Happy Mother's Day - C4G #245

It is time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme is "Mother's Day or For a Special Friend or Lady."  In the UK (where this challenge is based), Mother's Day is Sunday, March 30.  It's not until May 11 here in North America, but I've got to mail my card to Canada, so I thought I'd get a head start! ;)

Here is my card...

This was so fun to make!  I recently got this cover plate die.  I wanted to keep the card simple but pretty, so I cut it out of white then heat embossed it with Stampendous Kaleidoscope.  It sparkles as you can see below.  My flowers are Honey Bee Stamps Darling Dahlias which I colored with my Spectrum Noir markers. (I know i used them in the last challenge, but I just got the set and really LOVE them!!) My sentiment is from Raisin Boat Marvelous Mom.
It's so pretty IRL, but it will still be easy to mail.  :)

I know you have a special lady in your life, so whether it be your mother or sister or friend or mentor or coworker, please make a card to show them your love, and be sure to share it with us at Cardz 4 Galz

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Happy Mother's Day Mum - C4G #224

Happy Thursday!  It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme is "Celebration" which can mean many things... Mother's Day, baby, graduation, wedding... we want to see what you are celebrating!  I made a Mother's Day card as that is coming soon here in the US and Canada, and I needed to make one for my mother...

My flowers are Altenew Sweet Spring layered stencil.  I used Catherine Pooler Samba and Coral Cabana inks. The script sentiment is Raisin Boat Marvelous Mom, and the die cut word is Simon Says Stamp Mum.  I added a few Nuvo Crystal Drops in Caramel Cream.  (I was impatient and when I added my panel to my card base, a couple of them flattened, but I guess that's ok because they surely will be squished in the mail.)

We'd love to have you come play along at Cardz 4 Galz!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Mother - C4G #198

Hello!  It's time for our challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!!  For this challenge, we want to see Mother's Day cards, or if you prefer, flowers for a friend.  I made a Mother's Day card...

I really have been lazy lately and letting the paper do the work. This is Prima Something Blue.   I guess I did the work on the flower, but it was awhile ago.  I found this one in my extra box. ;)  The flower is The Ton Peony Cardmaking Memories.  "Mother" is a die from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.

I know that Mother's Day is very hard for some of you, so know that you're thought of and prayed for, and here's a virtual hug from me to you!

Please come play along with our challenge!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Today is a great day because we are adding some new team members!!  Debi, Hetty, Margreet, and Tammy will be joining us!  Debi and Tammy will be full time, but Hetty and Margreet will be sharing the spot so we'll see them biweekly.  Check out the link to their blogs at the end of the post and go say hi!

Here's my card...

This card is for my mother for Mother's Day.  It will be here soon, and I need to get this in the mail so it makes it to her in Canada in time.

My DP is Pebble "Family Ties" and my flower is a very old Stampendous cling stamp that I stamped with Hero Arts Navy and colored with Spectrum Noir CT4.  My clear sentiment is from Raisin Boat "Marvelous Mom."

Mother - TMS #404

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

I realize that Mother's Day is long over, but I'm just now showing a Mother's Day card that I made...  (I'm not the best photographer by any stretch and most cards look better IRL.  This is no exception... I apologize that my pic makes it look really blah, but I assure you that the card is very pretty IRL!!)

My paper is Prima Stationer's Desk.  The sentiment is from Raisin Boat Marvelous Mom.  The "Mother" is Sweet 'n' Sassy Script Word Mother die.  I cut it in both black and the red scrap and glued them slightly offset for some dimension.  Ribbon is from my stash. I distressed the edges of a couple of the panels... which were all cut with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics.

A bit more "Mother's Day" for you...

I've got a card for a challenge to show you.  I made it early last week but didn't get it posted.  Today I realized I'd better get with it since the challenge ends late tomorrow!!

This is a CASE.  I saw this card and loved how Ellen had placed the stamp over the strip.   She explained that she stamped both the base and the strip and lined them up.  I am obviously a little dense and always stamped over the strip and was never pleased with the result.  Now I know the secret!!  :)

This is for Imagine That... digis by Kris: Progressive Challenge #6.  The image is Rose Blessings - Color.  I combined three flowers and fussy cut them.  My stamp is a rubber stamp from Stampendous.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

I know Mother's Day is still 2 days away, but I'm getting my wishes in early!  :)

Today at McMahon Five Designs, we are having flashback of some great images plus there are a couple of new digi papers you will LOVE!   Please go check out the DT's creations this week!!

My card is on it's way to Canada for my mother for Mother's Day.  *head bowed in shame* - it's going to be late!  I'm just trying to make her celebration last longer!!! ;-)

I think she'll like it!  I am pleased with it.  My image is from Floral Greetings...

My digi paper is from Soft Florals...

Sooo many pretty creations to see so be sure to check them out on the M5D blog.  Then go find these goodies in the M5D store and create your own!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Mother's Day card

My second post of the day!  :)  I spent much of the afternoon in my craft room working on projects and realized I needed to check Clearly iStamp's next challenge!   Challenge #3 is "pick a holiday - any holiday" and since I need to make quite a few of these, I went with Mother's Day.

The image is Jacaranda from Doodle Pantry.   I'm not a fan of purple, so it took we awhile to find paper to match the flower!   I had not printed any of the digi paper with the set. :/  This paper is g.c.d. Studios.    The sentiment came from Fancy Shoe COLOR Plus.    I used my Spellbinders to cut out the image and sentiment, used this MS border punch that I love, a scrap of ribbon, and some adhesive pearls to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Mother's Day cards... The End

Warning... this post is very pic heavy!

