A bit more Christmas and some news

Happy New Year to you!  May 2015 be a blessed year for you and yours!  [2015??? How can that be???]

I've got a few cards that I made at the last minute.  I'm so terrible and very ashamed of myself this year.  MOST of our friends only got a Facebook greeting from us.  I started early and sent handmade cards to all of our family, but then life got in the way and I only sent a very few store-bought cards to some friends.  :(   Next year, I will do better!!

These are made using French Horn PDF Card Fronts Kit and COLOR French Horn from Doodle Pantry.  Some have more detail than others, and all were fairly quick and easy but still pretty!

All I did here was mat it and tie a narrow gold ribbon.
I printed 2 of these and cut the green shape and popped it up a bit, then added a few adhesive pearls.
This was matted twice and the bow fussy cut and popped up.
The red mat was embossed and the gray was distressed.
Matted the image and embossed a border punched strip.

Image was matted and ribbon gathered with a star brad.
Challenges...
Sister Act #87 - anything goes
Word Art Wednesday #163 - anything goes with uplifting sentiment
Die Cut Divas Dec - Snow and Christmas/Holidays (2nd entry) -I used Spellbinders Labels 8 and 15 and 5
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I said I had some news. Some sad, but some good and fun!  It's about Doodle Pantry.  Since she explained it well, I've just copied most of what Laurie posted at the DP blog...

1. First, a very unfortunate announcement.  Due to the VAT law changes in the European Union, the shop can no longer sell digital products to those living in a member country of the European Union, countries listed here, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.

How am I regulating the sales?

  • The Paypal account will no longer accept payments from those with residential addresses in a European Union member country.
  • Likewise, a pending order with a balance due will be cancelled immediately, and the downloads will NEVER be activated.
  • If by a freak of technical chance, a payment actually goes through from someone in a European Union country, your order will still not be activated.
  • I do believe, however, anyone can win and use a PRIZE won from a challenge, as long as after you use the prize amount, there is not a balance due.  So I certainly hope those in the European Union will still play our challenge as well as those whom we sponsor for a chance to win.

2. IN January, we are changing our release days.  We will have between 2-5 NEW products EVERY Tuesday, 4 Tuesdays each month!!!  And when you shop on a Tuesday, the NEWLY released products on that day, will be marked 20% OFF!  But only on the Tuesday they are released!

3. Our Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge (DPDC) is GOING AWAY!

4. And a NEW challenge is starting!  What's the new challenge called?  It will be called Ants In My Pantry Digital Challenge (AIMPDC)! It will start on the FIRST Tuesday, and will accept entries for 2-1/2 weeks and winners announced on the 4th Monday of the month.

  • The monthly challenge will have THEMES.
  • There is no featured product.
  • Only enter once, follow theme guidelines.
  • Two winners are chosen by random.
  • I think it is going to be a lot of fun!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Sooooo, I'm very sorry for DP's European customers!  But remember you can still play the challenge and win and get free product.

Gift box - TMS #281

Happy Tuesday to you!!  While it's almost time for Christmas, it really is time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

This week we don't have a sketch for you.  :-O  Are you shocked?  I am!  LOL
This week is our Annual "Anything Goes" Challenge.  That means you can create anything you want to share with us!!  Also, this challenge will last for 2 weeks.  That's right, you'll have until Sunday, Jan 4, to create something wonderful to share with us!

I've made a gift box.  I'm going to put a picture of my  husband's present in it.  [Why a pic?  Because the actual item is not yet available.  :/ ]

This was really fun to make!  The instructions can be found in THIS POST at Crescent Stampin'.   I left off the handle, but made the box using the instructions there.  My base is Cutmates CS.  I used Neenah Desert Storm CS, Paper Studio Kraft Christmas DP.  The image is FTHS December Stamp of the Month image... Christmas Spirit Birdbrain.  So cute!
I wrapped the box with burlap, cut the image with Spellbinders, added a  Sweet n Sassy die cut snowflake, and a brad.
I loved last week's sketch so much that I used it as inspiration for my decorated panel...

On the lid, I added an EK Success punched snowflake, a large brad, and the sentiment.

