The most wonderful time of the year - TMS #586

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Only 3 days 'til CHRISTmas!!!  :)   This is our Annual Anything Goes challenge!  No sketch, no limits.  And this challenge goes for 2 weeks, so you've got time to play even at this busy season.  Maybe even with some new toys you find under your tree.  ;)

I have a fun project to show you... embossed ornaments!  What do you think?  Take a look and then I'll explain how to do it.

"the most wonderful time of the year"

"in this house we laugh play & we jingle all the way"
(I must have moved on this one.  It didn't emboss as clearly as the others.)

"Don't get your tinsel in a tangle"

My sentiments are SumMore Fun Tangled Tinsel.  I used VersaMark, white embossing powder, and ribbon from my stash.

To do this, use an anti-static tool or bag on the ornament.  Ink the stamp with VersaMark, hold it in the palm of your hand (curving it slightly in your hand), and firmly press the ornament into the stamp.  Pour the embossing powder on and gently heat emboss.  Take your time, being sure to keep the gun moving.  Add a bow and enjoy!

I wish you a very Merry Christmas!!  See you in 2021!

Rustic Christmas - TMS #585

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I really should be at the point of mailing my Christmas cards rather than still making them, but... this is 2020!  Enough said.

After putting this all together, I realized I had cut the squares in a way that makes them all blend together rather than show distinctly, bit I didn't have time to fix it.  It's ok IRL, but not so great in this pic. :/

My paper is the Paper Studio Pine St Square. I love the rustic look of this!!

My sentiment is Raisin Boat Formal Phrases.  My tiny snowflakes are a little punch that I got when I first started paper crafting in 2005!

Here's our fun sketch...

Joy - TMS #584

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Yep, still making Christmas cards! :)

My paper is the Paper Studio Pine St. Square.  The mittens and sentiment were in my huge file of printed and waiting stuff, so I cannot remember where they are from.  Some baker's twine from my stash finished it off.

I created this sketch based on a card that I made back in the spring...

Obviously, a grad card.  My cap is from Sweet n Sassy "Congrats Grad."  I heat embossed it as you can see better in the next pic.  The paper was from my scrap box.   and how funny that I used the same twine... 7 months later! LOL

Here's the sketch...

Non-Traditional Christmas - SCC #119

It is December!  The month of Christmas is here!  And soon after... 2020 will be over!!!

(This is my second post today.  If you're looking for my Tuesday Morning Sketches post, keep scrolling or click HERE.)

What a year it has been!   I'm sure you've faced your own battles this year with the huge impact that Covid-19 had on our world.  Maybe you've struggled a lot.  Maybe this didn't personally affect you much.  Either way, it has been tough for so many.  I hope that as we look toward this Christmas season, you know the truth of Christmas!  Jesus Christ was born in a manger, lived a perfect life, and gave His life on the cross of Calvary so that every person who trusts in Him can know they have a home in heaven one day.  Trusting the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior not only gives us hope for eternity, but brings joy and peace in this life!  If you would like me to share more about this blessed truth with you, please contact me!

So when you enjoy your Christmas tree, your snowmen, your family and friends, don't forget to keep Christ as the center of you CHRISTmas!!

For our challenge this month at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #119, our theme is non-traditional colors.  If you know me, this is not usually me.  I love my red and green! :)  But I am pleased with this card...

Depending on your monitor, this might look more blue.  IRL it is a pretty teal green.  Looks great on my iPhone, but  looks an odd blue on my Dell laptop, so I'm not sure which you're seeing... sorry!

My paper is Graphic 45 Christmas Carol.  I clear heat embossed and die cut the trees which are My Favorite Things O Christmas Trees.  My sentiment is Sweet n Sassy Stamps Christmas Tags and cut out with Spellbinders Ribbon Banners.  My hills are Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes.

Please come join us at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed Christmas season!!

Jeremiah 29:11 - TMS #583

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

A non-Christmas card for a change! ;)  My sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy Stamps "God's Will" clear stamp.  This is one of my favorite verses in all of Scripture!!  What a comfort this is during a year like this!   The verse is stamped with VersaFine Black Onyx and heat embossed.  It's cut out with Spellbinders Petite Ovals.  My DP is Pebbles "Family Ties."  The border punch is Martha Stewart.

Here's the sketch...

Merry - TMS #582

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends!  I have so much to be thankful for on any given day, but today I am especially thankful that my whole family is together right now!  We are in FL where our girls are in college, and they will be coming home with us this weekend and finishing the semester online from home!  I'm a happy mama!

But enough about me, here's my card...

This was such an easy card!  I have had this 12x12 pad for several years.  The paper, the penguin sticker, the sentiment sticker, and the green piece all came from this Paper Studio Happy Hootin' Holidays Scrapbook Pad.  My snowflakes in the corner are a MS punch. I also used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics and Die-Versions Stitched Circles.

