Fifty - It's only 14 in Scrabble - TMS #722

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I've got a fun birthday card to share this week.  A friend just turned 50, so I used my Scrabble stickers and created this card for her...

My paper is Papertrey Ink Dotty Boscotti and cut out with an unbranded pierced circles.  I honestly can't remember where I got the Scrabble stickers. The other sentiment is computer generated and cut with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.  My flowers are Prima flowers, a MS punch for the branches, and adhesive dots for the centers.

hello - C4G #206

Hello!  I missed the last C4G challenge because my son was getting married, and I had not planned far enough in advance to get all my design team cards made. :/  But the wedding was wonderful!! 

It's again time for a Cardz 4 Galz challenge, and our theme is "cute animals or insects."  Here are my cuties...

My image is a digi stamp that was filed under Beccy's Place images though I could not find it on the current site.  I cut it out with Spellbinders Postage Stamps and layered it on 2 layers of black 110lb cardstock for some dimension without actually framing it.  I cut out many pink and gray hellos to create the hello background after seeing this blog post HERE.

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I've got a card that could be used as a sympathy card or just as a card of encouragement...

It looks gray on my laptop, but the BG panel is actually a cream that matches the flowers in the DP, which was a scrap.  The sentiment was in my box of extras, and sorry, I didn't take time to look through all my sentiments to find where it's from.   I just framed it and added a fussy cut flower.

Magnificent birthday - TMS #720

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  

I missed last week's challenge because my son just got married!!  Lots of prep before the big day, lots of friends and family visiting, and a wonderful, beautiful wedding!  So my son is now married and my house is now empty of company.  It was a beautiful wedding, and the newlyweds are happy in the start of their new life together!   It was so wonderful to have family and friends here, but now they're gone and I'm sad, so I had to make a card that would bring a smile.  This is for a friend with a good sense of humor! ;) 

My sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy Stamps Birthday Greetings.  My DP is the Paper Studio Poetic Postage.  The black panel is embossed with Darice Crackle.  The sentiments were stamped on a scrap from Heidi Grace Daydream.  I colored some adhesive dots to match.

Congratulations on your adoption - TMS #718

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  This will be short and sweet as my son is getting married on Saturday!!!  I wasn't sure that I was going to get a card made for this week, but I was able to find a couple of minutes to make this card for some friends whose adoption will be final on Thursday!  What a blessing!  They waited so long for a baby and have made it through the 6 month (plus) waiting period.  

I've had the sentiment ready and waiting for all the months of waiting. :)  It is from Honey Bee Stamps Woodland Babies.  My stitched cow is from Cheapo Dies.  The paper is AC My Baby.

Have a sweet Christmas - SCC #151

 It's August 1 and time for a new challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!  Our theme this month in "Christmas food."  (Though after my card was all together, I did question if a gingerbread house is really food.  :D While some are edible, many taste like eating concrete!  I will tell you that we ate the last one that my daughter made.  We definitely ate all the candy decorations off of it. LOL)

My image and sentiment are from my overfull box of digi images that I printed a few years ago and am still using up!  It's Doodle Pantry, I think.  Both panels are cut with Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles. The sentiment is cut with a stitched banner.  I thought it all looked a little too bare, so I added a few red adhesive dots.

Peony birthday - C4G #204

 It's time for our new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz.  Our theme is "P is for..." (Anything that starts with the letter "p.")

Here is my card with peonies on it...

I dry embossed a Kraft panel with Darice Honeycomb.  The peonies are The Ton Stamps Peony Cardmaking Memories.  The leaves and "happy" were in my box of extras.  The heat embossed "birthday" is Raisin Boat.  A few sequins finished it off.  My placement of the sequins is not the best, but the one I wanted higher was the last one I placed, and it fell off of my jewel tool on that spot, so I couldn't move it without leaving an ugly glue spot. LOL

Faith, Hope, Fight, Love - TMS #717

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  The card I've got today was simple to make, but not easy to make.  A dear friend has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, so I made this for her... 

I don't have much purple and thought the lavender would work, but I realized it was too light.  I cut 2 layers of Die-versions Whispers Awareness Square in lavender and one in black, layered them for some dimension, then colored the top layer with a purple Spectrum Noir marker.

Happy birthday cool cat - C4G #203

 Happy Thursday to you!  Thanks for stopping by to check out my creation for Cardz 4 Galz #203!  Our theme is "cats or kittens" so we've got some adorable cards!  Stop by the blog to see them!  Here are my kitties...

These cute kitties and sentiment are MFT Love You Furever.  My paper is DCWV Playful Pets.  The frames were easy as I used Sizzix Stacked Tiles and was able to cut all 5 at once! The sentiment is cut with Kat Scappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Fishtail Banners.  A triple twine bow and some adhesive dots finished it off.  

I need to take a photography class... this looks dull and dark, but it is bright and cute and girly IRL.  

