Flashback Friday!

Hi all!  My posts have been rather short and my blog visiting non-existent these last 2 weeks... I've been in Arizona with not much time for the internet!  We had a wonderful trip and the Lord really blessed it!!  Glad to be home and hopefully, things will get back to "normal" soon!  [ Whatever "normal" means! ]

Today is Flashback Friday at McMahon Five Designs!!    That means new creations with previously released images.

I've used a set from Imagine That! digis by Kris called Bee Girl Color.  It's really fun!

 

Here's my card...  As I was making it, I realized I needed a birthday card, so I didn't put a sentiment on the front, but inside, I masked and combined some of my clear stamps to write "hap BEE birthday."  (My DD gave it to her friend already and she loved it!!)

I embossed with Cuttlebug's "honeycomb" set.  The flower was printed twice and fussy cut and popped up for some dimension.  I made a triple bow of baker's twine and tied a button to it.

Vintage Christmas stocking

I hope you are having a good week and thank you for stopping by today!  I'm trying to get some more Christmas cards done so I'm not going nuts in December!   This one turned out well and might be a candidate for "mass producing" when I do start going nuts in December!! LOL

I love vintage images so I had fun making this card.  The color is a little off... if I got the white looking really white, the teal paper looked very blue, so this was what I finally accepted after playing around with it for a long time in Picasa...

 

My LO of the card was loosely based on an old PageMaps sketch I had saved to my computer.  I like long/tall cards!! 

I used one of this month's new releases at Doodle Pantry... Vintage Stocking.

This has a bit of dimension from pop dots and a tiny bow, but even with that, it should be very easy to mail!   **Another necessary thing to remember when I start going nuts in December**

McMahon Five Designs New Release

It's Friday!  It's Friday!!  New release day at McMahon Five Designs!  AND...  I am spending today at the Grand Canyon!!!!  My husband and I visited a few yrs ago, but this will be my kids first time!   They are so excited!  It is such a magnificent and awe-inspiring creation of God!!   Pictures just cannot even come close to capturing the beauty! 

But before I left, I was a busy bee and made several cards including this one...

Cute "love birds" don't you  think?  This is made using "Owl Always Love You Color" and matching sentiment from Daydream Designs.   The argyle DP is from a previous release - Bella's Beauties Argyles & Plaids DP.

Just peachy!!

"You're just peachy!"  At least that's what my card says!  :)

This is much brighter IRL.  I'm sorry that the colors are a little washed out in this pic.  :/ 

I used the colored peach image and sentiment from Peaches and Huckleberries Color Plus from Doodle Pantry. 

My paper is a scrap of "fine & dandy" DP.  I used the Spellbinders Circles and Scalloped Circles, a MS border punch, and a scrap of Offray ribbon.

Flashback Friday at M5D

Happy Friday to you!  Today is Flashback Friday at McMahon Five Designs.  Flashback means we are showcasing some older releases to show off the great digis in the store!!  

I love the image I chose!!  This little snowman is super cute!!

This set is by Studio 313 called "You Warm My Heart" and is available in either JPG or PNG.  This was colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  I embossed my red cardstock with a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder.  The large Kraft frame was cut using Spellbinders Postage Stamp, as well as the sentiment.  I inked the edges with white ink.   A little baker's twine and it was all done!

Jingle Bells, Jingle... Ants???

Please take a moment today and remember what happened on this date 12 yrs ago... September 11, 2001.   Remember and pray for those still hurting over their loss that day!!  And be thankful for the freedom we have and for those who are fighting for it!

Card making is great fun when we can make the annoying things in life to be cute!   Laurie, Doodle Pantry's owner/illustrator, is a master with bugs and critters and creepy crawlies, and these jingle ants are no exception!!   Aren't they cute??  (Click on the pic to see them close up)

I used the silver string of bells, digi paper, and sentiment from this set.   I fussy cut a second image and adhered it to give just a bit more dimension.   Spellbinders Labels 8 and a fork bow finish it off.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #215

Good Tuesday Morning to you!!  Time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  We've got a great sketch and a new great sponsor, so be sure to check it all out!

