Tuesday Morning Sketches #161

Good morning to you!!  Another Tuesday, another Tuesday Morning Sketch!! :)

**I'm sorry to have to say this, but I won't be commenting on blogs with word verification.  For the last couple of weeks, I have not been able to do it no matter how many times I tried. I don't mean to sound rude, but after typing that code when I KNOW I have it right and it still doesn't work, I'm giving up!  FYI, Blogger's spam filters are pretty good.  Since I started in Jan '11, no spam has appeared on my blog.  I get the email about it and delete it from the spam folder.  If you are concerned about it, set it so you can approve all comments.  And maybe that spam isn't bad... they tell me if I click their link, I could make millions of dollars!!!!!  LOL

Back to business...

Our sponsor this week is Raisin Boat.  What a cool stamp company!  You can buy stamps, of course, or you can RENT stamps for a monthly fee so you get new ones to try often!  Very neat!!  And those sweet folks sent the DT some stamps to play with, too!!

So come over and play along with this awesome sketch by Melissa...

And here is my card...

My stamp set is Hydrangea Bouquet...

I went pretty clean and simple on my card...

Simple verse card

**Scroll down for my Tuesday Morning Sketch post**

Well, the card is pretty simple, but no verse is simple.  Especially when it tells us of God and His faithfulness!!  This verse really does that!  Over the last few days, I have received news of difficulties for several friends and several blog friends.  The only place to turn is the Lord!!

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband!!

Today, is our  ...  anniversary!  I'll let you figure it out! :)

I am writing this post early and scheduling it for the morning of our anniversary!   We are heading out to spend the day as a family so I won't have time to post it that (this) morning.  (Just the 2 of us will go out later in the week.)

I was so excited to make this card and I am thrilled with the way it turned out!!  I was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.   Check out that one HERE.    I changed the wording because I wanted to number the days that we have been married.  I loved him even before we were married but I could not tell you the exact day that happened!   I remember the date of our first date, but I don't think I loved him at first sight!  In fact, I stood him up the first time he asked me to meet him! :o

Sorry my ribbon got in the way!  It's 8,766.  And I'm not going to show you what I wrote inside!!!  The font is Lemon Chicken.  It is such a pretty font!!
Can you figure out the years??  Don't think I'm mathematically inept when you divide 8,766 by 365 and don't get a whole number!   Ever heard of leap year??

~computer generated sentiment
~Nestabilities Labels Four
~Recollections "Charming" DP
~Offray ribbon
~Allegro embossing folder
~Tea Dye and Walnut Stain distress inks

As I was putting it all together, the thought came to me that the Allegro folder was appropriate because "we make beautiful music together"!!   We actually do... we have a very harmonious relationship, but we also sing together in church a lot! (Don't mean to sound full of myself by calling it beautiful!!)   But music is what brought us together!  We met in a choir at college.  He was actually dating another girl in the choir, but ditched her once he met me!!  ;)

Thanks for stopping by!!!   Appreciate your hubby today even if it's not your anniversary!!

it looks big but it is size 24 mos
close-up
I used Siser EasyWeed heat transfer vinyl.  I cut it all in Make the Cut using Snickles and Segoe print fonts.
It was fun to make!!

No, I am NOT announcing that I am having a baby!!  I am making an announcement and I made a baby card to go along with it!  :)

Take a look...

I am excited to be joining a very talented group of ladies and to be a part of the design team for Daydream Designs!!  Diane's store just opened on Friday and she has some wonderful digital stamps, digital papers, and great tutorials!!

Tuesday Morning Sketch #159

I'm excited about this Tuesday Morning Sketch because for the first time since I have been playing along (for about a year and a half) and now being on the DT, I am not making a card.  It is an altered notebook.  I love to take an inexpensive composition notebook and dress it up!!

Before I show you my creation, let me remind you that if you play along, you could win a prize!  This week our sponsor is Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  Check 'em out!  They have some cute, cute stamps!!

I am also entering this in Word Art Wednesday's Challenge #40.

