Spring-y "welcome" wreath
Isn't it funny how quickly we get spoiled? We've had almost 2 weeks of nice warm weather (60's, 70's and a couple of 80 degree days) but today was only about 50 and it felt so chilly. Of course, if this had been a normal spring, we would have been thrilled with today's temp! But whatever the temperature, spring officially arrived this past week, and so it's time for spring crafts!
In the fall, I made a wreath that has been hanging on our school room door, and I had intended/hoped to change it every season or holiday. Well, I missed a few - ok, I missed a bunch! - but at least spring is covered now! :)
Challenges...
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #103 - "Celebrate Spring" with at least 3 flowers
BBTB2 - "Welcome"
Celebrate the Occasion #55 - "Welcome Spring"
Krafty Girls #3 - "Get Growing" with handmade flowers
Whimsical Wednesdays - "Celebrate Spring"
~wreath from JOTS cut at 10 1/2"
~flowers from GBS at 2", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2"
~D'vine Swirls, Distress Stripes, Perfect Paisley, Swiss Dots, and Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug folders
~"Welcome" from Ashlyn's Alphabet cut at 2 1/2"

Fantabulous Cricut #96 - 3x3 Valentine card

"Have a ball" boy's b'day card
Flowers and ribbons and all those type of embellies are so fun to add to my cards, so I find making cards for girls is much easier than for boys! But once I decided on this image, coming up with something for a boy card was easy!! I am really pleased with the result because those little 'gumballs' are just so cute!!

"sunny days" summer birthday card
Summer seems to be the theme for a lot of challenges lately. It's hard to be inspired... we had a couple of weeks of 90 degrees in May and since them it's been cool with rain, rain, rain! I hope that wasn't all the summer we are going to get!!
This is a summer birthday card wishing 'sunny days' all year long on the outside and 'happy birthday' on the inside.

Fantabulous Cricut - sun
BBTB2 - "sunny days"

"50 is not old" birthday card
My oldest sister will turn 50 next week. I wanted to be sure and mark the occasion in a 'special' way even from a distance. :) So this is the result...
I thought of doing the "no matter how old you get, I'll always be younger than you are" but that's been done before - I'm the youngest. So I thought I'd start out nice and encouraging...
This card will be submitted to--
Fantabulous Cricut - spring

Birthday Sundaes - spring birthday

"Nuts about reading" bookmark
At our house, we really do love to read!! My mother makes embroidered bookmarks for my kids, so I usually leave that to her, but this week over at Cricut Cardz the challenge is to make a bookmark. I found a quote that I like and agree with but it was a little too much unless I computer generated it. Maybe next time.
“If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.” ~Oscar Wilde
It is a rounded rectangle from GBS welded to the squirrel shadow from Winter Woodland for the base. I cut the shadow again in dark brown. Cut the squirrel body in the light color. A patterned paper rounded rectangle from GBS. "nuts" is cut at 1" from Alphalicious. "About reading" done with an alphabet stamp set. (My 'u' is a little too tipsy!) Accented by criss-crossing the "I". Outlined 'nuts' since the colors were so close.

"home tweet home" card
I don't have either "Straight from the Nest" or "Stretch Your Imagination" they suggest over at BBTB2 for this week's challenge and blog hop, but I do have DS, so I made my own birdhouse.
How did I do it?
I cut the dreidel from JOTS, turned it upside down, trimmed the handle, and cut a circle from the middle for the house itself. Welded a couple of shapes from GBS for the roof. Used a rounded rectangle for the 'floor'
~ Bazzill cardstock
~ Blossoms and Butterflies paper
~ swirl border from Joys of the Seasons
~ bird from A Child's Year
~ 'home tweet home' is from Tear Drop cut at 1"
~heart and branch are from Sweethearts (I wanted to use the kissing birds, too, but they didn't cut well that small)
Thanks for looking!!!!

"Classic" masculine birthday card
Another card for a challenge. I discovered a great blog... Celebrate the Occasion. It has challenges to celebrate the occasions throughout the year. This week, challenge #2 it to make a masculine birthday card. This is my submission.
I have not put any sentiment on the inside yet. With this front, I will probably write something about the recipient being 'old enough to be a classic'! :D
What I used:
~Basic Grey Granola paper (colors are perfect for 'manly' stuff!)
~distressed the edge
~crimped the GBS shape behind the car
~car from Heritage cart 'decorated' with silver gel pen
~stamp -I have no idea where I got it
~ribbon

Summer card!
I'm not tired of winter yet... in fact, I still want more snow so we can ski! But many are tired of it, so when I saw Fantabulous Cricut's Challenge Me Monday #47 to make a seasonal project, I decided to put some warmth in it. (And because I don't have the pics printed yet for the winter LO I'd really rather do!) The sketch is from Mojo Monday 178, so this card will go for both of those challenges.
What I used:
- Bazzill Bling cardstock in yellow and orange (I cleaned my M's out of these - 40 8x8 sheets for $2.99!!!)
- PP from DCWV Summer Stack
- George for rectangles and circles
- Old West for sun
- Stamp from ???
- corner rounder
- grossgrain ribbon
- pop dots
- CM metallic pen
Thanks for looking!!!

'Choose Life' bumper magnet
When I first saw that Fantabulous Cricut's Challenge Me Monday was to make a project for your favorite cause, I wasn't sure what to do. I remembered that Sanctity of Life Sunday was Jan 23. 'Choose life' and 'It's a child, not a choice' both immediately came to mind but then I remembered I had seen the words done like this. My prayer is that it touches a heart and makes a difference!!
What I used:
magnet sheet (crinkle cut on my new YourStory trimmer!)
permanent vinyl
NA for feet
DT for A..O..TION
PF for the D and P
Street Sign for 'choose life'
GBS for the X's

Boy and girl baby pop-up cards
Pop-up cards are so cute! Check out Capadia Designs blog for instructions.
I used GBS, NA, MM, and SB for all cuts and set it up in DS to make an A2 card. My truck and carriage were cut at 2" and next time I'll make the carriage larger. Embossed with my Scor-pal and used the Cutter Bee Bug on the girl's. Some ribbon, brads, and a little inking. There cards are for the babies of 2 friends who are sisters-in-law and delivered less than 24 hours apart. :D
Thanks for looking! Try one... they are fun to make!
