Buffalo Plaid Christmas

Most of my cards are for my design teams, but sometimes I just play around and make a card for fun.  Such as this white Buffalo check card...

This is pretty basic, too, other than my BG.  I found some stencils at Tuesday Morning that were intended for cookies, but they are in my craft room and will probably never ever make it to the kitchen!!  :D
I used the Buffalo plaid (AKA gingham) stencil and used my blending brush and added black ink to white cardstock.   I used 2 different sized snowflake punches and embossed them with CB Swiss Dots.  My sentiment is Pink & Main's Merry Christmas stamp and die set.

Challenges...
Christmas 24 #002 - anything goes
Christmas Crafts All Year Round Jan - anything Christmas or Holiday goes
Merry Little Christmas #18 - January anything Christmas goes

New toys! Had to play!

I had some Christmas money left and was able to indulge in some after Christmas and New Year sales!   This card is made with a set that I think is sooooooo cute!!!!

Take a look...

I just love the way this turned out!  I'm not good at CAS, but this set seemed to lean toward that, and I was happy with it.  Easy, peasy, and cute!  My stamp and dies are Lawn Fawn Year Eight Fortune Cookie.  The cookie is colored with a Spectrum Noir marker.  The DP is Pebbles Family Ties.

Challenges...
Dies R Us #113 - anything new (stamp and die are new)

Merriest snowman wishes

While things are a little slower during the Christmas/New Year break, I'm trying to really use up a lot of the images, backgrounds, die cuts, and/or half done projects that are around my craft room.
This card used 2 of them.  *pats self on back*

Have you seen this?  I stole it from a few friends who shared  it on FB.

Here's my card...

I've seen many cards on Pinterest and Instagram that have an inked BG and a snowman or house or church or something sitting on a hill and loved the look.  So I copied the idea and made my own.  My snowman and sentiment are Simon Says Stamp "Build a Snowman" stamps and "Snowman Parts" dies.  I created my BG with Studio G coordinating inks and added white heat embossed snowflakes. (From the SSS set.)  My "rolling hill" is Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes.

Challenges...
Christmas Crafts All Year Round January - let it snow
Merry Little Christmas #6 - January anything Christmas goes
Cute N' Crafty Christmas #3 - Christmas/winter
Dies R Us #112 - anything goes with die from company carried by DRU (Poppystamps)

On your special day - TMS #446

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  I'm so excited about my card today!!!!  It's my daughter's birthday card.  She is 20, but for years has loved and still loves Beauty and the Beast!  Check this out...

(I added the pic in a huge size so you can see the detail.)

This was really fun to make!!  If you visit regularly, you've probably heard me say I'm using up scraps and already printed images.  {{FYI my 6 month "I'm not buying anymore paper" spree has lasted over 8 mos!}}  In case, you're impressed with my self-control, I must admit I have purchased a few dies with Christmas money, and I did get some black cardstock that I "needed."  ;)
I recently found this Disney Belle Enchanted die and was so excited because, as I said, my daughter loves Beauty and the Beast!!  I came home and began to play with it.  The tiny face stamp is included.  So cute!  I cut it twice in yellow.  I put tape on the back of the second one before taking it out of the die in order to keep the tiny pieces in the skirt.  I cut it in brown, cream, white, and red and trimmed to get the hair, face, dress trim, and rose.

It Is Well With My Soul

Sympathy cards.  I do not ever want to have to make them and really dislike making them, but on the other hand, I do enjoy it.  Only because I want them to be a blessing for the recipient.  I want them to know I care and am thinking of them and praying for them, so I often put more care into a sympathy card than another kind of card, but I've had to make too many recently!  The card I'm sharing today is one that a lot of love and effort went into.  It was made for a college friend who lost her husband after a great physical battle resulting from a stroke.  Too young!  Too soon!  But God had a plan, and their whole family was such a sweet testimony of God's strength and grace through it all.  Often in her updates on his condition, she often shared a song and what it had meant to her that day.

When I saw Sweet n Sassy Stamps' Hymn Blocks set, and I knew I wanted to get it and would use it often, so I ordered it.  When I needed to make her family a card, I knew I needed to use that set.   It has phrases from 6 songs, but I used "It Is Well."

I made it into an easel card...

Another Christmas card tonight.  This one is all white!  (Except for the sentiment.)

I embossed the BG panel with Cuttlebug Holly Ribbons.  The poinsettia is Darice Layering Poinsettia.  My sentiment is Sweet n Sassy Christmas Tags.  It's stamped with Versafine Onyx and cut with Spellbinders Ribbon Banners.  It's not visible in this pic, but I used my Wink of Stella pen on the flower leaves, so they sparkle, too.

Fall birthday wishes

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you who have been and will be affected by Hermine!   ♥

I've got a fall birthday card to show you today.  I love this fun owl!  I had planned to give him some googly eyes, but the eyes I have were either too small or too large.  Time to go shopping!!!  ;)

Isn't he cute?  This is one of the Birthday Fall Critters from Doodle Pantry.  My digi paper is from the same set.  My image and sentiment are cut out using Spellbinders Petite Ovals.  The leaves are Spellbinders Orchard Harvest Tags and Accents.   American Crafts ribbon and twine are from my stash.

Today, Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the challenge over at Send A Smile 4 Kids!   It's a great challenge and you can find the info there if you are interested in donating cards to them.

Floral thank you

I wanted a masculine thank you.  I tend to struggle with masculine cards.  {{I think it's because I don't have much masculine paper.  Hey!!  Maybe I should go paper shopping!!!}}  I chose my paper and stamp with men in mind, but still am not thrilled with the masculinity of it.  Do you think it's masculine enough looking for a guy?  I hope so because it's going to be sent to one.

Seek the Lord...

It's April, right?  Yep, that's what the calendar says.  If you visit my blog much at all, you know that I LOVE snow and that I was not happy this winter because we got almost none! :'(
Now that it's April, we finally got some snow!  I think we got more this weekend than we had all winter long!  Half of it is melted already, but it sure was nice while it lasted!  See?

But since it's spring, I'll move on...

I love to make note cards with a Scripture sentiment.  They are so versatile and can be used as a simple note card, an an "I'm praying for you" card, or maybe a sympathy card.   Here is one I just made...

My DP is MME Indie Chic, and the back piece is embossed with Darice Cherry Blossom EF.  My sentiment is free word art from Word Art Wednesday a couple of weeks ago.   The pink frame is cut with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles.  My sparkly, swirly brads are Recollections.
