Goodbye, Doodle Pantry :(

Wow!  2016 is almost over!  I wish you a very blessed 2017!!

Sadly, 2016 is not the only thing almost over... Doodle Pantry is closing it's doors tonight at midnight CST (1 AM EST).  I'm certainly sad to see this happen, but I certainly understand and support Laurie in her decision that her family comes first!!!  I wish her all the best!

While it's sad to see Doodle Pantry close, if you love Laurie's images, now is the day to get them...  she is having a 75% off sale!  That's right... 75% off!!!  But only until the store closes tonight at midnight CST, so HURRY!!!    You need the code FINAL75OFF.
Instructions and details can be found HERE at the Doodle Pantry blog.

That all means that this is my last Doodle Pantry Creative Team post...

This card is a gate fold card very similar to this card.  My DP is Prima DIY Shop.  My image is Doodle Pantry's Old Ship Color Plus.  Everything was edged with chalk, and I added a few adhesive dots.

Be sure to check out all the wonderful images at Doodle Pantry today!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy New Year to you!!

French horn Christmas - TMS #383

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  This week's challenge is our Annual Anything Goes that will last for 2 weeks, so you have lots of time to play along even with all the activities of the season!  There's no sketch, so literally it is anything goes!

I usually try to do a special project for this, but my kitchen flooded in the end of October and though much has been accomplished, we've lived in chaos since then.  My craft time was very limited.  So what could I do?  I used the very first TMS sketch ever!!!  On the blog page, there is a link to many of our earlier sketches.  They are from before I was a DT member so I have not used these.  They're great and I love the first one, so I used it for this card... (Yes, I'm still making Christmas cards!!)

Here's the sketch I used... (Remember this is an anything goes challenge... you do not have to use this sketch!)

Wow, wow, wow, wow!!  We've got an AMAZING prize for this challenge!!  My Sweet Petunia is sponsoring and the winner gets her choice of a Mini MISTI or the full-size MISTI!!!  I have the Mini and I LOVE it!!!

I wish you all a very Merry CHRISTmas and a blessed 2017!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to go check out the creations from the TMS DT...

Caroling - CCC #2

Only ONE WEEK until Christmas!  As this posts, I'm preparing for our church's last performance of "A Christmas Carol"!   This is our 8th year to do it.  My husband is Scrooge. :D  This year, I don't have a part other than playing the piano during scene changes, but am in charge of costumes.   (Did you ever try to convince young boys to put every piece of their costume all in one place?  I assure you... it does not work!!)

This week, we are going Christmas caroling which is one of my favorite things to do at Christmas time!!  We're planning to go this week!!
Today's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges is a photo prompt... children caroling!  (You can see it below.)  I was inspired by the caroling for my card...

I love this Die-Versions Sweet Petites Carolers die!!   I used scraps of 2 grays and a black for my carolers.  My musical DP is First Editions A Christmas Story.  The sentiment is a clear sentiment from Pink and Main, embossed with black embossing powder, then cut with the coordinating die.

Remember that Christmas Card Challenges is now every other week, so you'll have until Dec 28 to play along.  Here's our photo inspiration...

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

I also want to wish you all a very Merry CHRISTmas!!!

Vintage Christmas - TMS #382

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!   I'm still in need of several Christmas cards, so here's another one...

For this card, my paper did most of my work.  It is First Editions "A Christmas Story."  I love the vintage feel to so much of this pad!!  I inked each piece with TH walnut stain distress ink.   My branches are a MS punch.  "Merry" is a Pink and Main die.  "Christmas" is a Momenta clear stamp that I masked so I could just use that word.

Here's our awesome sketch for the week...

Our sponsor is Jennifer Tomasic... a Close to My Heart consultant.

Challenges...
Holly Jolly Christmas #86 - Christmas card or anything but a card (I made a card)
Christmas Cards All Year Round Dec - anything Christmas/holiday
The Merry Christmas Challenge #11 - Christmas trees

A Christmas hello - CCC #1

Happy Sunday to you!!   I've got a simple card for you today...

I forgot to take a pic at an angle that it can be seen, but I used my Wink of Stella marker to put some shimmer on the red lines.  It added a little interest and is very pretty IRL.

My paper is the Paper Studio.  The "bling on a roll" is Recollections.  My sentiment is from Christmas Poems from Flonz.  It is cut using Spellbinders Labels 18.  I inked the edges with some white ink then added a baker's twine bow.

