Golfer's birthday - TMS #743

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  My card is for my soon to be son-in-law.  He loves to golf! 

My image is from Creative Fabrica.  I printed it on vellum and colored the back side because I wasn't sure whether the ink would mess with the printing or not.  I'm never sure which settings to use when printing vellum.  (Any suggestions would be welcome!)  I adhered it to white cardstock and framed it with the Paper Studio Silver cardstock cut with Scalloped Stitched Rectangles.  My sentiment is Raisin Boat You Said It cut out with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.  

This sketch is our last revisit from last year.  It's Tammy's favourite... #719 played Aug 8...

Paper tree - SCC #157

Happy February 1st!   It's time for our new challenge at Sparkles Christmas  Challenge!  This month we want to see your Kraft Christmas cards!  Here's mine...

This was so easy and fun to make!  I embossed a panel with Cuttlebug Allegra embossing folder.   My paper strips are from all the sheets of paper left in my Christmas 6x6 pads that I didn't like enough to use. LOL  They are ok in little strips. :)   The star is Sweet n Sassy Stamps. I just realized I did not add a sentiment, but I think it's obvious that this is a Christmas card.  Plus I always stamp a Christmas greeting on the inside of my cards. ;)

This is pretty simple, but still very pretty.  (At least IRL!)  The paper is Prima Something Blue.  The circle is Impressions Obsessions Scribbled Circles.  I kept the center in so that the sentiment would show up better.  It is Sweet n Sassy Stamps Script Sentiments.

 Hi!  It's time once again for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme is "reds and/or pinks."  That's a good theme if you are making Valentine cards.  I am not.  My card is basically just to say hello...

My paper is Prima Romance Novel.  I love this die!  (I really need to use it more often!)  It is Die-sire Postbox and Robin.  (My "robin" is blue so he'd show up on the red post box.)  My sentiment is from Spellbinders Sunday Drive All-Occasion Sentiments.

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I've got a sympathy card to share today... 

My paper is Prima Romance Novel.  The sentiment is a digi that's been waiting in my extra box for awhile.  The black trim was cut with a Fiskars punch.  It's hard to see, but there is a very thin strip of gold between the black and tan papers. 

This week's sketch is Melissa's favorite.  It was #703 played on 4/18/23...

Peonies - TMS #740

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  It's time for Donna's favorite sketch, and I cheated a little on this one.  I let the paper do almost all of my work for me. :)

My DP (and image) is Pebbles Garden Party.  I rounded 2 corners with my CM corner rounder.  I cut the peonies panel with CottageCutz Stitched Rectangles and made the border on the frame with an old Fiskars punch. The sentiment is The Project Bin Defined.  I added a few Caramel Cream Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Yes, I've got a Christmas card for you.  I'm on the DT of a Christmas challenge, so I make them often through the year, but I made this one so I could use a new "toy" that was perfect for the sketch. :) 

I just got this snowflake BG... it is Poppystamps Snowflake Background.  My sentiment is Sum More Fun Tangled Tinsel.  The circles are Die-versions Stitched Circles. The extra snowflake is a MS punch.  The DP is Recollections Regent Street. The shimmer of the silver paper is so pretty!  Here's a different angle...

Happy Tuesday to you and Happy New Year!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  

As usual in the beginning of the year, we are revisiting the Design Team's favorite sketches from 2023, and since my name is first alphabetically, my favorite is first.  (This was #728 played 10/10/23.)  Here's my card, then you'll see the sketch...

This is a pretty simple, but fun card.  When I get down to just a few pages in my 6x6 pads that aren't my favorite, I toss them in with my scraps. This is one of them.  My balloons are MFT Happy Birthday Balloon Trio.  My sentiment is CB Birthday Wishes.

Snow globe Christmas - SCC #156

 Happy New Year and a Blessed 2024 to you!!

It's time for our January challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #156.  Our theme is "winter wonderland" so you can interpret that and show us what a winter wonderland looks like for you! To me, it means SNOW!! :)  The snow is technically not visible in my card, but it is certainly suggested.  :)   I have been on many sleigh rides in my life, and love the crunch of the snow under the runners. And the fun of shaking snowy branches on those in the sleigh. (I intended to use my VersaMark pen and add some snow to the branches, but forgot until everything was put together.  Oops! 