Here's our sketch...

Peace on Earth - TMS #581

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Another Christmas card this week...

This is a pretty simple slimline card.  It looked better in my mind, but oh well. I will put DP rather than Kraft if I make another like it. I didn't want the background to be too busy, but this ended up being too plain. LOL

My BG panel border is MS Diamond Star punch.  My image is CTMH "Glory to God."  It is heat embossed so has a shine IRL that's nice.  My branch is Die-Namites "Budding Branch."  You can't really see it behind the twine bow, but my button is made with Poppystamps Stitched Buttons Dies.

(When you hold the heat gun under the paper, it embosses so smoothly!!)

Here's our sketch...

Shimmery poinsettia - TMS #580

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I'm making Christmas cards every chance I get, and this is no exception.  (I've had more time this past week since we had to quarantine when my husband tested positive for Covid. He's on the mend, but had a pretty rough week!)

When I chose this paper, I thought it was more iridescent and less purple. (I do not like purple!)  But this is actually very beautiful in real life!  My paper is Canson Effects.  The poinsettia is Darice Poinsettia.  The sentiment is Pink & Main Merry Christmas.

In this close up and you can see the shimmer.

I had actually made the card in this next pic first but was not happy with it. I didn't cut enough layers of the flower and though not bad IRL, it's nothing special.  I forgot to take a close up of this.  The gold paper has the same shimmer as the above paper.

Here's our sketch...

Snowflakes - TMS #579

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  The temps have been getting below freezing here at night, so I'm ready for snow!  I've heard we don't tend to get a lot here, so I have to create some of my own. ;)

My paper is Echo Park Christmas.  My snowflake is Darice Large Snowflake die.  My sentiment is Raisin Boat Holiday Wishes.

Here's our fun sketch for the week...

NOEL - SCC #118

Happy November 1st!  Only 54 days until Christmas!  If you're still making cards, come over and join us at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #118!  The theme this month is "Gold and/or Glitter." For my card, I went with the gold...

I used a black A2 card.  The gold paper is Canson Effects.  I cut a small panel of black with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics and dry embossed it with Darice Crackle.  My "NOEL" is Xcut Noel Mini Die.  I added some sheer ribbon from my stash, tied it with a small bit of twine, and added the snowflake from the center of the "O."

The gold paper has a bit of shimmer that is really pretty IRL!

This card is so much better IRL, and it was pretty simple to make, so this might be one to "mass produce" this year since with our move and working a lot, I'm still way behind in my cards.  And... there's a very real possibility some friends just might get a purchased card this year.  :O

Please come play along at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!

Love you to pizzas - TMS #578

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I"ve got a fun card for you today...

My paper is all from my scrap box.  My pizza and sentiment are Jillibean Soup stamp and die set.

Here's our sketch... as you can see, I stretched it sideways. :)

Merry Christmas x 4 - TMS #577

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I've got some more Christmas cards for you.  I've actually have 4!  This sketch is so fun that I kept creating with it. :)

I was shopping on Saturday and went into Tuesday Morning.   I love to check out their craft aisle!!  That's where I found this paper.  I really didn't NEED anymore Christmas paper, but my pads are getting low, so this wasn't a total impulse buy. ;)  It is Echo Park Christmas.   This is a beautiful double sided pad!  I used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics for all my panels.  The strips were cut with my trimmer. A little twine bow finished them off.

The reason I made 4 cards was that these sentiment blocks were all on a page, so it was easy, peasy.  :)

Which do you like best? :)

Silver snowflake Christmas - TMS #576

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Time is flying, so I'm working on Christmas cards whenever I have a chance.  Here's one with this week's sketch...

I was searching for some red paper in my scrap box and came across this card with the front already embossed.  (I think it's Sizzix Snowflakes.)  My sentiment is Pink & Main Merry Christmas die.  My snowflakes are Sweet N Sassy Stamps Small Snowflakes.  The sentiment and snowflakes are cut from a silver paper.  Very pretty IRL!!  Here's a closeup so you see the shine a bit better...

Here's our fun sketch... can't wait to see what you do for the side element! :)

Slimline birthday - TMS #575

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

I'm joining the slimline trend today...

I don't have any slimline dies yet, but I have a trimmer, so I made a "tall" card.

All of my paper was from my scrap box.  My flower is Hero Arts Mum Stem stamp and die.  My sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy Stamps Birthday Greetings.  I always have trouble getting sequins to stay on a card, so I just punched some tiny circles for the dot element at the bottom of our sketch...

A Christmas Hello - SCC #117

Happy October 1st!   It's time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge #117!  Our theme this month is "Vintage Christmas."

My card is vintage in the paper and sentiment though the card itself isn't exactly vintage.

