Inking and embossing and die cutting, oh my!

Hi!  I had some time to play in my craft room and had fun with embossing and dies and made a Christmas card for a few challenges...

Dry embossing has always been my favorite technique.  It just adds so much to any card, IMHO.  But when I discovered adding ink to the EF, I think it takes it to another level.  This is Spellbinders Poinsettia 3D embossing folder that I inked with Tsukeniko Moonlight White ink.  I then spattered some watered down paint, but the cardstock was damp from the ink, so it ended up more pink than white.   The poinsettia is Poppystamps Delicate Poinsettia cut from vellum.  I colored the leaves with a green Copic.  My sentiment is Tailored Expressions All Together - Occasions 3, stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed in gold.  I have made/will be making more like this.  So easy, yet so classy!

Challenges:
Die Cut Divas October - AG with die cuts
12 Months of Christmas Link Up #127 - AG Christmas w/ opt twist (I did AG)
Allsorts Challenge #834 - Traditional Christmas Colors (red, green, gold)
Crafty Catz #702 - embossing
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Christmas (I used a Spellbinders EF)

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

A little girl's birthday - C4G #261

Hi!  It is time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  This time, we are creating for little gals!  Our theme is "for a little girl."

Here's my card...

My little girl silhouette is Birdie Brown.  I colored the flowers and added some Wink of Stella for a little shimmer.  My paper is dry embossed with Cuttlebug Heritage.  My sentiment is Penny Black Your Day.  I embossed it with Ranger Chunky EP, so it's super shiny.

We'd love to have you come play along at Cardz 4 Galz!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Floral thanks - C4G #260

Hello!  It is time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz!  Our theme is "purple and green" for this challenge.  (I don't care for purple, so this was really a challenge for me! LOL)

Here's my card...

My flowers are Hero Arts Layering Peonies Bunch Stencil.  I used TH distress oxide inks, then used Versamark on the last layer for some shine and dimension. (See closeup below.)  I fussy cut one side of the flowers then cut with Echo Park Stitched Squares.  And cut the frame with a larger size.  My sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps Framed Anemones.

Be merry - SCC #177

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!  This month we want to see your cards made using non-traditional colors.  I love my red and green for Christmas, but it's fun to explore other options.

Here's my card...

I trimmed my card base so it is a 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 square.  I dry embossed a piece of Hobby Lobby O Holy Night paper with Darice Snowflake Swirl and added a navy border on the sides.  My snowflake is TH Vault Winter Wishes.  I added some TH Snowfall Grit Paste which kind of looks like snow on it.  (See closeup below.)  My sentiment is My Craft Spot Joy to the World and cut out with SSS Tiny Tags and attached to the snowflake with baker's twine from my stash.

We'd love to have you come play along at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!
