Congrats Grad - TMS #709

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  As promised, more grad cards...  (And I promise I will show you my daughter's grad card soon.  It's my favorite!)

The paper is DCWV All About Boys.  The stamp, die, and sentiment are all from Sweet n Sassy Graduation.  I like the striped one best even though it's hard to see that it actually follows the sketch!  :)

Here's the sketch...

congratulations - TMS #708

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  And time for another grad card...

This one was fun!  I created the BG by stamping the mortar board from Sweet n Sassy Stamps Graduation on the woodgrain paper from my scrap box.  I cut the sentiment twice from 110 lb black cardstock so it has nice dimension.  It is from an unbranded set of words that I got free with an order years ago.  The banners are from Spellbinders Ribbon Banners.

The grad parties are still happening, so I'll have another grad card next week. :)

Here's this week's fun sketch...

Praying for you - C4G #199

Good morning to you!  It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme is "backgrounds" which opens up soooo many possibilities!!

My last couple of weeks have been very busy with work, travel, and graduations, so I was happy to find a BG that I had created a couple of months ago just waiting to be used! :)

Here's my card...

I had colored the background with some water color pencils.  I didn't add any water, so you can see it was just colored and not blended, but I liked it.  I added a BG stamp to it.  This is Neat & Tangles Punchinella stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves.   My flower is Hero Arts Mum Stem colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.  The sentiment is from The Project Bin Defined cut out with a fishtail banner from Spellbinders Lacey Pennants.  I know that I recently made a similar card with this stamp and sentiment, but I have many friends who need this encouragement right now!

Please come over and join us at Cardz 4 Galz!!   Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Congrats grad - TMS #707

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  And it's graduation season, so I'll have a few grad cards to share over the next couple of weeks.  Here's this week's card...

I dry embossed a panel of the Paper Studio The Linen Door paper with Lifestyle Crafts Whimsy embossing folder.  The cap and sentiment are Sweet n Sassy Stamps Graduation stamp and die set.  The stars are a Martha Stewart border punch.

I mentioned that it's graduation season.  Though this isn't her card, this past weekend, we were in FL for my youngest daughter's college graduation. She finished in December but wanted to march and see all her friends.  Here's our beautiful grad!!

Here's our fun sketch...

Someone I love was born today - TMS #706

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card...

This is put together with bits and pieces of papers that matched. :)  I cut 2 wide fishtail banners and hid the ends behind the stitched circles.   My sentiment is The Project Bin Born Yesterday.   It could work for anyone, but it has a more masculine look to it.  I tend to struggle making masculine cards, but I think this turned out great, so I may CASE it in the future.

Here's the sketch...

Mother - C4G #198

Hello!  It's time for our challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!!  For this challenge, we want to see Mother's Day cards, or if you prefer, flowers for a friend.  I made a Mother's Day card...

I really have been lazy lately and letting the paper do the work. This is Prima Something Blue.   I guess I did the work on the flower, but it was awhile ago.  I found this one in my extra box. ;)  The flower is The Ton Peony Cardmaking Memories.  "Mother" is a die from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.

I know that Mother's Day is very hard for some of you, so know that you're thought of and prayed for, and here's a virtual hug from me to you!

Please come play along with our challenge!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Praying for you - TMS #705

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  And I did not get my post ready on time, so I'm late!! :/

Here's my card...

I have a friend having serious brain surgery tomorrow, so I made this for her.  The Simple Stories "simple vintage botanicals" pad was on my table from last week's card, so I used it.  I intended to make this a shaker card, but I forgot to add the acetate before adding the dimensional tape to the back.  Duh!!
For the "window," I used Hero Arts Paper Layering Wooden Door.  The butterflies are fussy cut from the paper, and I  placed them on some branches that were in my "extra" box.  I had several of this sentiment printed so I cut it and tied some pink twine to it.

Here's our sketch...

Better together - SCC #148

Happy May 1st to you!  It's time for another challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!  This month, our theme is "include a sleigh."  Here's mine...

I inked my BG first, then stamped and heat embossed my image.  I then inked some shadows and added the sentiment.  A bit of twine from my stash finished it off.  My sleigh is Sweet n Sassy Stamps Old-Fashioned Christmas.  The sentiment is from MTF Cool Christmas.

I've not been in a sleigh just like this one, but as a teen and young adult, I had so much fun on sleigh rides in the winter.  One of the best parts was hopping off and running ahead, hiding in the trees to shake the branches so the snow would fall on everyone as the sleigh came past. LOL  Sadly, where I live now, we don't get enough snow for sleigh rides! :(

So find your sleighs and make your card to join our challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!
