Just a note - TMS #746

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  We've got a fun sketch and a fun request in the creating of your card, but first, here's my card...

My image is Polka Dot Flower from DRS Designs.  The sentiment is 1 Line Just a Note and also from DRS Designs.  I colored it with a Spectrum Noir marker and inked the edges.  The colored strips are TH dried marigold and forest moss Distress Inks.

Here's our fun sketch and Melissa has asked us to think "brush strokes" for the lines on the bottom.  I don't have paints, so I improvised and did some "swinking"!  That is swiping and inking.  I used the ink cubes listed above.  I really like the look of it!

I miss you - C4G #219

Hi!  It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme is "seascape."  We want to see whatever that means to you.  Most people think of a beach, but this image immediately came to mind and is a perfect representation of what I would see when I went to the bay/sea near where I grew up and also when I traveled... (Below I added a couple of pics I took when we were in northern Scotland several years ago.)

My image is Delicious Doodles Scottish Castle.  It does seem more of a masculine image, but it's all I had to represent the sea.  And I added sparkly dots to make more girly. :)   My DP is MME Portobello Road.  My sentiment is Raisin Boat You Said It! and cut out with Simon Says Stamp Tiny Tags.  Twine and adhesive dots from my stash finished it off.

Here are my pics taken in a small town on the North Sea in Scotland...

Happy Birthday - TMS #745

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  My weekend did not allow for as much time in my craft room as I'd hoped, so my file of ready-to-go digital items came to the rescue and made my card easy to create...

The BG paper is a Crate Paper scrap that was sitting on my desk after another project. :)  Digging through my file of printed digis, I found the iralamijashop musical print that I cut in 3.  The pre-colored digi image is from Doodle Pantry (so that tells you how long it's been waiting to be used!).  I did color the roses to make them darker to match the paper better.  Cut the image with CottageCutz Double Stitched Rectangles.   Because the sentiment was already on the image, I just added a tiny banner and some adhesive pearls.

Here's the sketch...

Thinking of you - TMS #744

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card for this week...

I cut a white panel and dry embossed it with Darice Brick.  I then inked it with TH Antique Linen.  My sentiment is Tonic Studios From the Heart Sentiments.  It's framed with a scrap I pulled from my trash can, literally! LOL  The ribbon and button are from my stash.

Here's our sketch... our first new sketch of 2024!

Faker shaker card - C4G #218

Hi!  It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  This time our theme is "'sequins"!  I have to admit that I am not a hug fan of sequins and glitter (I prefer just shimmer), so this was a challenge for me.  Then I remembered a YouTube video I'd watched recently on faker shaker cards and realized I could do that...

I make a top folding card out of pink cardstock.  I stenciled the flowers on white cardstock with Altenew Sweet Spring Stencil using Catherine Pooler Be Mine and Rockin' Red.  Here's where the "fake" part comes in.  I trimmed the stenciled panel and slid it into a card protector.  It was the perfect size to fit across the bottom.  I then poured in some FSJ Journey Sequins and FJS Star-fetti.  Then trimmed it leaving enough to fold over and secure.  The frame was cut large enough to cover/hide the edge and leave room to adhere it to the card.  "happy" is from an old word die set that I lost the packaging to a loooong time ago. "Birthday" is from Poppystamps Marzipan Greetings.

This was fun and much simpler than the "traditional" shaker card!  Here's a link to the video I watched...   Faker Shaker Cards

Golfer's birthday - TMS #743

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  My card is for my soon to be son-in-law.  He loves to golf!

My image is from Creative Fabrica.  I printed it on vellum and colored the back side because I wasn't sure whether the ink would mess with the printing or not.  I'm never sure which settings to use when printing vellum.  (Any suggestions would be welcome!)  I adhered it to white cardstock and framed it with the Paper Studio Silver cardstock cut with Scalloped Stitched Rectangles.  My sentiment is Raisin Boat You Said It cut out with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.

This sketch is our last revisit from last year.  It's Tammy's favourite... #719 played Aug 8...

Paper tree - SCC #157

Happy February 1st!   It's time for our new challenge at Sparkles Christmas  Challenge!  This month we want to see your Kraft Christmas cards!  Here's mine...

This was so easy and fun to make!  I embossed a panel with Cuttlebug Allegra embossing folder.   My paper strips are from all the sheets of paper left in my Christmas 6x6 pads that I didn't like enough to use. LOL  They are ok in little strips. :)   The star is Sweet n Sassy Stamps. I just realized I did not add a sentiment, but I think it's obvious that this is a Christmas card.  Plus I always stamp a Christmas greeting on the inside of my cards. ;)

Please come play along at Sparkles Christmas  Challenge this month!