Today, the challenge at Christmas Card Challenges is a word prompt... candy cane.  *Remember the only real rule is that you make a Christmas card.

Our challenge is changing a bit.  We will now be every other week.  The challenge starts at 12 PM EST on Sunday and goes for a week and a half... closing the Wednesday before the next challenge begins.

Thanks so much for stopping and have a blessed day!!

A most merry Christmas - AIMPDC 24

It's December already!!!  Can you believe it??!??  So, of course, I've got a Christmas card for you...

This is actually just one layer plus the mat.  It's from Doodle Pantry's French Horn PDF Card Front Kit.  So quick and easy to put a card together with this set!!  The digi paper, image, sentiment, and "layers" are all ready-made.  (And the card is perfect for mailing!!)  I did want a little extra interest, so I used my Wink of Stella pen on the bow and berries.  It's very pretty IRL though hard to see in pics...

Since today is the first of the month, it's time for Doodle Pantry's Ants in my Pantry Digital Challenge 24!!  Pop over to the blog and play along!  Just remember you MUST use a digital image.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

This week, we're using one of my sketches plus I'm the sponsor!! :)  First, here's my sketch...

Quick recovery

Happy Wednesday to you!   I've got a card for a friend wishing a quick recovery... unfortunately, my making and sending wasn't as quick as it should have been!   But I got it finished, and it's in the mail today!

The friend had surgery, not an accident, but I think he'll enjoy this.   My image and sentiment are Doodle Pantry's Boo-boo Birdie & Ants.  My DP is Graphic 45 Come Away With Me and is distressed with my Distrezz It All.  The image is cut out with Die-Versions Stitched Nesting circles and framed with Spellbinders Classic Circles.  The sentiment is cut with Sizzix Framelits Banners #2.

Christmas Blessings - TMS #379

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

I'm more excited about this card than I have been about a card in a long time.  I've been wanting to try this technique.  Take a look then I'll explain.

See the snow on the tree???  So cool!!   Here's a close up...

Several months ago, I watched this YouTube demonstration of Korin Sutherland (owner of Sweet n Sassy Stamps) making a "moonlit winter wonderland" card.
(You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZT4gG2cgNu0

It is so pretty!!  But I didn't have any tree branch stamps... until now! :)  DRS Designs is our sponsor this week and they graciously provided stamps for the DT.  I chose "Summer's End Tree."
I tried to follow Korin's instructions, but I had trouble getting perfect placing of my stamp, so on that attempt, my tree didn't turn out as nicely as hers did. :/
Another thing happened just a few weeks ago... I was reading a blog and the crafter was raving about her new tool... a MISTI.  I'd never heard of it, so I went looking.  WOW!  But I knew it was beyond my budget.  But... my birthday was last month, and I was given some money as a gift. :)  I looked but could not justify a MISTI but then I saw the Mini MISTI.  I found it for a good price on Amazon and used my birthday money. I LOVE IT!!

Back to my tree...
Following her instructions, I stamped it with Versamark, moved the paper ever so slightly up in the Mini MISTI, stamped with Versafine onyx black, then embossed both with clear embossing powder.  I sponged over the image with TH stormy sky, and because the ink won't stay where it has been clear embossed, the snow on the branches magically appears!  It is soooo pretty IRL!!

Supplies...
~DRS Designs Woven Plaid (made the background paper with it)
~DRS Designs Summer's End Tree
~Memento Rhubarb Stalk
~MS punch
~Sweet n Sassy Christmas Tags clear sentiment
~Clear embossing powder
~Mini MISTI
~TH stormy sky
~TH forest moss
~Spellbinders Delightful Tree (the birds)

As I mentioned, DRS Designs is our sponsor for this week...

And we've got another wonderful sketch for you...

This week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges is a color challenge...

Happy Christmas Star - TMS #378

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

Here's my card...

It has navy, silver, and grays... not easy to take a good pic!  Either the navy looked black or the white was too light.  :/  I used my Wink of Stella brush on the wings, tiny star, and ribbon.  Sooo pretty IRL!!  As I said on Sunday, I'm not really a fan of glitter, but I do love shimmer!!! ;)

My DP is Carta Bella Snow Fun.  All my pieces were cut out using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A and B.  My sentiment is Sweet n Sassy Christmas Tags and cut out with Spellbinders Ribbon Labels.  My image is Happy Christmas Little Star  from All Dressed Up...  our sponsor for this week's challenge...

