He Is Risen!!

I've got a quick Easter card to share.  It's been several days since I posted and even more since I've spent time in my craft room.  :-/   Last week was very busy and I had no time to create until last evening.  I apologize, too, for not doing much blog visiting lately!!

This card did not turn out the way it was supposed to, but do they ever?!?  I trimmed the image incorrectly and had to "fix" it and it ended up sized very differently than I had planned.  C'est la vie!   But except for too much space at the top, I'm reasonably pleased with the result.

Challenges...
Shopping Our Stash #92 - use border punch
Word Art Wednesday #70 - anything goes
Twist of Faith #27 - ribbons and bows (not sure if twine counts?)
The Sweet Stop SSS201 - sketch (I had to slim and stretch it!)
I had intended to follow the sketch exactly, but had a brain dead moment when I started to trim around my image, and it was all down hill from there!! :/

Supplies...
~Doodle Pantry He is Risen COLOR plus
~MME "Dolled Up" dp
~Cutmates Olive Oil cardstock
~twine and brad from my stash

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

For what it's worth I understand how some cards do not turn out as you invision. However, since I didn't envision your card I think it is beautiful and find the blank space above still very eye appealing. A little cross up in the corner with a cloud shape would be easy enough, but like I said, I think it is perfect and beautiful just the way it is.

I don't think my cards ever turn out as I envision them...sometimes better...sometimes - not so much! However, I think your card is just lovely. I have a tough time with "blank space", but very often - less is more. And, it just feels right on this beautiful card with so much meaning in the sentiment and image. I love it just the way it is ♥

This is beautiful, Debbie! I think the layout is great. Sometimes our mistakes turn into our best creations!

PS. If it really bothers you, try adding a 1 inch horizontal layer of the chevron paper (under the twine about a third of the way down from the top) and add a Happy Easter sentiment.

What a drag life would be if everything fell neatly into place! The card is great, Debbie. Honestly, if you hadn't mentioned it, I would have thought the space to be part of the layout! Love the verse!

Oh I so know what it means to have a card not turn out as envisioned, but lucky for us we don't know what your vision was and I think this card is beautiful, full of meaning and just a great Esater card!

Had I not read that you are not totally pleased with this card, I would never have guessed. The image speaks volumes and the empty space above represents the open gates to Heaven now that the tomb lies empty. It's incredibly symbolic and, in my opinion, perfect!

I like how your card turned out, and I LOVE that border punch. Do you know the name of it??? You said you weren't too happy with the large space at the top of the card...you could add a little calendar there and turn it into a wall hanging (although, I like it as it is, too.) :)
