Happy Tuesday to you!  Time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

This week our sponsor is CC Designs.  Play along for your change to win!!

Our wonderful sketch this week is by Laura...

The sketch was perfect for embossing!!   :)  Of course, I think any sketch is great for embossing!

My image is Crazy for Cupcakes  and the sentiment is Birthday Balloons sentiment 2; both are from Paper Pretties.
Can you believe it??  No DP!!  I used Cuttlebug Birthday Bash and Spots and Dots embossing folders on my Cutmates Bubblegum cardstock and cut my image with Spellbinders Circles and Scalloped Circles.

Thanks for stopping by!  Our vacation is over this Friday, so this is my last scheduled post.  By next week, I'll be "live" again and will be visiting and commenting again!

A rooster "thank you"

I've got a thank you card to show you today...

I tried to make this look masculine because it was for a man.  I'm proud of myself on this one because the cardstock is all from my scrap pile, the DP was a scrap, and I used eyelets!  It has been sooooooo long since I have used any eyelets!  I wasted a bunch (thankfully, I tried on scraps first!!) simply because it's been so long that I could not remember the correct settings to use on my Big Bite.   I was about to dig out my Silent Setter (which is not silent!) when I finally got it.

The image is Doodle Pantry Rooster (precolored) and the sentiment is from Doodle Pantry School Bus and I colored it to match the image.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Flashback Friday at M5D

Happy Friday to you!!   Do you have exciting plans for your weekend?  I do... we're still on vacation! :)

Today is Flashback Friday at McMahon Five Designs.    I chose a digi paper and sentiment from the breast cancer awareness category.  I plan to send this to a friend in cancer treatment, but this could be used for anyone going through a rough time since the awareness ribbon on the paper is covered by the quotation...

I used Breast Cancer Awareness Digital Paper 2 and  Breast Cancer God Doesn't Promise.   These are both currently FREEBIES!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Please visit McMahon Five Designs blog to see my design team sisters wonderful creations!!!

Doodle Pantry mid-month COLOR release

Today, Doodle Pantry is releasing the colored version of some older sets.   **And a new set of "accessories" for DP characters**  I really do enjoy using my Spectrum Noir markers, but it is soooo nice to be able to print a colored digi and be able to go right to putting my card together!!

I used Holy Land Flowers 2 Color plus.  The BG is a pre-made digi paper combo from this set.   I printed it with the flower name, embossed with CB Swiss Dots and Darice Large Petals folders, added a bit of ribbon to it.  I cut the image with my Spellbinders Ovals and Scalloped Ovals.  A second image was fussy cut for some dimension.  A few pearls and my note card was finished.

Check out all the now colored sets...  (they all come with outlines, too, so you can color if you want to)  Click on the name to go to the item in the store...

Peacock Birdie COLOR plus UPDATED
***This set is FREE June 12-16 because some were having issues with it printing too dark.  If you have already purchased this set, go to this post for instructions on getting the updated set***

Laurie has one new set for this release, too...
Hats and Things... How cute are these??  They will fit the DP characters to dress them up!

Happy Father's Day - take #2

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a card that I had made to send to my dad for Father's Day.  A friend wanted to buy it, so I sold it and thought, "I have lots of time to make another."  Today I suddenly realized I'd better get one made and in the mail if I hope to get it to him on time!!   [My mother's Mother's Day card was late, so should his be late, too?? :) ]

Many challenges have father's day as the theme so it was easy to find inspiration.  It didn't take too long to make and I'm thankful as I don't have much energy because I'm trying to recover from a miserable cold!!

Here it is...

Flip flop time!

Summer may not be officially here yet, but we've had a few flip flop wearing days.  (Shhh!  Don't tell anyone but I don't like wearing flip flops!)   Now that I've shocked you all, I'll show you a card made with some really cute flip flops from Doodle Pantry.

I used a pre-colored image from the Flip Flops set.

This card makes me feel like a schizophrenic crafter!  I don't like the color purple, but I like it on this card and many that I've seen others make.  Another example...  I don't like or use much bling, but I love it on others' creations.  Can't think of them at the moment, but there are other things that are just not my style, but I love them when I see them.  Maybe that means I have a sophisticated creative palette.  Or maybe I'm just nuts!! :)

The Paper Players #148 - summer holiday -I think my card works... the only time I wore flip flops was when we were on vacation at my grandparents cottage on a lake!  :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!!

Warm hugs - TMS #201

Happy Tuesday!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches #201!!

Do you realize that Christmas is less than 7 months away???  You might not even care, but I do!  For the last couple of years, I have been trying to make Christmas cards all year long so I'm not stressed in December.  Unfortunately, this year I am waaaaaaay behind!!!  This week I made one that I will use as a Christmas card even though it does not actually say "Christmas" on it...

Here's this week's fun sketch by Melissa...

3D Grand Piano card

The last few weeks have been so busy that I've only created for my DT commitments.  I love creating for my design teams, but on the weekend, I had some time to create just for me, so I went looking for inspiration.   I was perusing the  Make The Cut forum and saw this file that Andy (MTC's creator) had made.  All I can say is "Wow!!"

I immediately went to try it out and this is the result.  This evening I made the front of the card... (be sure to look further... the best is yet to come!!)

I used pinkpaislee "London Market" 6x6 DP.  I LOVE this paper!!!  The BG paper is embossed with Paper Studio "script" folder, the stamps are 7 Gypsies cling stamps, cut out with Spellbinders Labels Four and a Fiskars punch, and ribbon from my stash.

Up close of the heat embossed treble clef.

NOW for the best part... the inside!!!

Yes, it really is a pop up grand piano!!  How awesome is this?????

I colored it with my Spectrum Noir black marker and meant to go back and even it out, but forgot.  I'll do that before I send it.   I used a white gel pen on the "keys."   Inside sentiment is Paper Trey Ink.

Here is the link to the MTC file...  3D Grand Piano Popup Card

This was my first try.  I will try to find heavier cardstock the next time even though this was ok.  The heavier, the better.   This is only 80 lb. and Andy recommends 100 lb or 110 lb.

Paper Pretties PWC 260 - embossing (I did both dry and heat)
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

I cannot wait to make more of these!!!  Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Happy June!! - Doodle Pantry New Release

Happy Saturday to you!  Today is June 1 and that means New Releases at Doodle Pantry!!  This month's line up is awesome!!!

This is definitely not your typical baby card, but I thought this paper fit this image well.  These shoes seemed classic/vintage and so did this paper.  (I had baby shoes like this, so does that mean I'm vintage??)   The image and sentiment are from  Baby Shoes.

If you saw my post from last week, you saw cards for veterans taking an Honor Flight.   Once I saw the Freedom Eagle set, I knew I wanted to use it for these cards, too.

We would love to have you play along in Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge #35!   It goes live at noon EST today.  You have until June 24 to join in the fun.  **Remember, you need to use a Doodle Pantry image in your creation, not just a sentiment or digi paper**  Check out the Freebies page if you don't have any DP images yet.  Just for playing along this month, you will receive Quirky Stork for FREE!!

And June 1-24, the Vintage Cooking set is FREE w/ purchase!!