Pretty poinsettia - CCC #48

Happy Sunday!

Here's my card for today...

Christmas Card Challenges has a word prompt of "glitter" today.

I have to admit that there are 2 things in crafting that you won't see much of on my blog because they are just not me... purple and glitter.  I searched and searched my craft room and only came up with 2 papers with glitter on them.   And I actually do like the one I used!  It's MME Lost & Found.  My flower is Darice Poinsettia die.  I cut it twice to have a fuller flower. The sentiment is Sweet n Sassy Christmas Tags and it's cut out with Spellbinders Ribbon Banners. .

See? It really is glittery!

Challenges...
Winter Wonderland - ribbon/lace and/or Christmas flowers (I obviously chose Christmas flower)
jingle belles JB:16:23 - Mele Kalikimaka (flowers)
Sweet Stampin' Christmas - anything goes
Happy Little Stampers Nov Die Challenge - anything goes with dies

Christmas birdies

Happy Saturday to you!  Today, I'm busy painting my kitchen.  We're hoping and praying that the flooring and cabinets will arrive next week.  We hadn't planned to get a new kitchen this fall, but a couple of weeks ago, the waterline to my dishwasher broke and it flooded.  That meant we've got renovations in the kitchen and family room below it.  It could have been much worse, so I'm very thankful!!  We hooked up a laundry sink for water, the stove and fridge weren't damaged, so we're still eating! :)

Speaking of eating, my kids are already talking about how they are looking forward to Christmas dinner!  And speaking of Christmas, I've got a Christmas card to show you...  [How's that for connecting no kitchen to Christmas cards?? :) ]

My image is Winter Song Birdies from Doodle PantryDoodle Pantry is sponsoring Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge today, so pop over and play along.  The theme is use the color coral.  I know panel behind the image looks orange but it really is coral in real life, I promise!!
My image is cut out with Spellbinders Petite Ovals and Petite Scalloped Ovals. My paper is scraps.  The greenery is MS branch punch.

Challenges...
Whoopsi Daisy Nov - lots of layers
Scrapy Land #53 - anything goes (I used Spellbinders dies)

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Cardinal Christmas - TMS #377

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!   No surprise that I've got another Christmas card for you... I love this one because I love the stamp and die that I used...

My image and sentiment are from Sweet n Sassy Stamps Christmas Joy.  It's cut with the matching die.  I colored it with my Spectrum Noir though the cardinal looks more maroon than red... it's not this bad in real life.  I'm not much of a photographer!! :/
My DP is Dovecraft Winter Blooms.  The back piece is embossed with CB Allegro.  The sentiment is cut out with CottageCutz Stitched Rectangles. Everything was inked with TH tea dye.

Our sponsor this week is Jennifer Tomasic... a Close To My Heart demonstrator.

Here's our wonderful sketch by Jessi... (She's taking a break, and we miss her lots!!)

Spectrum Noir markers
Spellbinders Celebra'tions Pierced Squares

My image is Watermill from Doodle Pantry.  The sentiment is from School Bus.  Our new printer will not take cardstock, [[what kind of printer won't take cardstock??!!??]] so I'm using up what I have already printed.

Joy to the World

I've been making Christmas cards all year long, but still need to get moving and make more.  I have high aspirations... I'd like to be able to send a handmade card to everyone on my list this year.  We'll see!  I'm trying to make most of them flat(ish) so they're good for mailing...  this one might need to be hand delivered. ;)

I used a Hampton Arts rubber stamp, and embossed it with gold embossing powder.  It's cut out with CottageCutz Stitched Rectangles.  My paper is Dovecraft Winter Blooms.  It's a Prima flower, Recollections doily, and the brad, ribbon, and hemp twine are from my stash.
A closer look at the embossing...

Challenges...
Word Art Wednesday #254-255 - anything goes/family friendly
A Snowflake Promise #32 - seasons - it's the Christmas season! ;)
ABC Christmas - v for vertical
Holly Jolly #84 - trees or Christmas tree

It is November 1 and that means it's time for Doodle Pantry's Ants in my Pantry Digital Challenge 23!!  It starts at noon EST.

I actually made a non-Christmas card...

Use a digi and come over and play along with us at AIMPDC 23!!