My image is Sweet n Sassy Stamps Old Fashioned Christmas.  I inked the BG with TH stormy sky distress ink.  The front panel is Poppystamps Raining Frame.  I cut the circle part of Darice Snow Globe out of it for the illusion of something falling.  My sentiment is Raisin Boat Formal Phrases.  The branches are a MS punch and I colored some adhesive dots red.

 Another year has come and almost gone!  2023 was full of joy (my son got married to a wonderful young lady!) and a year full of sorrow (many suffering physically and many lost loved one), but I'm thankful for God's presence and peace through both.  

It's time for our challenge at Cardz 4 Galz.  Our theme is a DL or slimline card with flowers.  (A DL card means the width is half of the length/height. Mine is 3.5" wide and 7" tall.) 

My card is for the daughter of a dear friend who passed away recently.  

 The paper was in a box of paper that I had not opened since we moved in 2020.  I don't know who made it.  My sentiment is a rubber stamp from Stampendous called "Blessing."  It's cut out with CottageCutz Stitched Rectangles.   (I had to cut the top portion and move the die and finish it.  (That's a great way to get cuts for shapes/sizes you don't exactly have.)  The flowers are The Ton Peony Memories Cardmaking and stamped with Catherine Pooler inks.

Our first Christmas as Mr. & Mrs. - TMS #737

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Except there's no sketch.  This is our Annual Anything Goes Challenge!  This challenge will last for 2 weeks (until Dec 31) and we want to see any type of craft project that you have created.  

My son got married is August, so I made an ornament for he and his wife...

I started with a blank wooden ornament and inked the edges.  I cut the saying on my Cricut (using Design Space) in black matte vinyl.  I used some organza ribbon from my stash for the bow and it was all done.  I gave it to them on Sunday, so they can use it on their tree this year.  

No sketch to share. :)  Please play along and share your crafty creations!!

It's time for our challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  This time our theme is "Christmas Card" so easy for this time of year! 

I do have to confess that though December is almost half over, I have yet to send a Christmas card.  I'd better get busy! 

Here's one that is mail-friendly... 

My paper strips are Crate Paper Snow & Cocoa. (The strips are all odds and ends left after using the main portion of the page.)  The Noel is Xcut Noel Mini Die.  The large snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch.  The tiny snowflakes are from the center of the "O" in the sentiment.

My ornaments and sentiment are Raisin Boat Holiday Hang Ups, stamped with VersaMark, and heat embossed with Martha Stewart embossing powder.  After cutting the panel out with Stitched Scalloped Rectangles, I sprayed it with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz.

Sending holiday wishes - SCC #155

It's the month of Christmas!!!   24 days! :)   

It's time for our challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!  Our theme is "animals or birds."  I've got a cute little deer for you...

My image is a colored digi from my stash.  I have multiples of this image printed, but cannot remember where it came from.  (My old laptop that had all my digis died last year!)   My snow globe is Darice Snow Globe.  I used Ranger Ultra Thick embossing powder to give the look of glass. My paper is Echo Park Christmas. 

Here's a closeup... probably should have done one more layer of VersaMark and embossing powder, but it is very pretty IRL.

Homespun Holidays - TMS #734

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  This challenge will run for 2 weeks and we are collaborating with Double Trouble again!  We are joining them for Challenge #154 - "Keep Calm and Stitch On"   Their challenge runs from Mon, Nov 20 - Sun, Dec 3.  Ours starts today, Nov 21, and runs until Dec 3, too. 

Let me show you my card, then I'll explain...

My paper is Recollections Christmas Plaids.  The background panel is red cardstock cut with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics and dry embossed with Darice Crackle.  My image and sentiment are from Peachy Keen Stamps (Nov 2013 release... 10 years old!!) and colored with Copics.   It's cut out with CottageCutz Double Stitched Ovals.  So I have stitching is on my image and my die.

