Spring-y "welcome" wreath

Isn't it funny how quickly we get spoiled?  We've had almost 2 weeks of nice warm weather (60's, 70's and a couple of 80 degree days) but today was only about 50 and it felt so chilly.  Of course, if this had been a normal spring, we would have been thrilled with today's temp!  But whatever the temperature, spring officially arrived this past week, and so it's time for spring crafts!

In the fall, I made a wreath that has been hanging on our school room door, and I had intended/hoped to change it every season or holiday.  Well, I missed a few - ok, I missed a bunch! - but at least spring is covered now! :)

"home tweet home" card

I don't have either "Straight from the Nest" or "Stretch Your Imagination" they suggest over at BBTB2 for this week's challenge and blog hop, but I do have DS, so I made my own birdhouse.

How did I do it?

I cut the dreidel from JOTS, turned it upside down, trimmed the handle, and cut a circle from the middle for the house itself.  Welded a couple of shapes from GBS for the roof.  Used a rounded rectangle for the 'floor'
~ Bazzill cardstock
~ Blossoms and Butterflies paper
~ swirl border from Joys of the Seasons
~ bird from A Child's Year
~ 'home tweet home' is from Tear Drop cut at 1"
~heart and branch are from Sweethearts (I wanted to use the kissing birds, too, but they didn't cut well that small)

Another Christmas card - jingle belles

Making Christmas cards in February is kind of fun.  Not being under pressure to get them done is nice!  :D

The jingle belles prompt for this week is "text me."  That means use some paper or have a text on your card somewhere.  I chose to use paper with a text... Merry Christmas!  Appropriate for a Christmas card, don't you think?

I will probably make more like this using Coke paper that I have.  My hubby collects Coke memorabilia and I am addicted to really like diet Coke, so it would be cool.  I think the Coke ads with the bear are so cute!

What I used:
~Tan cardstock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" for card
~black linen texture cardstock
~'Merry Christmas' paper from DCWV Christmas holiday stack
~polar bear from Joys of the Season cut at 2 1/2" and shadowed - *Edit-  I obviously forgot to add the shadow!! Grr!
~scarf cut from DCWV glitter mat stack
~glitter glue to add some sparkle to the stars
~ribbon from my stash

Valentine Snowman card for Cricut Cardz Challenge #58

I started doing card challenges just last week and have enjoyed it so much that I went looking for more.  This is my take on the Cricut Cardz Challenge #58... use a snowman from any Cricut cartridge.  I am in valentine mode so I thought "why not a snowman valentine card?" and came up with this little guy.  Hope you like him!

(Sorry for the shadow on the bottom!)

What I used:
  • A2 ready made card
  • Pink background is from SB sized to 5.5"x4.25".  Hearts are from DC
  • My snowman is from DC and is cut at 2-2-1/2" with a black shadow, brown 'blackout', and white body.  I hid the eye, mouth, and button contours in DS and made my own
  • The scarf and shoes are from the JOTS snowman...  I widened the scarf to fit this guy's neck and trimmed the excess from the ends
  • Tags are from VMT
  • Words are from DT and welded