Our very own Melissa is sponsoring this week with a gift card or shopping voucher.  To where is a surprise, but I guarantee that it will be something you'll love!!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!  It's my prayer that you know the Christ of CHRISTmas as you own personal Lord and Saviour!!

Challenges...
Die Cut Divas Dec Challenge - snow and Christmas/Holidays
Bearly Mine Dec Challenge - Christmas anything but a card
Sentimental Sundays #238 - anything but a card

***I apologize to my commenters!!  Blogger or Google or somebody else added "Captcha" so you have to put in a number in order to publish your comment.  I do not have it set for that and it annoys me, so I am trying to figure out how to get rid of it.  Any suggestions welcome!  Yes, I do have "word verification" set to off.  ????   Sorry!!

Winter fun!

I love fun in the SNOW!   We got some snow last week, but it has all since melted. *sad face*  I know many people don't like winter, and I think they just need to get out and ski or skate or get on a sled!!  (My chiropractor would disagree with the last one, but I love it!)  Here's a fun pair of friends sledding...

My image is Charlie Sledding from Doodle Pantry.  My DP was from my scrap pile.  The wave border is Fiskars, basic twine, and finished off with a button from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #277

Happy Tuesday to you!!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  In a couple of days, many of us will be overeating at our Thanksgiving dinner, but I hope you take time to be thankful to God for all His wonderful blessings!!  I'm so thankful that my parents are here with us this week.  (They had Thanksgiving last month, so they are getting turkey overload this year!)  I'm also thankful for one of my blessings who will be celebrating his birthday on Thursday.  Our son will be 13 years old!  (It will be "official" -- I will have my fourth teenager) I'm so thankful for him!

Be thankful!  But my card is a Christmas card. :)  My DP is Basic Grey 12x12 Wassail that I got a couple of years ago and LOVED!  I thought I had used it all, but I was going through my paper and was excited to find a few stray pieces that I put straight to work!!

Our sponsor this week is Dies R Us.  They have a wonderful selection of dies from so many different companies.  I wish I could win this week! LOL  After embossing folders, dies are my next love. ♥

Rudy Doody Reindeer - TMS #276

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!   Thanks to those who participated in our awesome judged challenge last week... almost every entry used the twist!! :)

This week, I've got a fun Christmas card to show you...

I apologize for the poor quality of my picture!  My laptop is dying, so when this pic was taken and I didn't get a chance to edit it or add my watermark.  Believe it or not, it is Kraft paper though it looks a bit pink-ish in the pic. :/  The DP is K&Co Mod Holiday Design.  I used Cuttlegbug's Swiss Dots EF.  My image is Diane's Daydream Designs Rudy Doody the Reindeer.

Diane of Diane's Daydream Designs is our sponsor for this week...

Here's our great sketch by Jessi...

Harvest Bounty

I love fall!  Beautiful leaves, pumpkins (for decorating, not eating!), the fresh feeling of the chill in the air... I could go on and on, but now all the leaves have fallen, the grass is dead, and we have a bit of snow!  So though this card is all about fall and Thanksgiving, it's almost out of date already. :)

I used Card Cut Pumpkin SVG e-cuttable.  This set is one of Doodle Pantry's November's releases.  To give the flower some dimension, I used my stylus and rubbed it over the petals and leaves.  The image is an outline from Harvest Bounty colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!

TMS #274-Judged Challenge

Today is Remembrance Day (if you're in Canada or Britain)
or Veterans Day (if you're in the US).

Take a moment to remember those who have served and those who have given all.  If you see a serviceman/woman and have the opportunity, say "thank you" to them.  While at an airport last week, we saw a young man in a wheelchair.  As he turned, we saw he had no legs.  My husband went up to the man and his wife, asked if he had served, and thanked them for their service.  The man was appreciative, and then the wife said, "I didn't do anything." Oh yes, she did!  She waited for her soldier and is by his side now as life will never be the same again.  If any of my readers are serving or have served.  I want to say thank you!!!

My image is Acorn Mouse.  I colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers. The sentiment was printed and sitting on my desk and I can't remember where it's from.  My DP was also sitting on the shelf after being torn out of a stack, so I can't remember where it came from either!  My leaves -for the challenge of "Pumpkins & Leaves"- are the brads that I bought these brads the first scrapbook I ever made back in 2005.   I am really using my "stash" this week!!
