hello - C4G #189

Can you believe that 2022 is almost over?!?  This year has flown!  And it is time for another challenge over at Cardz 4 Galz.  Our theme for this final challenge of 2022 is "anything from 2022" so we want you to redo one of our themes for the year, but be sure to make it differently than before... we want a new make, no reposts.

I chose to reuse challenge #180 from Aug 25... use 3 of anything.  I picked a stamp with 3 flowers.

My image and sentiment are Honey Bee Stamps Framed Anemones.  I stamped the image, heat embossed it, and colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I added a few sequins.

Please come and play along with us at Cardz 4 Galz!  If you got any crafting goodies for Christmas, this would be a great challenge to play with them.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Charcuterie boards - TMS #689

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  You may wonder at the post title.  "Uhhh... how do have charcuterie boards in a sketch challenge??"  You don't.  This is our Annual Anything Goes challenge which literally means that anything crafty goes.  I decorated cutting/serving boards to make specialized charcuterie boards. :)

I created each saying in Cricut Design Space, cut it using Cricut stencil material on my Cricut Maker, applied it to the board, painted the design, (removed the stencil), let it dry, lightly sanded it with 400 grit, then applied 3 coats of Butcher Block Oil.

Great gifts for friends!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to go check out the creations from the TMS DT...

#letitsnow - C4G #188

Yes, please, let it snow!!  Though I don't have too much hope in southern OH. :/
It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme is "fun in the snow," and I do believe that snowball fights are fun!  My girl is ready! #letitsnow

My colored digi is Emma & the Snowball from Fred, She Said Designs.  My paper is AC Jack Frost.  I cut out the image with Die-versions Stitches Circles.  The sentiment is FTHS, I think.  It's cut out with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.  The snowflakes are an old, old, old EK Success punch.

Come play along at Cardz 4 Galz and show us how you like to have fun in the snow!

Thanks for stopping and have a blessed day!

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I think I can finally say that this is the last Christmas card I'm making... at least this week! LOL

My BG paper is Recollections Christmas Plaids.  I cut Poppystamps Double Joy die in a piece of EK Success Julianne.  My sentiment is Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Nativity Sentiments is heat embossed in WOW White Pearl and cut out with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.  I added a few sequins because it needed just a little something more.

Here's our sketch...

Snowflake Christmas - TMS #687

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I'm still making Christmas cards.  [And you probably will read that statement again in the coming days. :) ]

My paper is Echo Park Christmas, the snowflakes are Spellbinders Snowflakes, and the sentiment is Raisin Boat Formal Phrases that was stamped and heat embossed.  Easy peasy!

Here's our sketch... that I obviously took literally! :)

Snowman Christmas - SCC #143

Happy December!!  24 days until Christmas!!!  :)

It's time for another challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!  Our theme this month is "non-traditional colors."  I am very much a red and green Christmas kind of gal, but I do enjoy some non-traditional colors on cards.  Here's mine...

My paper is Crate Paper Snow and Cocoa, my snowman is Sizzix Snowman #7, the hills are Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes, and the sentiment is MME Holly Jolly.  This was easy, but it still cute and pretty flat, so very mailable. :)

If you're still making those cards, come and play along with us at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Four calling birds - C4G #187

Happy Thursday to you!  It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  (Can you believe it's December already??!?)  Our theme for this challenge is "anything from 'The 12 Days of Christmas.' "

On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

I am currently without a printer so my options were a bit limited for this, but I made my card featuring the "4 calling birds" line from the song...

Paper - Dovecraft Winter Blooms
Stamps - Fiskars Build a Tree, MME Holly Jolly, Raisin Boat Wonderful Day
Dies - Find It Trading Holly Jolly Music, Spellbinders Squares and A2 Matting Basics
Embellies - sticker, ribbon, and sequins from my stash

We'd love to have you play along with us at Cardz 4 Galz!  But whether you get all your cards made or not, or all your shopping done or not, take time to remember the Babe in the manger Who came to die on the cross to give life to all who believe!

Sparkling Merry Christmas - TMS #686

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card for this week... (and close ups to show the sparkle)

I used my Kat Scrappiness slim line dies to cut the panels.  The ornaments are Raisin Boat Holiday Hang Ups.   I was intending to heat emboss them in silver... but could not find my silver embossing powder. :/  So I used Kaleidoscope.  It is pretty IRL, but hard to photograph.

I cut an oval and dry embossed it with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots.  The sentiment is a combination of Pink and Main Merry Christmas and a Happy Christmas die.  It's cut out in a silver shimmery paper.

Here is our fun sketch...

You warm my heart - TMS #685

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  My card is Christmas-y, but I'll probably use it as a Christmas thank you rather than a greeting card.

All this took was some red and Kraft cardstock and some leftover strips of Christmas paper.  The red is embossed with Sizzix Sweater by Eileen Hull.  I just got this, and I LOVE it!!!  My image/sentiment is Technique Tuesday Hello Winter Sweater.  I heat embossed  it in white and added a touch of color with my Spectrum Noir markers.  The few scrap strips finished it off.