And here are my real kitties!  We currently have 3...

Pixie is the definition of 'fraidy cat! LOL  But she's beautiful! 

These boys are proof that all orange cats share one brain cell!  LOL  

But they are fun!

Christmas in July - TMS #715

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I know it's summer, I know it's hot, but I'm celebrating Christmas in July, so I made a Christmas card. ;)  (Actually, I got a new stamp set and really wanted to use it!) 

My ornament is Concord & 9th Yuletide Ornament.  I colored it with a couple of Copics and then used my Wink of Stella pen so it shimmers.  My paper is Graphic 45 Christmas Carol. 

You ever plan a card then have to change it mid-creation?  I did!  I had the card laying upside down, so I glued the banners on the bottom corner.  Grrr!  Fortunately, I realized it quickly and pulled them off, but there was some glue damage. :/  The sentiment had to go there instead of on the lower part of the ornament as I'd intended.  Oh well!

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's a card I am sending to a dear friend who is struggling with some physical trials right now...

Both of these paper scraps were sitting on my desk and the flower and banner were in my "extras" pile, so I ut my diamond shape, stamped my sentiment, and put it all together.   The flower is Sunny Studio Hawaiian Hibiscus and the sentiment is from Raisin Boat Stunning Silhouettes.

 Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian family and friends!!  I'm still hoping to one day spend Canada Day in Ottawa! 

And since it's July 1st, it's also time for another challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenges!  This month's theme is "include gold."   I heat embossed my sentiment in gold on my card...

My paper is Recollections Christmas Plaids.  My sentiment is Colorado Craft Company Merry Everything.  My image is actually from a Stampabilities wedding set. LOL  Hey, a bell is a bell. :)  I colored it in with a VersaMarker pen and heat embossed it.

Paper hug - C4G #202

Happy Thursday to you!  It's time for Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme for this challenge is "more than one fold."  There are so many different folds you can try, so this will be fun to see what everyone creates!

Here's my card...

This was pretty easy to make and makes a fun fold.  I was inspired by >this card<.   My paper is Prima Romance Novel.  My heat embossed sentiment is from Poppystamps Marzipan Greetings.   The inside sentiment is a long-ago-printed digi.  I used Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles and CottageCutz Double Stitched Ovals.  The little roses were fussy cut from the same paper pack.  

There are many fancy or simple (like mine) folds to try, so find one and share it with us at Cardz 4 Galz!

Together forever - TMS #713

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card for this week's challenge...

My paper is Prima Romance Novel.  My sentiment is a vellum sentiment from an old DCWV wedding pack.  I cut it out with CottageCutz Double Stitched Ovals.  I put my glue on the outer rim, but it left it looking wonky, so I colored the edge with a marker.  Honestly, it looks much better IRL even though it looks nasty in this pic. :/   The organza ribbon is from my stash.  

This card was for my daughter-in-law-to-be's shower last night.  I realize it looks more like a wedding card than a shower card, but you gotta work with what you've got! LOL  I really need to find some products that work for showers!

Happy Birthday - C4G #201

 Happy Thursday to you!   It's time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme is "dies and/or punches."  My dies did all the work for me on my card...

My flower is Hero Arts Mum Stem stamp and die set.  I colored it with Spectrum Noir markers.   The sentiment is Poppystamps Marzipan Greetings stamp and die set.  I ink blended a few distress inks.  (It's not quite as dark IRL.)  My BG was in my extra pile.  I'm not sure what I did to it because several weeks ago, I spent some time trying to create some backgrounds.  I was not really happy with most of them and most ended up in the trash.  But I kept this one though I do not remember how I created it.  I think I may have just used a small paint brush and shaken some alcohol ink refill onto the cardstock.  Who knows!?!

Hitched - TMS #711

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I rarely say this because I rarely feel this, but I really love my card this week!!  It was so fun to make, and I think it turned out great!  

I made a fun wedding card for a wedding I went to this past weekend.  I embossed a panel of the Paper Studio The Linen Door with Darice Cloudy Sky EF.  The car is Spellbinders Sunday Drive and all the embellishments on it are Sunday Drive - Hitched.  The cans were personalized to the bride and groom... Sprite and Diet Coke. :D

Slimline birthday - C4G #200

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme is "slimline birthday" for these next 2 weeks.  I do like slimline cards, but I've made A2 for so long, that I find it challenging to lay out the card in a way that looks good.  This design is not original with me.  I saw something similar on Pinterest, but didn't pin it right away and couldn't find it again. :/   Anyway, here's my slimline birthday card...

I tried to hard to get a good pic of this, but none of them really showed it well, but here it is.  My DP is a 12 x 12 love pack from Crate Paper.  My flowers are The Ton Peony Memories Card Making.  The sentiment is half of "Happy Christmas" freebie die that's on a Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banner.  "Birthday" is TH Alphanumeric Stretch Upper dies.