Here is Melissa's sketch for the week...
With all the beautiful detail in the sketch, I thought it would lend itself well to a larger project, so I found a notebook and here we are...
I thought this verse was great because this would be a great 'blessings journal'!  And believe it or not, in real life, the waves actually match the teal in the DP!!
I even made a pen to match...
Unscrew the bottom of the pen, roll up a 3 1/2" x 3/4" coordinating paper, slide it in, and you've got a matching set!  I wish I had cut the paper so the lines were up and down or used the flowered DP, but oh well!!   I use Pentel R.S.V.P. pens for this.

~K&Company 'Julianne' DP
~Doodle Pantry Little Lighthouse colored digi
~Doodle Pantry Ps. 136:1 freebie
~Nestabilities Ovals and Scalloped Ovals
~flower border stamp from ???
~flower, brad, and ribbon from my stash
~Terrifically Tacky Tape - you want an adhesive that REALLY holds well

My 4th post of the day!!  Two posts are my DD's creations!!

Several babies are on the way for friends and I realized I have mostly pink and girly cards, so it was time for some blue creating!

Just hanging out...

That's what I feel like I've been doing this week!  With half of my kids away, I've had a lot more time on my hands, but that's all good!!!  I've had much more than normal time in my craft room!!!  My DD created with me this morning, then left me for the Wii! :/  So I kept on going and here is my latest creation...  I've got one more that I hope to post today, too.

I've had this digi printed for awhile, found it today, and used it finally!

A creation of my daughter!!

My youngest daughter, Brenna, likes to craft.  Sometimes, she will take over the craft room and have a blast cutting with my Cricut.   BTW, the name is Brenna, not Brenda, not Breanne, not Brianna, or any other variation... it is Brenna!!  Can you tell that most people can't (or don't) read and totally mess up her name at the doctor's office, etc.??  Thanks for letting me vent! :)

OK, I'm calm now.  I found a couple of challenges for kids.  This morning, my husband took our son fishing, the older 2 girls are at camp, so she came and played in my craft room.  I asked a few questions about what she wanted to get her going, but she picked out everything and made 2 cards and did everything herself.  So I'll have another post after this one.

The challenge over at Little Hands Challenge #17 is summer and as soon as I told her, she said, "Ice cream!"   We eat a LOT of ice cream in the summer!!
Simon Says Stamp Challenge has a Children's Summer Holiday Challenge and she'll enter that, too.

Cute kitties!

I don't have a creation to post today so I was enjoying my blog reading and heard a funny noise.  I thought, "Oh, no! Not another squirrel or bird in the wall!"  Then I realized the stirring sound was in the room with me.  I looked up and saw one of our cats on the top of my dining room hutch!!!  So instead of yelling at him, I grabbed my camera. :)

Patch!! He is often in strange places!!!

But he is so fun!!

Pixie is his sister and she is a sweetheart!!!

Peanut was here first and wants us to know it!  He acts like a teenager!!
He is so curious about the outdoors!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my kitties!

A very exciting Tuesday Morning Sketch!!

Why is this one more exciting than the rest of the wonderful Tuesday Morning Sketches???  Because this week, we are using MY sketch!!   Yep!  Sketch #158 is a creation of little ol' me!!  Be sure to head over to check out the rest of the DT and their creations and then play along with us!!

This week is a judged challenge, too!  The twist (must do in order to be considered for the prize) is to make it a birthday card/project. Our sponsor this week is Digi Doodle Shop!

I'm also entering this is these challenges...
The Stamp Man Challenge - Anything Goes - Celebrations
Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge 85 - Birthdays
Joyful Stamper's Inspire Me Fridays 70 - Anything Goes

Since it is my sketch, it should be easy, right??  I put flowers in the sketch and intended to use them.  Then I thought maybe this card could be for a man, so decided on buttons.  Then thought the papers are really too 'girly' for a guy, so back to the flowers.  Here are pics of both versions because I tried before I adhered...  (I still have not attached either so let me know which one you like best, ok?)

Flowers?
....Or buttons?

Do you ever have great plans to get a lot of crafting done and then accomplish none of it??  That was my last week and weekend!!  But this week, 2 of my 4 kids are away at camp so maybe I'll have more time... or maybe the other 2 will take more of my time!   And that's ok because they are all growing up too quickly, so I'm enjoying time with them!
