Birthday balloons - TMS #365

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  I've got a birthday card to show you this week...

My DP is Pebbles "birthday wishes."  The "balloons" are cut out using a Die-Namics Christmas Ornaments die.  That's called improvising! ;)  My image is Bashful Boo's Balloon from Lacy Sunshine... our sponsor for this week.  It's colored with Spectrum Noir markers and cut out using Spellbinders Celebra'tion Squares.

Christmas in my heart - CCC #36

Good morning to you!  It's time for Christmas Card Challenges!!

This week, our optional challenge is a word prompt... angels.

I'm glad this is "optional"!  As you can see, my card doesn't have any angels on it.  I tried... but what I ended up with was not fit to share. :/  So I had this card ready to share, thankfully!  My paper and sentiment (which is from the paper pad, too) are Graphic 45 Christmas Carol.  (You'll be seeing lots of this in the future!!)

Grad - TMS #364

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!   Yes, I have a grad card even though most graduations are long past.  I am slow sharing this card because I was even slower getting the gift made to go with it.  I embroidered a towel set for a young man heading off to college this fall.  I was going to add a pic below, but he hasn't received it yet, and I think he should see it first! ;)  

Here's the card...

My image is Kidz Graduate Boy Color from Bugaboo.  He's cut out with Spellbinders Petite Ovals.  My DP is K & Co Graduation.  The orange piece is embossed with CB Stars.  It's finished with a "grad" brad for the sentiment. ;)

Love, peace, & joy - CCC #35

Do you realize it is exactly 20 weeks until Christmas??  That's only 140 days!  I am doing my best to have my cards made early, so that in the crazy rush of December, at least I won't have to stress about that!  Christmas Card Challenges #35 begins today... play along and that will help you get your cards done on time, too!

Many of my cards are mailed, so I'm really trying to keep them at least somewhat flat, but I still want them to be pretty.  I think this card fits the bill...

The DP really did most of my work.  My Cuttlebug did the rest! ;)   I used Recollections Winter Frost DP.  The sentiment is a page from that pad, too, and cut out using Spellbinders Scalloped Labels 1 and framed with Spellbinders Labels 1.   The snowflakes are Sweet n Sassy Small Snowflakes dies, and the flourish is CC Designs Winter Wonderland.   The silver paper is so shiny and pretty!!

This week's optional challenge is a photo inspiration... (Remember the only real rule is that you create a Christmas/holiday card.)  The snowflakes inspired me.  I love snow!!!!! ♥

Another month has come and gone, and it is now August.   Wow!  This summer is flying by!  I am thankful that we've been able to have some time to relax and been able to spend time with family and friends!

My image, sentiment, and digi paper are all from Doodle Pantry's Horses 2 and 6.  The sentiment is cut out using Simon Says Stamp Winter Gear die... it's actually a snowboard!  :D  I added some twine, a couple of buttons, and a bit of ribbon from my stash.

Birthday dinosaur

With "dinosaur" in the title, you may have thought this would be a boy's card, but I've got a birthday card for a little girl.  It's a princess dinosaur! :)

It's a Doodle Pantry princess dinosaur.  Doodle Pantry is sponsoring Fab 'n' Funky's challenge this week, so head over and play along.  The theme is tic tac toe.  My card was made with the middle line across... die cut, digi image, flower.

I had a busy weekend!  We had the grad party for my second daughter who graduated from high school this year.  We homeschool, so we do our own grad things.  She didn't want any ceremony, so we just had a BBQ at our home.  We had almost 100 people!  It was so fun!!  I'm also enjoying family who were able to come to be here, so it's been a little crazy at my house!   But I managed to find time to make a thank you card.  (My DD is going to need a lot of them!)

Christmas Blessings - CCC #33

Good morning!  We've had a very hot and humid week, so while I'm enjoying summer, I am also looking forward to winter and Christmas and SNOW!!  ;)  Even though it is a little difficult to think about Christmas in the midst of this kind of weather, I persevered and have a card to show you...

This week's challenge in Christmas Card Challenges, as always, is to make a Christmas/holiday card with an optional color challenge!

I used Recollections Cozy Lodge DP.  My cardinal image is from Sweet n Sassy Stamps "Christmas Joy" and cut with the coordinating die.  I colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I also used Spellbinders Standard Circles and Petite Ovals.  The stripe behind the ribbon is embossed with the Paper Studio Wood Grain EF.  The branches are a MS branch punch.

Happy Christmas - CCC #32

I've got a cute (IMO) card for Christmas Card Challenges to share today...

I love snow!  And I love snowmen!  This cutie is FTHS "Flurry" and the sentiment is from FTHS "Candy Cane for Snowman."  He's cut out with CottageCutz Stitched Rectangles.  My DP is Recollections Cozy Lodge.  The snowflake flourish is CC Designs Winter Wonderland die, and the snowflakes are Sweet 'n Sassy Small Snowflakes dies.  The paper for these has glitter on it and I added some shimmer to the snowflakes on the image with a sparkle gel pen. (If you click on this pic to enlarge it, you can see it a bit better. It is very pretty IRL.)

Purple Christmas

I've got a Christmas card... a purple Christmas card.  If you know me personally, you know that purple is NOT my favorite color!!!  In fact, I've been know to say bad things about purple. :O  If you love it, that's great.  No need to hate me.

Why am I rambling about purple?  Doodle Pantry is sponsoring CraftyHazelnut's Christmas Challenge today and the theme is "purple."  So here's my purple Christmas card...

I know my DP doesn't scream "Christmas," but since I hate don't really care for purple, I don't have much of it in my stash.  My image is Doodle Pantry's Mini Bethlehem.  I used Spellbinders Petite Ovals and Labels 18 to cut the image and frames.  The sketch of this card is one I use often!  It's quick and easy but still looks classy.  (Even using purple! LOL)

Floral thank you

I wanted a masculine thank you.  I tend to struggle with masculine cards.  {{I think it's because I don't have much masculine paper.  Hey!!  Maybe I should go paper shopping!!!}}  I chose my paper and stamp with men in mind, but still am not thrilled with the masculinity of it.  Do you think it's masculine enough looking for a guy?  I hope so because it's going to be sent to one.

Jingle all the way - CCC #31

I hope you're enjoying your patriotic long weekend if you're in Canada or the USA.   I'm a Canadian living in the US, so I celebrate both! ;)

Here's my card for Christmas Card Challenges #31 with snow, beautiful snow!  [That's my Canadian side showing! :) ]

My fun sleigh image is from Doodle Pantry's Charlie Reindeer.   I fussy cut him so that my embossed BG would show.  I used Darice Dots Background and inked it with white ink.  The hills are cut using Memory Box Stitched Landscapes.  The sentiment is cut using CottageCutz Stiched Rectangles.  I wrapped a bit of red fiber (that I've had forever!) around the base.


The challenge is always anything goes Christmas/holiday, but this week's optional photo inspiration is "sleigh"!

Giant poinsettia - TMS #358

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!   We are finally having hot summer weather, and what do I create?  A Christmas card!!! :) 

I printed 3 poinsettias, fussy cut 2, and popped them up for dimension.

My image is Giant Poinsettia from DRS Designs.  My DP is a scrap.  My doily is Recollections, and my ribbon is from my stash and I added a fancy adhesive pearl on the knot.

Here's my card for this week's challenge...

My paper and image are from Graphic 45 "A Christmas Carol."  On the light DP, I used a MS border punch.  The bow is hand-dyed bias tape, and a few adhesive pearls finished it off.