Embossed birthday - C4G #212

It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  I've got a fun birthday card to share for this challenge and our theme of "embossing - wet or dry."  If you have followed me for any time at all, you probably know that my all-time favorite technique is dry embossing, so that's what I did for my background.  I actually heat embossed my sentiment, so I technically did both types. :)  Here's my card...

I embossed the card front with Sizzix Cloudy Day.  The hills are Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes.  I created the sunflowers with TH Small Tattered Flowers.  (Not sure what I used for the center.)  The fence is Poppystamps Pointy Picket Double Gate (only used half), and I stamped it with Honey Bee Stamps Barn Wood Background for texture.  My sentiment is Sweet n Sassy Stamps Pennant Party.

Happy birthday - TMS #732

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Today, I'm sharing my hubby's birthday card.  Shhh!  His birthday isn't until Friday. ;) 

It's technically not for his birthday, but my hubby (and me, too) is getting a new car this week.  Last week, our daughter who is a teacher was on her way to school.  She was driving our car for a couple of reasons.  At 6:30, it's still dark around here, and a big buck jumped out of the ditch in front of her. We're soooooo thankful she was in our car which is much larger than what she normally would have been driving, so she was not hurt, PTL!!  But... the car was totaled. :/  We did find a car just yesterday, so we're happy. :) 

The frame  is Spellbinders Postage Stamps.  My paper is We R Memory Keepers Sunsplashed.  The car is from The Project Bin Classic Man.  The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is Sweet n Sassy Stamps Script Sentiments.

Love & appreciation - TMS #731

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Today is the last day of October, but October is Pastor Appreciation Month, so I made this card for our pastor and his family.  (A pastor's wife and family are a huge part of his ministry and need appreciation, too!) 

My DP is Pebbles Warm & Cozy.  I stamped the background panel of Honey Bee Stamps Barn Wood Background with VersaMark and clear embossing powder and heat embossed.  Then I inked it with TH Antique Linen.  (The barn boards seemed to fit the three strips on the sketch.)  My image is from Doodle Pantry (digi shop long closed) that I had in my stash.  The sentiment was in my "extra" box and, sorry, I didn't bother to search for where it's from. :P

GORGEOUS poinsettia background card - SCC #153

Hello!  I'm soooooo late this month with my card for Sparkles Christmas Challenge!!  I had a very busy time and thought I had all my design team cards ready.  Oops!!  So only 2-1/2 weeks late, here's my card for our "Christmas Flower/Foliage" theme.

The "GORGEOUS" title might seem a little prideful, but it's not my ability, it's the technique as you'll see...

I saw this card (click there or HERE) which led me to this video (click there or HERE) and I fell in love with this technique and had to try it.  I have the world's cheapest foil that tears and is absolutely uesless in the kitchen, but was great here.  I inked it with some Bree Reese alcohol inks that I got at Tuesday Morning before it closed. :(  I embossed it with Spellbinders Scenic Poinsettias 3D EF.  My sentiment is Pink & Main Christmas Script Merry Christmas.

Polka dot birthday - C4G #209

 Happy Thursday to you!! It's time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme for this challenge is "green and cream."

I used AC Basics polka dot paper, Tonic Studios Champagne cardstock, flower from Sizzix/Hero Arts Butterflies #3 stamped with Memento Pear Tart, a bit of baker's twine from my stash, and happy birthday from Spellbinders Yana's Layered Script Sentiments.  The flower is layered on 2 cuts of 110 lb black cardstock to give it some dimension.

You're sew sweet - TMS #727

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card for this week's challenge...

This was fun to make!  I was checking out Tonic Studios after Melissa has had so many amazing cards from her kits from their shop.  I did get a few things. ;)  One was the Sewing Kit Patchwork Die Set.  I wrapped some very old embroidery floss around the spool and through the needle.  The "sew sweet" sentiment is from Neat & Tangled Crafting is My Jam and the Thank You got separated from its set, so no idea there.  My DP is Bo Bunny Early Bird.  I cut the sentiment with CottageCutz Double Stitched Ovals.  The decorative strips are MFT Stitched Ric Rac.