This week is a Judged Challenge with a Twist!!  Our twist is "Make It Shine"! 
That means you can use sparkly paper, you can add bling, you can use shimmer mists, etc., etc. and so on!  Anything that sparkles or shines! 

Here's my card...

I used sparkly paper for my circle, iridescent embossing powder on my stamped image, and bling!   That's pretty heavy on the sparkle for someone who rarely used any of this stuff! :)

McMahon Five Designs New Release

It's Friday!!  Yay!!  That means I finish digging through all my junk for tomorrow's yard sale!  LOL  But it also means it's time for some new releases from McMahon Five Designs!!

Guitar birthday

Here's a quick post with a birthday card I had made for my daughter's friend.  She loves music and plays the piano and guitar.  I've made piano cards, so thought I'd try my hand at a guitar.  Of course, I had to use an Action Wobble! :)

Sweet Violets TMS #214

I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day by not working! :)   I did some house work.  I had to clean house because I'd been too busy all weekend to do that!

Time for Tuesday Morning Sketches #214 and I have a violet card for you.  I love violets!  That is a little odd since I really don't like purple, but I do love these flowers!  Maybe is was bred in me growing up in NB! :)

Not being a purple lover, I could not find any paper in my stash that was purple!  So I matched the green leaves and pot instead!  This DP is We R Memory Keepers "Sunsplashed."   My bow is a fork bow.  That's such an easy way to make a tiny bow!!  There are several video how to's, but I used this one...  How to make ribbons with a fork  It is short, sweet, and to the point.  Some fork bow tuts are over 5 minutes long!  Seriously??!!??

Flashback Friday at McMahon Five Designs

Happy Friday to you!!  Enjoy your long weekend!  I  intend to since we will start school on Tuesday! :/

Today we are having a flashback at McMahon Five Designs and I have a couple of Christmas cards to show you.  I usually make these all year long, but for some reason, this year I am waaaaay behind in that effort.  These are rather CAS but I still love the look of them and will be happy sending them to friends and family. 

These images are from Simply Christmas by Studio 313 by Shawne.  This is an awesome set with 56 images in it!!  56!!!  And it is currently on sale in the M5D Store!!! :)  Go check it out!  The images come in outline and every color.  The sentiments are in every color, too. 

I printed the image in the middle of my white cardstock, embossed it using Darice "Damask" folder,  printed an extra image and fussy cut it, matted the image and sentiment with scrap cardstock, and added a fork bow to the ornament.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #213

Happy Tuesday!!  Sorry but this is another scheduled post.   I was supposed to get back yesterday from Saskatchewan where I was for my nephew's wedding, but I'm still not home yet.  It was a great time with family!!  And I got to cuddle my great-nephews lots and lots!!  They are soooo sweet!   
Of course, I got my fix of Canadian goodies, too!! :)  Mmmm!  I love Cherry Blossoms and Mint Aeros and Glossettes and Rolo ice cream!  (And ketchup chips, and Crunchies, and Macintosh Toffee, and....so many more!!)   Can you believe I didn't mention Tim Hortons??  It's because I don't drink coffee! :P

Sweet Magnolia notes

New Release at McMahon Five Designs!!

(Lily with the Coke is the bonus image)  I had to use this image!  We love Coke!  I prefer to drink diet Coke, but my hubby and I started collecting Coke memorabilia many years ago.  We even have a "Coke room" that is decorated with all things Coke!

Quick anniversary card

Just a quick post before I take off for my trip!  This is a one layer card.  I think these are really hard!!  It was difficult to resist the temptation to add something to this, but I fought hard and persevered! :)

 All I used was a Sizzix embossing border and my score board.

I did add some glitter with a sparkle pen on the letters.

25 years!! -TMS #212

Today is our 25th anniversary!!   Wow!!  I have been blessed with 25 years of marriage with the most wonderful man on earth!! (That's just MY opinion, of course!)  I am so thankful for the man the Lord gave me!!!  (Scroll all the way down for then & now pics, if you dare!)

When I was a kid, they had "Silver Anniversary" parties for the "old people" that had been married for 25 yrs.  But I sure don't feel as old as I used to think those people were!! LOL 

So today is a special day for me, but it is also special because it's Tuesday and time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!
