Thankful - TMS #477

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I'm excited about my card this week because while I'm not an embellishing queen, I tend to struggle with CAS cards.  But I was able to make one that I like!  Once you see the sketch, you'll realize that it is perfect for either category.   Take a look...

I will admit this took a couple of tries before I was happy with the result, but I really like it.  All my elements are stamped with Raisin Boat "Thankful" except for the MME fishtail.

Challenges...
CAS-ual Friday CFC #211 - photo inspiration
Crazy for CAS #10 - fall in love/photo inspiration

Here's the awesome sketch...  Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to go check out the creations from the TMS DT...

Happy Thanksgiving and have a good day!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my family and friends in Canada!! (Wish I were there, too!)

Wherever you are, I hope you have a good day!  Here's my card wishing you a good day today...

My card features a Dood Pantry image... Baby Sea Turtle.  The DP is some last few pages of a 7 Gypsies 6x6 pad I've had for a long time.  The border is Fiskars.

**This week, Doodle Pantry is sponsoring Craft Your Passion with a theme of Always Anything Goes, so be sure to play along over there.

Challenges I'm playing along with...
Crafting From the Heart #81 - anything goes
Stamp and Create October Challenge - brown or Kraft
613 Avenue Create #145 - anything goes and/or optional use free sentiments (I went AG)
Chocolate, Coffee, & Cards #101 - animals (is a sea turtle technically an animal? I hope so!)

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Harvest lunch bag centerpieces

On Saturday evening, we just had our Harvest Dinner at our church.  I was in charge of the decorations.   We did have some cornstalks, hay bales, and mums in the corner, but the main focus was on the tables.  Our tables are not very wide and there was going to be some food on them, so whatever I make has to take up pretty small spaces.  After searching and trying a few things I did not like, I came up with "bag vases."   I didn't get very good pics of the final product, but they worked will with the brown table runner, our orange chairs [ yuck!!  :-P ], and a fall theme.

K & Co fall paper was cut down to 8 1/2" x 11" so I could print verses on it.  I then used Spellbinders Labels Eight to cut them out, inked the edges, and mounted on larger labels.

I embossed the bottom part of the lunch bags...

I then opened it and placed 2 more bags inside to give it more stability to stand, inked the edges, and folded the top down...

I forgot a pic, but inside the bag, I glued down a chunk of Styrofoam  and added a few glass beads for weight. I glued 2 verse panels back to back with a wooden skewer in between, joined the skewer to a leaf bunch (dollar store!!!), added a bit of raffia (hard to see), poked it into the Styrofoam, then tied 2 lengths of twine to cinch the bag a bit.

Here's the final product again...

Happy Thanksgiving to you!!   Only two more days until many of us will eat waaaaaay too much!!!  I will have to say that a turkey dinner is right up there on my list of most enjoyed meals!!  The mashed potatoes and gravy are the best part of it all, IMHO! :)

All the talk of food aside, be sure to count your blessings this week!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I know it's not Thanksgiving yet, and today, it is actually Happy Birthday to me, but I don't  make myself cards, so I have a Thanksgiving card to show you. :)  "How old are you?" you ask... I'm 29... for the 18th time!!  ;)

My next several posts are scheduled in case we are without power this week as expected.  We are inland and won't have the difficulties those of you along the coast, but are in a valley so we may have some flooding and power outages.  So if I'm not heard from for awhile, that is why.  Stay safe all you on the East coast and in the Northeast!!

Here is my Thanksgiving card made with an image from Daydream Designs.   This pre-colored digi is from the Blessings of the Harvest Color Set.

I combined the image and sentiment before printing, embossed and cut a 'top' layer, added a ribbon, button, and some pearls and here we are...

Thanks for stopping by and even though it is not Thanksgiving yet, be thankful for your blessings today!!

simple "So Thankful" card

I love fall colors, fall scents, and fall activities!  (I just don't like the getting chilly part since I'm shivering most of the year!!)  We went apple picking yesterday and had a great time.  Not sure if we will make it to our local pumpkin patch this year.  Their times are limited since they were flooded, too.  I like pumpkin seeds, but that is about all I like about pumpkins... other than their color! :)  But I really like the Thanksgiving cartridge and this cut!

I'm submitting it to 3 challenges...
~Stampin' Sisters in Christ - use fruit (pumpkin IS a fruit)
~Fantabulous Cricut - 'pumpkin time'
~Clean and Simple - sketch ...this is my first time participating over there :)

I cut this card a little larger than A2 to fit some envies that I have.
~Bazzill CS (embossed the background with Divine Swirls)
~DCWV Rustic Stack DSP
~pumpkin from Thanksgiving cart cut at 1 3/4"
~Threading Waters Fiskars border punch
~Sentiment from Doodle Pantry's "Harvest Bounty" set

Thanks for looking!!!!