Here is my 6th (and last!) post of the Mother's Day cards I made.  (And the decorations etc for the Mother/Daughter luncheon are below)  This morning the kids in junior church were so happy to make a card for their mother!  They were just as excited to add the Hershey bar to it!  :)

Here they are...
Quick and easy with a pre-made card

~K&Co paper for all
~the infamous Stampendous stamp (I told you that was the only one I had)
~Flora Doodles  ( I got them in several colors and they are great!)

I spent a lot of time during the last 2 weeks preparing for our Mother/Daughter Luncheon.  Some time spent VERY frustrated!!  I cut the letters for the banners from light pink several times and had to throw them away!  They would not cut cleanly!  [it was HL cardstock... but the dark was the same kind and it cut out well.  ???] Then I remembered that I had some Cricut 12x24 cardstock.  The color was just a little different, but the letters cut like butter!!!

"welcome" banner

rosette made of old music I had

Western font cut in MTC

treble clef cut from Quarter Note at 1 1/2"
On the walls...(all cut from Quarter Note)
trumpet

French horn

eighth note

half note

lg rosette from old sheet music

flute

cello - why no violin on cart??

2 eighths

saxaphone
Here are the take home favors... flowers for ladies, sour cream containers (with kisses inside) for children...

I needed almost 50 of each
Forgot to take a pic of the program.  It had music in the background in pink (digi stamp) and the info in black.  They looked very vintage with all the spots my printer left on them!!

Thanks for stopping by!!  Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers!!

Mother's Day card take....??

I think I've lost count of the Mother's Day cards I've made!!  :)

This is for the challenge over at Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge #12 - sketch

Thanks for stopping!!  My next post will be the last in the Mother's Day card saga.  :)

"Sweet" Mother's Day card

Well, the card is not really sweet.. it's more flowery, but the challenge is sweet!  This is my first time playing over at The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog.  They have a new sketch every Saturday.  This is for challenge SSS158.

CAS Mother's Day card

Mother's Day is tomorrow!  For my junior church kids, I made cards so the children from each family can give a card (and chocolate) to their mother.  {Not enough time to make one for every child to give!}  I need 9 of them made today, so I needed CAS designs!!  Challenge sketches to the rescue!  Best place to start?  clean&simple: 190  I made 2 using this sketch.

This has been a busy day... Mother/Daughter Luncheon, NYSSMA for my daughter, making 9 Mother's Day cards...  so I'm off to bed!!  I post more cards tomorrow.

~Paper Studio cardstock
~Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug embossing folder
~Stampendous sentiment stamp
~Flora Doodle
~punches
~white gel pen

This was made using a pre-made card and scraps.  Very quick and easy!!  *It looks better IRL!! :/
Thanks for dropping by!!

Mother's Day card #2

I did have time to make 2 cards this afternoon, so here is the second one.  When I saw the sketch, I was not sure what to do, but once I started, it all came together quickly.  Now I just LOVE the sketch!! :)  It was really fun to work with!

Challenge...
iSpy Sketches: ISSC15 - sketch

~K&Co dsp
~Paper Studio cardstock
~rubber sentiment stamp *it's the only Mother's Day stamp I have so you may see it a lot since our printer is still acting up so I can't even computer generate or use a digi!  Grrr!
~Stampendous embossing powder
~Flora Doodles flowers
~ribbon from stash

Happy Mother's Day card

Finally, all the favors and decorations were made for our Mother/Daughter Luncheon tomorrow.    [Demented as I am, I forgot to take any pictures after decorating!  I'll try to remember tomorrow!]
Am I the only one who seems to spend soooooo much time, and when it is all done, it looks like it really should not have taken me all those hours??   Oh well!

On to Mother's Day!  My mother won't be here on Sunday, but my parents are coming on Tuesday, so that's not too far off!   They will come bearing ketchup chips and Crunchie bars, I hope!!!   :)

I teach junior church on Sunday mornings and wanted to make a card for each child to give their mother.  I only started today, so we may have to go with a card for each family, but we'll see how tomorrow goes.  Here's the first one...

Challenges...
Freshly Made Sketches #34 - sketch  --I realized that my paper actually has a distressed look to it... I hope that doesn't make my card "unclean"!! :)
The Cuttlebug Spot - "Flowers for Mom"
Celebrate the Occasion #62 - Mother's Day

~Recollections "Charming" dsp
~rubber sentiment stamp
~Nesties scalloped oval and oval
~Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder
~flower, brads, and ribbon from stash

Shoes, shoes, and more shoes!!

I am surrounded by 80 pairs of shoes!!!  Unfortunately, they are not size 6 1/2!  They are made of paper.   They are the favor holders for our church's Mother/Daughter Luncheon on Saturday.   They were fun to make except when I had to fight with my adhesive.  Grr!!

Here they all are with the candy treat...

I found the Marie Antoinette shoe HERE  (* I did a pixel trace into MTC and widened the upper so that I could fit the treat in it)

I found the mule pattern HERE

Making this many, I did not have time to really make them fancy, but I am pleased with the result.  (And I just found out that there may be more ladies so I need to make a few more!)
I used the Paper Studio Mirabelle paper and K & Co Classic K 2 sided.   They took a LOT of adhesive, too.  I used my ATG because the little runners did not hold well enough.

update... here are a couple of pics of these set on the tables

Thanks for stopping by!!!
