby.....thanks for the memory!

Debbie: I can SO relate. I have chicken pot pie crumbs burning on the bottom of my oven as we speak. LOL
Dinner will be delicious, but the clean-up will not be so much fun.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. It's always so nice to hear from you. Hope his 11th was wonderful. He will look very COOL at church in that Angry Birds tie - and I'm sure he will get A LOT of comments on it. FUN!

Hope you can join us this week at Word Art Wednesday. Have a great week.

Blessings,
Karen

Happy birthday to your baby!! Time really does fly. My baby (aged 10) also loves Angry Birds so I can only imagine how delighted your son was with his card and tie! You did such a great job with the card - and how fabulous to make it a spinner!!
(And I'd happily eat one of those cupcakes!!)