Here's the fun sketch...

Hello - C4G #186

Hello!  It's time for a challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme is "use stencil(s)" and I LOVE the one I used!

A few weeks ago, I got an email from Altenew telling me that this Sweet Spring layered stencil was free!  I did have to pay shipping (which was almost as much as the cost of the stencil), but the stencil was free. ;) And I love it!! I used Pinkfresh Studio's Morning Sky inks. The sentiment is Die-versions Curly Hello.  I cut it multiple times is black, then cut it in an adhesive sheet and pressed a foil sheet on to it.  It's not as smooth as it would be if done on a foiling machine would be, but it's still pretty.  And I don't have a foiling machine.  (And I have been unsubscribing from most craft emails, so I will stop buying stuff, including "free" stuff! LOL)

Grab a stencil... any kind of stencil... and come play along at Cardz 4 Galz!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

A bit of Dr. Seuss wisdom - TMS #684

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

This card was a real challenge!  I had an idea and tried it.  That all ended up in the trash.  I remade it with this paper, the realized I had missed a key element, so ripped it all apart.  A few attempts and much frustration later, this is the result.  Not happy with it, but I ran out of time. :/

My DP is Paper Rose Everything Sweet.  My sentiment is a digi from 613 Ave Create. (Another one that has been waiting to be used forever!)
You can see below that I made this kind of a half fold.  I didn't add any sentiment inside so I can use this for whatever occasion I want at a later date.

Here's our sketch...

Happy Christmas - TMS #683

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Christmas is coming soon!!  I've got another card to share.  I am still making Christmas cards though whether they actually get sent or not is another thing! :P

My paper is the Paper Studio Pine St. Square.  I cut my Kraft strips, cut out the sentiment, and embossed them with CB Swiss Dots.  Then I cut the sentiment (a freebie) from white cardstock that I had given some shimmer with my Wink of Stella pen.  All of the snowflakes are shimmery though you can't see it in the pic.  My large snowflake is from Hobby Lobby, the medium size is a Martha Stewart punch, and the smallest is an EK Success punch.

Here's our fun sketch...  (As always, feel free to use any shape.)

Happy birthday - C4G #185

Hi!  It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!!  Our theme is "watercolour background or image or both."

I do not have watercolor paints, but I do have a small set of watercolor pencils, so I stamped multiple flowers from Raisin Boat Oops a Daisy and colored them with my pencils.  Then I "painted" them with a wet paint brush.   The sentiment is Momenta Happy Birthday Die.  I cut it out 3 times in black and one layer in an adhesive sheet.  I then pressed foil sheet on to the adhesive.  It's not as smooth as if it had been hot foiled, but it is pretty!  (And I don't have a hot foil machine yet.)

Festive things with wings - SCC #142

I can now say "Next month is Christmas!!"  :)

And it's time for a new sketch at Sparkles Christmas Challenge.  This month's theme is "Festive Things with Wings."

So here is my thing with wings...

My image is Sweet n Sassy Stamps Christmas Joy.  The paper is from my scrap pile and my random pile of papers.  The sentiment is from Raisin Boat Formal Phrases.  Simple and mail-friendly, but still pretty.

Time is flying, so come play along at Sparkles Christmas Challenge

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Thank you - TMS #682

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I've got several cards to share this week.  I made the first one and realized it would look better if the panel was smaller, so I made this one...

and these...

Lastly, here's the first one that I wasn't happy with... (I'm sure you agree that the above cards with the smaller panel and wider frame around it look much better!)

My DPs are Pebbles Family Ties, Prima Believe, and Recollections Winter Frost.  I used up some pages that were "leftovers."  I always have a few pages that I do not really care for, but found that they are ok in strips.  Now I'll be able to clear out my patterned paper! LOL  The "thank you" is Heidi Swapp and "praying for you" is The Project Bin Defined.

Here's the sketch...  (I'm going to use this one again for sure.  It's perfect for those extra strips of paper, so I'm planning to use some Christmas paper "leftovers" and make some quick Christmas cards.)

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

I cut a Kraft card base and added strips of Carta Bella Metropolitan Girl DP.  I embossed the CottageCutz Double Stitched oval with CB Swill Dots.  My MS Bird stamp was colored with my Spectrum Noir markers, fussy cut, and popped up.  The sentiment is Sweet n Sassy Pennant Party.

Here's our sketch...

Grateful to call you friend - C4G #184

It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  This time, the theme is Halloween or any or all of these Halloween colors: orange, purple, and black.  I used a couple of the colors for my card...

My DP is Prima Believe.  My butterflies are cut with a die from AC Uchi's Design Animation Card set.  I cut them in black, too, and layered them so they stand out a little better, especially IRL.  I used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics and CottageCutz Stitched Rectangles.  My sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Leaf Stamp Set.  It's stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne then clear heat embossed.

