Inking and embossing and die cutting, oh my!

Hi!  I had some time to play in my craft room and had fun with embossing and dies and made a Christmas card for a few challenges...

Dry embossing has always been my favorite technique.  It just adds so much to any card, IMHO.  But when I discovered adding ink to the EF, I think it takes it to another level.  This is Spellbinders Poinsettia 3D embossing folder that I inked with Tsukeniko Moonlight White ink.  I then spattered some watered down paint, but the cardstock was damp from the ink, so it ended up more pink than white.   The poinsettia is Poppystamps Delicate Poinsettia cut from vellum.  I colored the leaves with a green Copic.  My sentiment is Tailored Expressions All Together - Occasions 3, stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed in gold.  I have made/will be making more like this.  So easy, yet so classy!

Challenges:
Die Cut Divas October - AG with die cuts
12 Months of Christmas Link Up #127 - AG Christmas w/ opt twist (I did AG)
Allsorts Challenge #834 - Traditional Christmas Colors (red, green, gold)
Crafty Catz #702 - embossing
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Christmas (I used a Spellbinders EF)

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Musical Merry Christmas - CCC #39

I love Christmas!  The special time set aside to celebrate Christ's birth... our Saviour was born to die so that I might live!   One of the blessings of Christmas time is Christmas Carols!!  {It is also true that at our house, you just might hear Christmas Carols throughout the whole year. :)  And we all are singing along!}   A few weeks ago, I got a new die... music notes!!  :)  I love it and will be using it a lot on my Christmas cards!

My wonderful new die is Memory Box Music Virtuoso.  The other bits are from a Memory Box Snowflake Tree that I ripped apart.  My image and sentiment are French Horn Color Plus from Doodle Pantry.  They are cut with Spellbinders Standard Circles, Spellbinders Labels 35, and Spellbinders Petite Ovals.  My DP is Graphic 45 A Christmas Carol.  I made a double bow with a scrap of ribbon.  The edges are chalked.

You might have guessed that our challenge today at Christmas Card Challenges has the optional photo inspiration... music notes!!

Challenges...
ABC Christmas - R is for rip it (I ripped apart my die cut-hope that counts)
12 Months of Christmas #21 - anything goes or optional theme (I did AG)

For unto you is born this day... - CCC #28

Good morning/afternoon to you!!  It's time for Christmas Card Challenges!   Here's my card...

My paper is all from my scrap pile. [I think that box could keep me busy creating for years!]   Some of my pieces are distressed and everything is inked with TH walnut stain.  My image and sentiment are FTHS Bethlehem.  They are cut using Spellbinders Standard Circles and Matting Basics. (I rounded one end in a circle punch.)  The finishing touches are some adhesive pearls, a metal brad, and some hemp twine.

This week, the challenge's inspiration is a word prompt: Religious.   But remember the only rule is that you make a Christmas/holiday card and this inspiration is optional.