My paper is the Paper Studio "Old World Winter."  My sentiment is Flonz Christmas Poems.  I love the vintage look to this!  I cut it and framed it using Spellbinders Petite Ovals.  I had some crinkly ribbon I had made a few years ago and made my double bow with it.  Though it doesn't look like it in the picture, it actually matches really well.

Time is flying toward Dec 25... got all your cards made?  If not, let us help inspire you and please play along with us at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!

Have a blessed day!!

Masculine birthday - TMS #574

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  This week, I've got a masculine birthday card.  I tend to struggle with masculine cards, but this one came together fairly easily.  Check it out...

My paper is MME My Heritage.  My Kraft panel is dry embossed with Darice Wood Grain EF.  My sentiment is from The Project Bin Classic Man.  It is heat embossed and cut out with Spellbinders Standard Circles.  I used my trimmer to cut the other pieces.

Here's the sketch...  You can see I didn't follow the "instructions" exactly! :O

Sometimes God calms the storm...

I'm not working today, so I've got some extra time to clean my house and craft! Probably will do more of the latter. :D

Last week, I found a Visa gift card in my wallet with some $ still on it. Yay!  I had a realization that a couple of stamps on my Sweet n Sassy Stamps wish list that had been out of stock were now back in stock, and my gift card had enough to get them.  :)   (I'm going to need to find a few hundred dollars worth of gift cards to get all my wish list items! LOL)

Here's a card I made with one of them.  (I'll use the other soon and share it, too.)

Maybe you need this reminder right now, so I pray this card a blessing to you. It's going in the mail today to some friends going through a rough time, and I want it to encourage them.

My sentiment is "Calms His Child" from sweet n Sassy Stamps.  My paper was from my scrap box.  It is one piece that changes color.  I embossed the top with Sizzix Cloudy Day and the bottom with CB Distressed Stripes.  My border is MFT Die-namics Stitched Ric Rac.  I used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics, Spellbinders Classic Squares, and Spellbinders Pierced Squares.  I can't remember which one it is, but one of the squares was just slightly smaller giving the this black border on the sentiment which I think really sets it off. This was all adhered to a black card.  (I almost always use black for my foundational layer on a white card, but I'm really loving the look of the black card base.

I am entering this into a few challenges...

Cuttlebug Mania 9/15 - anything goes

Aud Sentiments #260 - anything goes + sentiment

Word Art Wednesday #458-459 - anything goes family friendly w/ uplifting sentiment

Crafty Sentiments Designs 9/22 - anything goes

thanks so much - TMS #573

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Lately, I've needed a lot of sympathy and thank you, so I'm trying to add those to my stash.  Today is a thank you card...

I started with a black A2 card, cut my panel with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics, rounded the corners with my CM corner rounder, and heat embossed my Papertrey Ink sentiment.  That panel and my squares are all Pebbles Family Ties DP.  Simple and easy, but still cute, IMHO. ;)

Girly girl birthday - TMS #572

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

This week's card will be in my stash and saved for a girly girl's birthday...  probably my oldest.  :-)  It's very her!

My paper is Carta Bella Metropolitan Girl.  Great 6x6 pad!!  (A couple of weeks ago, I commented on a card that had the NYC skyline paper.  I told them I loved it while thinking I wish I had it!  Then I start working on this card and realize I do have it! It's in this pad, as well. LOL) My sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy Pennant Party and cut with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners. The "flower" is Spellbinders Mini Medallions One.  I dry embossed it with Darice Cherry Blossom but didn't like it, so ran it through again with CB Swiss Dots. :D

Thanks - TMS #571

Happy Tuesday to you!  Another week has flown by, and it's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day off.  We had lots of stuff that we could have (maybe should have) done, but we just chilled and enjoyed family time.

Anyway, here's my card...

Sorry that the card is at an odd angle, but this was the only way the embossed circles would show clearly.  I tried to cut circles of varying sizes and widths, but it ended up looking like a very odd bull's eye! LOL   So I tried the embossing, and I really like how it turned out.
I used Spellbinders Standard Circles LG and SM.  My paper was from my scrap box.  The stars are cut with Sweet n Sassy Stamps Star Dies.  My sentiment is Raisin Boat "You Said It!"

Here's our sketch...

Cardinal Christmas - SCC #116

Happy September to you!  It's the first of the month, so it's time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge #116.  And can you believe that it is only 115 days until Christmas!  :)

Out theme is "Festive Things with Wings," and here's my card... :)

My cardinal is Sweet n Sassy Stamps Christmas Joy stamp and die. (I love this set!!)  It's colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  The sentiment is from that set, too.  My paper is Old World Winter.  I cut the panel with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics and cut the circle out with Spellbinders Standard Circles.  The sentiment is cut with Simon Says Stamp Tiny Tags.  And the twine is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a blessed day and come over and play along at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!!
