Warmest wishes

I have made a lot of design team cards lately, but haven't just played in awhile, so this morning, I perused Paper Playful's list of challenges and found lots of inspiration for a card...

I created the background by smooshing ink on my glass plate, adding water, and dragging the white cardstock through it.  Once it was dry, I randomly rubbed VersaMark and heat embossed with clear EP.  I like the texture and shine it added! (see closeup below) My sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Build Me a Snowman.  My cup of cocoa is Honey Bee Stamps Love You S'More.  Branches from a MS punch and green cardstock and a PaperTrey Button (cut from extra background) finished it off.

Here are the challenges I'm entering...

A Cut Above Sept - AG with a die cut
Addicted to Stamps and More #500 - die cuts and/or stencils (I used die cuts)
As You Like It - layered or flat **I chose layers because I just love layers!  I also love CAS/one layer cards, but I am never satisfied with how mine turn out.  I always end up adding layers. :)
Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #45 - coffee, tea, or cocoa
Creative Knockouts #554 - lots of layers
jingle belles
- cardstock Christmas (no patterned paper)
Just Us Girls #791 - die week
Merry Little Christmas #64 - AG Christmas and family friendly
Simon Says Stamp Monday - Stamp It
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Stamp It
Word Art Wednesday #714-715 - AG family friendly

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Buffalo Plaid Christmas

Most of my cards are for my design teams, but sometimes I just play around and make a card for fun.  Such as this white Buffalo check card...

This is pretty basic, too, other than my BG.  I found some stencils at Tuesday Morning that were intended for cookies, but they are in my craft room and will probably never ever make it to the kitchen!!  :D
I used the Buffalo plaid (AKA gingham) stencil and used my blending brush and added black ink to white cardstock.   I used 2 different sized snowflake punches and embossed them with CB Swiss Dots.  My sentiment is Pink & Main's Merry Christmas stamp and die set.

Challenges...
Christmas 24 #002 - anything goes
Christmas Crafts All Year Round Jan - anything Christmas or Holiday goes
Merry Little Christmas #18 - January anything Christmas goes
ABC Christmas A or B - A is for anything goes or B for bingo (I did A)
Little Red Wagon #532 - Christmas
Scrapy Land #130 - anything goes w/ brand SL sells (Pink & Main)
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - use a stencil
Happy Little Stampers - January anything goes w/ dies

Christmas ornaments - TMS #507

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  This week, I've got a Christmas card for you...

(It's hard to see in this pic, but the ornaments really
shine and are so pretty IRL!  You can get a glimpse below.)
Supplies...
~Raisin Boat "Holiday Hang Ups" clear stamp
~Versamark ink
~MS embossing powder
~the Paper Studio "Old World Winter" DP
~Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics

Challenges...
Crimbo Crackers #186 - anything Christmas goes
Merry Little Christmas MLCCB #10 - June anything Christmas goes
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas #441 - anything Christmas goes

When I heat emboss, I put the heat gun both on top of the design and under the design to help keep the paper from warping.  I had heard that going under helps the EP melt better.  It's true!  I did these ornaments in a dark red EP first, but made a bloober, so did it again in the green.  I heated the green from underneath only.  See how much smoother the green is that the red...  It's cool!

Here is our sketch for the week...

You're the coolest - TMS #498

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  **In just 2 weeks, we'll have our 500th sketch challenge!!!  Wow!! Be sure to come by then for a blog hop and chance to win some great prizes!!

I've got a fun note card to share today...

I love this Die-namics Soda Pop Bottles die set and matching Soda Pop clear stamp set from My Favorite Things!!  We drink too much lots of Coke products in our house, so this die is perfect!  My paper is all scraps.  The main panels are cut using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basic A and B.  I used CottagCutz Stitched Rectangles, Cheapo Dies Pierced Circles, and Sweet n Sassy Stamps Stars dies along with the Die-namics bottle.  See how cool it is?  It embosses to look just like "the real thing"!  I heat embossed the clear sentiment with white embossing powder.

Papercraft Challenges #43 - polka dots
Dies R Us #118 - anything goes using dies by companies carried at the DRU store (Spellbinders, Cheapo Dies)
Pile It On #153 - lots of layers

- - - - - - -

And... I had this image sitting around, so I made a Christmas card, too...

Merriest snowman wishes

While things are a little slower during the Christmas/New Year break, I'm trying to really use up a lot of the images, backgrounds, die cuts, and/or half done projects that are around my craft room.
This card used 2 of them.  *pats self on back*

Have you seen this?  I stole it from a few friends who shared  it on FB.

Here's my card...

I've seen many cards on Pinterest and Instagram that have an inked BG and a snowman or house or church or something sitting on a hill and loved the look.  So I copied the idea and made my own.  My snowman and sentiment are Simon Says Stamp "Build a Snowman" stamps and "Snowman Parts" dies.  I created my BG with Studio G coordinating inks and added white heat embossed snowflakes. (From the SSS set.)  My "rolling hill" is Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes.

Challenges...
Christmas Crafts All Year Round January - let it snow
Merry Little Christmas #6 - January anything Christmas goes
Cute N' Crafty Christmas #3 - Christmas/winter
Dies R Us #112 - anything goes with die from company carried by DRU (Poppystamps)
Scrapy Land #105 - anything goes with brand SL sells (Poppystamps)

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

TMS #482 - take two

After finishing my card for yesterday's challenge, I was working on more Christmas cards.  I found a stamp set that I've not inked up yet, then I had the thought to try a nativity die for the 3 elements under the main image of this week's sketch.  This is the result.  I like it!  What do you think?

My sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie's Nativity Sentiments.  I cut it out with Spellbinders Classic Squares and inked it with TH tea dye before removing it from the die.  My DP is the Paper Studio Old World Winter.  My ribbon is Paper Studio.  The animals and manger is Die-Versions Nativity Border trimmed down to fit what I needed.   It does look much better IRL.  I'm planning to get some daylight bulbs next trip to WM so that my pics look brighter.

Here's the sketch again...  please come over to Tuesday Morning Sketches and play along!!

Challenges...
Word Art Wednesday #364-#365 - anything goes w/ uplifting sentiment
Merry Little Christmas #5 - anything goes Christmas
Make My Monday #85 - non-traditonal Christmas colours
Simon Says Stamp Monday - B is for... "baby Jesus"
Addicted-to-stamps #169 - Christmas non traditional colours

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!