Merry Christmas - TMS #680

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I'm still working on Christmas cards...

I started by cutting the main panel from DCWV Glitter Mat Stack.  I cut the white circle and embossed it with CB Swiss Dots. The poinsettia is Darice Poinsettia.  (I will leave the die cuts in the die and run through with an embossing mat next time so the embossing will be more prominent.)  I cut one layer of the flower from green and used that as the leaves.  (I don't remember who I saw do this, but it's a great idea!  So much easier than cutting individual leaves!)  The flourish is Darice Swirl Vine.  The sentiment is Sweet n Sassy Christmas Tags and heat embossed.  It's cut out with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banner.

Here's our sketch...

Love & Appreciation - TMS #679

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's what I created this week...

This card (with a gift card enclosed) was made for our new pastor and family.  The church is another colored digi from Doodle Pantry that I've had printed for a long time. The main panel is embossed with Lifestyle Crafts Whimsy and the edges were inked with Hero Arts Soft Granite.  I inked the edge of the image oval, too, to tone down the start whiteness.  The sentiment is from McMahon Five Designs.  It was heat embossed and cut out with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.

Here's our sketch...  I love this!  It's so versatile!

For a cause - C4G #183

It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!   This challenge is "for a cause."  It could be breast cancer or any other cancer awareness, autism awareness, adoption, earth day, or whatever other cause you want to create a card for.  Mine is for breast cancer awareness as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

My die is Die-versions Whispers Awareness Square.  I've made a few cards with this recently in different colors for different cancers, but this one is pink for BCA.  I cut it in pink 2 times and stacked them.  I cut it once in black for the bottom to make it stand out against the pink BG.  The paper is Colorbok Love.  The sentiment is one I've had printed for a long time and I don't remember where it's from, but I have multiple sheets printed and use it often!  It's cut out using Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.

Come play along at Cardz 4 Galz and show us what cause is dear to your heart!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Great is Thy faithfulness - TMS #678

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card...

My DP is Prima Epiphany cut out with Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles.  My heat embossed sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy Hymn Blocks and cut out with the same die set.  The banner is a side of a pennant from Spellbinders Lacey Pennants.  I made a little snip between each hoop so I could bend it.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness is one of my favorite hymns!  Here's a couple of the verses...

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my FatherThere is no shadow of turning with TheeThou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail notAs Thou hast been, Thou forever will be
Great is Thy faithfulnessGreat is Thy faithfulnessMorning by morning new mercies I seeAll I have needed Thy hand hath providedGreat is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me

Glory to the newborn King - SCC #141

Christmas is getting closer and closer!!  :)  And to help us prepare, it's time for another challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenge! Our theme this month is "holly and/or ivy."

I've got some holly on my card...

My main panel is Scrapbook Customs Christmas Watercolor DP.  I cut Yvonne Creations Holly Jolly Music Border die in black, then red and green and trimmed the birds and holly.  I added used my Wink of Stella pen on the holly for some shimmer.  (See closeup below.) My heat embossed sentiment is Neat & Tangled Joyful Sentiments.

Maybe it's my laptop or my eyesight, but this looks kind of blah on my computer, but I really am pleased with how it turned out IRL.

Come on over and play along at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!!

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  This was a fun card to make!  I made it for my husband, and it made its way to his desk this morning along with a couple of donuts. :)

My paper is DCWV Pastel Patterns Mat Stack.  My image and sentiment are Honey Bee Stamps Love You S'More.  The main donut and sentiment are stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black, clear heat embossed, and colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.  The donuts on the BG are stamped with Hero Arts Soft Granite.

And here's our sketch...

Floral thank you - C4G #182

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!!  Our theme is "shades of blue"!  I have to tell you that I seldom use blue for girl cards, but I think I made it work...

This is very simple, but still pretty, IMHO ;)

My paper is from Pebbles Family Ties.  The flower is The Ton Peony Memories Cardmaking layered stamps.  It's stamped with Pinkfresh Studio Morning Sky and Over the Hills ink sets.  The sentiment is Poppystamps Playful Thank You.

FInd your shades of blue and come over to play along at Cardz 4 Galz #182!

Happy birthday - TMS #676

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I've got a fun birthday card for you...

My image is Digi Doodle Special Delivery.  If you visit my blog regularly, you know I often use a printed-and-waiting digital image because when I would print digital stamps, I usually made multiples to have on hand (or in case I'd mess up).  But let me tell you just how OLD this one is!  Click HERE to see when I used this image first... and most likely printed the one on today's card.  Yeah... 2012!  Ten. Years. Ago.

My paper is MME Portobello Road cut out with Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles.  My image is cut out with Die-versions Stitched Circles.  My sentiment is Sweet n Sassy Birthday Greetings and cut out with CottageCutz Stitched Rectangles.  The banners are Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.

Here's the fun sketch...
