Cool car!!

I've got a very cool car to show you!  Unfortunately, it's not a real car, but it's still cool, I think.  I must admit, my dream car has always been a red Camaro, but I would certainly not refuse a Corvette if one was offered! LOL

For this card, I used the current sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  There's still time to come play with us!! :)

My image is the outline from Doodle Pantry's Classic Corvette... well, sort of.  I say that because I colored this image last summer!  Corvette is a new release from Doodle Pantry, so how could I do that?  Laurie had a set of classic cars at Clear Dollar that I had purchased a few years ago.  The corvette outline was in it.  The new set has colored image and digi papers to go with it.  Very cool set!!  (I cannot remember where the sentiment is from!)  And Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge 46 "Any Digi Goes" is open until May 24 at 9 PM!

My image and sentiment are cut with Spellbinders Small and Large Labels.  My paper is scraps of Basic Grey, I think.  The black  adhesive dots are from ???.

I'm submitting this to a few challenges...
613 Avenue Create #72 - anything goes w/ optional twist (I went with AG)
Digi Sketch Challenge 12th May - sketch and/or anything goes (I went with AG)

Big Blossom - TMS #246

Happy Tuesday to you!!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  It is finally beginning to look like spring around here, so I've got a flowery Mother's Day wish to show you!

I kept my card pretty clean and simple.  I started with a Kraft base, stamped my Stampendous sentiment in Memento Rich Cocoa, added 3 strips of washi tape,  and the flower.  This was cut in the 3 smallest sizes then crumpled.  I inked the edges with TH walnut stain.   The blossom is Spellbinders Blossom Five (available at Dies R Us)......

Dies R Us just happens to be our sponsor for this week!  :)  I wish I could win!!!  I love my dies almost as much as my many (I don't dare count!) wonderful embossing folders!

Jessi created our fun sketch for this week...

"Miss you" card + my "resolution"

In a post that I read last week, the blogger said she was going to use scraps all month.  I could probably do that for a year (or 2 or 5!!) and am going to try to go through my scraps and coordinate them and begin to use some of them.  I also have a bunch of digital images printed and waiting to be used.   I am going to TRY to use up scraps plus the images already printed.

That's how this card came to be.  I printed this image a few weeks ago.  Finally colored it last night and made the card this evening.   *I must confess that I did not use scraps!  Oops!!  Already broke my resolution!!  LOL

My image is A Scottish Castle from Delicious Doodles.   I LOVE Delicious Doodle scenes!!  I colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers.  The sentiment is TPC Studios cut with Spellbinders Labels Four.  My DP is 7 Gypsies "Venice."  The flowers are Flora Doodles.

Challenges...
Delicious Doodles Challenge #69 - layer up
Mojo Monday 327 - sketch
Digi Sketch Challenge - sketch and/or "say it with flowers"

Thanks for stopping by and try to stay warm this week!!  Our temp is diving about 40 degrees by tomorrow.  Brrr!!

I'm "snow" happy!!

Happy Friday to you!!  I'm happy today because we finally got SNOW!!!!!!  Some of you have been getting blasted over and over and are groaning at my comment, but I am so happy today because I just love snow!!!!!!!

I have a card for you today that I just made for fun and for some challenges.  It's been awhile since I made a card that I did not "need" to make, so I enjoyed this.   I went searching and found some challenges and inspiration and made a card to send to a friend.  (Then I have to get working on a list of several cards that I do need to make!)

The DP is from DCWV Mariposa mat stack just trimmed to fit the card.  (I love it when the paper does all the work!!)  The sentiment is the bonus freebie from Word Art Wednesday.   I cut it with my Spellbinders Labels Four.  I added some ribbon, twine, a button, and adhesive black pearls.

Challenges...
Word Art Wednesday #113 - anything goes w/ word art or uplifting sentiment
Twist of Faith #70 - anything goes w/ Scripture or uplifting sentiment
Digi Sketch Challenge - sketch and/or theme-ribbons and pearls (I used the theme)
Pile It On #48 - things with "P" -mine is pearls and "papillon" -butterfly in French! :)

Merry Christmas, "Deer"!!

19 Days and Counting!  :)   In years past, I have tried to be making CHRISTmas cards all through the year, but this year I did not do well with that at all!!  So I decided to cheat... we are sending picture cards to most people and the cards I did make will go to a special few.

This card was inspired by this one I saw on Pinterest.  Mine falls far short of that beauty, but I like it anyway.  I think mine is more on the masculine side.  Better ribbon and cord would help.  Next time!

I used Holiday Deer SVG Cuts from Doodle Pantry.  I just used the cut, but these SVG's work with Holly Stag and Merry Deer.  I just have a Cricut E so print and cut is too much work.  :/

The gold cardstock is from a 12x12 DCWV "Metallic" that I've had forever!  It is the same paper for the bottom panel and the deer but I guess the angle of the light on the card makes it look different.
I used up some scraps of ribbon and cord.  The sentiment is from My Craft Spot "Joy to the World" and is heat embossed with gold.  I tried something I read recently (can't remember where).  They suggested using the heat gun under the paper for a smoother "melting" of the embossing powder.  I don't heat emboss as much as I dry emboss, so I'm not sure it make a huge difference but it does look nice up close.

Challenges...
Cards for men 24 - anything goes
Digi Sketch Challenge - sketch and/or theme: Christmas
My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #120 - sparkle & shine
Paper Playtime #24 - anything goes
Bearly Mine #115 - Christmas sentiment
Clear It Out - anything goes
Terrific Tuesday - Tinsel time: use silver or gold

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Western notes

Happy Hump Day!!  It cracks me up that this phrase has become so popular lately (or unpopular, depending on who you are!) -- it's been around for years!

Anyway, I'm glad you stopped by today.  I have a set of note cards for my daughter's friend.  She loves all things western!!  (Not sure what she'll think of the outhouse, though! :)

These all are made using Doodle Pantry's Western Combo Kit**check out below for info - this is on sale!!!**  This has these images already combined and colored.  I've had them printed for awhile and just got the cards made today.

My DP for all of them is DCWV "The Linen Door" which I got discounted at ACMoore last week. :)  On this one, I used CB Distressed Stripes embossing folder,  Spellbinders Labels 15, burlap ribbon, TH walnut stain distress ink, a SU button tied with a thread I took from the ribbon.  (I'm out of twine.)

I'm submitting this card to these challenges...
Fetch a Sketch #61 - sketch
Paper Playtime #21 - ribbons and buttons
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I'm submitting this card to...

The challenge for this card is...
Digi Sketch Challenge - 1,2,3 and sketch (I used 1 embossing folder, 2 Spellbinders - circles and scalloped circles, and 3 DPs)
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

My  last card...

I didn't find any challenges to inspire me on this one.  It's all my own little creation! :)

Now for the good news...  If you like western images... hop on over to Doodle Pantry!!  Today, Oct 23, until Sun, Oct 27, ALL western images are on sale 30% off!!    This is in "celebration" of the anniversary of the infamous shootout at the OK corral in Tombstone, AZ on Oct 26, 1881!  Laurie's husband really likes that, so she is having a sale!  I think it's cool... I was in Tombstone just last month!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
