Christmas thank you
I had a moment of panic --actually more like several hours of panic-- this week. I'm ashamed to admit that I am just now writing my Christmas "thank you"s to church folk. *red face*
I'd put it off tooooo long, so I got the thank you cards I had made, grabbed a nice pen, was all ready to write, and then could NOT find my list!!! What if I forgot someone????? Thankfully, I eventually did find the list but then realized I needed a couple more cards, so I made some including this one....
Supplies...
~MME Sweater Weather DP (I just LOVE this 6x6 pad!!!!!)
~PTI sentiment
~Spellbinders Ovals and Scalloped Ovals
~AC ribbon
~white gel pen
~buttons and hemp cord from my stash
Challenges...
The Sweet Stop: SS195 - sketch
Sentimental Sundays #139 - thank you
Die Cuttin Divas #100 - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - anything goes
Twisted Tuesday 2TC42 - "free for all" anything goes (my second entry here)
Merry Monday #47 - tic tac toe (I did across the bottom - designer paper, red and green, ribbon)
*not sure if this really qualifies for MM since it not technically a Christmas card though it is for Christmas :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Chalkboard Valentine
Wow! Did I ever 'get my sparkle on' this week!! I have made 9 cards in the last 2 days! I posted one of them this afternoon, and I've got 2 to show you now. The others are for design team commitments, so they have to wait. (It's nice to be ahead a bit!!) That's also why I haven't been visiting your blogs!
For this first card, my image is from the Chalkboard Valentine Love Digi Set from Daydream Designs.
I used the sketch from Mojo Monday 278 (sketch round or square).
This chalkboard set is awesome!!
The DP is from the Retro Paper Pack - Warm.
I also used a MS border punch, Colormates cardstock, Kraft paper, Paper Studio wood grain embossing folder, scalloped punch, Flora Doodle flower, and ribbon from my stash.
This second card also has Daydream Designs images...
I'm submitting this to Cut It Up! Challenge #11 - Love is in the air
I used...
Love Me True Digi Paper Pack
I also used Swiss Dots embossing folder, Spellbinders Circles and Scalloped Circles, baker's twine, and a large brad.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!
Just a note
*Click HERE or scroll down for my Tuesday Morning Sketches post*
I intended to post this last night, but got watching the 1983 mini series of "Jane Eyre" with my girls and time got away from me. (Timothy Dalton is amazing as Mr Rochester, IMHO!) Are we the only ones, or do you start speaking "properly" after watching something like that? For example, my daughter was telling us how someone had been "ill treated."
For this card, I tried a new technique for me. I LOVE embossing, and I dry emboss on almost every project I make! But this has a little more... it is inking and double embossing... I inked the 'flat' side of the embossing folder with the lighter ink and embossed. Then inked the raised side with the darker ink and embossed again. I love the effect, but do you all see my error???? Grrr!! Next time, I'll use swirls or flowers instead! Just hold your computer in front of a mirror and it will be right. LOL You won't be able to read the sentiment, but oh well! Live and learn!
Supplies...
~Paper Studio Music Notes embossing folder
~Tim Holtz 'tea dye' and 'vintage photo' distress inks
~TPC Studios clear sentiment
~ribbon scrap
Challenges...
Paper Pretties PWC 242 - new technique
Twisted Tuesday 2TC42 - anything goes
Paper Playtime Ch#2 - use brown
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!
Tuesday Morning Sketch #183
It's Tuesday! Everyone always seems to be looking forward to Friday --I do love Fridays because we always make homemade stuffed crust pizza!!-- but I like Tuesday, too! In college, I had a professor that 'renamed' the weekdays: Tuesday Eve, Tuesday, Hump Day, Friday Eve, and Friday. Tuesday must be good... it's the only other one named with Friday! :)
I also like Tuesday because that means it is time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!! This week, we are sponsored by Lil' Inkers. Thanks to our teamie Laura for providing us with some cute images!! Thank you, Laura!!

Christmas caroling
I got to spent some unexpected time in my craft room this morning but was unable to use my printer, so I made up a quick Christmas card with a digi I already had printed...
The digi is Doodle Pantry Caroling Friends. I used the sketch from Merry Monday again because it's so 'flat card' friendly! After trying to mail embellished cards, I realize that this year I need many more flat cards!!
Well, I had fun playing, but now there is work to do!!
Thanks for stopping by!!

"Let not your heart be troubled"
I don't think any of us would argue about the fact that we live in troubled times!!! But the wonder of it all is that we don't need to be troubled about it! God's promises are true in good times and bad! He is faithful and He will (if we let Him) give peace in the midst of our storms!
With that in mind, this digi from Doodle Pantry was perfect!! This is so beautiful and encouraging!! The image is from Cattail Pond Color Plus. This is an older digi that Laurie colored this month.
This took me several days to get finished because life kept interrupting me!!

Aren't these ants just the cutest?? Can you believe I just said that?!!? Ants (and mice) are one of those that are so fun in crafting and not so fun in real life!!!
All of the new releases are fantastic so be sure to check them out over at Doodle Pantry!!
I used...

Tuesday Morning Sketch #180
Happy Tuesday to you!! Time for Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge!
We've got a fun sketch and a great sponsor... Freckled Fawn! The winner of this week's challenge will receive a $20 gift card!!! They have an amazing selection of Washi tape as well an many other wonderful embellishments!
Here's my card...
Mine is very CAS for a couple of reasons... I need masculine cards in my supply (they need to be more on the CAS side, I think) and this tape was the only one I have! :) My tape is not Washi tape, but it was fun to work with. Using it 3 times but putting on different cardstocks, each one looks a different shade. The yellow strip is on white CS, the greenish is on black, and the lowest strip is directly on the card.
This sketch by Melissa was fun to work with!
~Colormates Molasses cardstock
~Scotch 'leopard' tape
~Paper Studio brad
~rubber stamp from ?? (I think M's $1 bin!)
~Spellbinder Circles
~hemp cord
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to go check out the creations from the rest of our DT...

Snowman thank you
Today was a sad day! It was warm and sunny and much of our snow melted! *moment of silence*
I spent very little time crafting lately, but did get some Christmas thank you cards made. I need a few more and am hoping that this week things get back to 'normal'! Ha!
Though a little bit crazy, this week was great! We ate lots and lots of bad-for-us food (more on that below) and got to go skiing on Friday. :)
Here's one of my thank you cards...
Challenges...
Card Crafter's Circle #56 - "there's no business like snow business"
Chocolate, Coffee, and Cards #29 - snowmen
CAS-ual Fridays: CF84 - thank you
Now I'll show you a beautiful pic I took while skiing... I took this pic with my phone so I think that caused the glow...
Everything was covered and so beautiful!! |
This is the road going to the ski hill...
I may have said it before, but I love snow!!!
Now remember I mentioned lots of food? Have you ever had Jalapeno Popper Dip? Or oven "fried" ravioli? Or homemade "Totino's Pizza Rolls"? Or deep-fried pickles? Or deep-fried Oreos????? I think I gained 5 lbs just New Year's Eve and New Year's Day!! (We did eat some veggies, too!)
They were all delicious, but I was amazed at the deep fried Oreos! When I first heard of them, I thought, "Gross!!!" But they are delicious!!
Pizza rolls made with wonton wrappers |
Deep fried dill pickle spears |
Oven baked ravioli |
DELICIOUS deep fried Oreos!!! |
