On your special day - TMS #446

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  I'm so excited about my card today!!!!  It's my daughter's birthday card.  She is 20, but for years has loved and still loves Beauty and the Beast!  Check this out...

(I added the pic in a huge size so you can see the detail.)

This was really fun to make!!  If you visit regularly, you've probably heard me say I'm using up scraps and already printed images.  {{FYI my 6 month "I'm not buying anymore paper" spree has lasted over 8 mos!}}  In case, you're impressed with my self-control, I must admit I have purchased a few dies with Christmas money, and I did get some black cardstock that I "needed."  ;)
I recently found this Disney Belle Enchanted die and was so excited because, as I said, my daughter loves Beauty and the Beast!!  I came home and began to play with it.  The tiny face stamp is included.  So cute!  I cut it twice in yellow.  I put tape on the back of the second one before taking it out of the die in order to keep the tiny pieces in the skirt.  I cut it in brown, cream, white, and red and trimmed to get the hair, face, dress trim, and rose.

Remembering... your work of faith - TMS #445

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

Not all of the cards I make for TMS are made with a recipient in mind, but this one definitely was.  It was a thank you for a couple who planted a church not far from us.  He is now battling cancer, and they could not continue.  At their last service there, the church family wrote their appreciation in this card...

This verse freebie from Word Art Wednesday (back in October) was perfect for their card!!  (The card is 5x7 so there was more room to sign.)  It's cut out using unbranded cross stitch ovals from Cheapo Dies.  My DP is DCWV Mariposa.  Primo flowers, Spellbinders Foliage leaves, and a few adhesive dots finished it off.

Challenges...
Inkspirational Challenge #156 - work ("work of faith" in sentiment)
Word Art Wednesday #326-327 - anything goes

I also made another card using this sketch just because I had a sentiment sitting around...

This was made with a $1 clear stamp, the unbranded cross stitch ovals, the Paper Studio flowers and gems, and DCWV Spring and Summer corrugated paper that I've had forever.

Challenges...
Simply Create Too #136 - use green
Di's Digis Designs - lots of green
Addicted-to-stamps #162 - thank you
DLART Thankful Thursday #224 - green and/or thankful

Here's our wonderful sketch....

Snow, snow, and more snow!

We've had 3 nor'easters come through in the last 2 weeks, and according to the forecast, another is coming on Tuesday!  I love snow, so it's fine with me, but I do know and am so sorry that in many places, this has caused great damage and hardship.  I am praying for those affected.

Birthday Blessings

A snow storm + a state of emergency keeping all non-essential travelers off the road = craft time for me!! :)

I've been trying to use up some of my paper scraps, pads with just a few sheets left, and stamped or printed images that have been sitting on my desk forever.  But in trying to use all that up, I've discovered that I have a few stamps that had never even been inked!  I checked out Paper Playful for some inspiration and found a new-to-me challenge... Owl always love you - TMS #443

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

Here's a sneak peak at my cute owl card, but before I give details on that, I've got SNOW to show you!

I know winter storm Riley caused some real problems in some areas, and I'm sorry if you were affected by that.  Here, we got snow, snow, snow!!  I love it!!
I went out twice to take pics.  The first time, the snow was almost to the top of my tall boots.  The second time, it was well over my knees.  We got 30" at my house.  (Our church is in the next town with a higher elevation, and we got 39.3" there!  The current forecast is for us to get 10-18" more tomorrow into Thursday from winter storm Quinn!!)

Looking out my front window at 9 AM and then at 4 PM...

Behind my house...

Our mailbox... (The heavy snow bent our bushes down to about half their normal height.  You should not be able to see the roof of my house!)

The brook across the road...

Isn't it beautiful??

Now that I've either made you jealous or thankful that you don't have it, here's the whole card for this week's challenge... :)

This was a really fun card to make!  I'm using up scraps and paper pads with a few sheets left and images printed and colored and waiting, and this card is no exception.   My image is "Owl Always Love You" by Paper Pretties... a shop that's been closed for over 2 years!  (That gives you an idea of how much I've got sitting around!)   I colored this cute little guy with Spectrum Noir markers.  My paper is all Fancy Pants "Summer's End" and all cut with Spellbinders Standard Circles.   Easy peasy, but cute IMHO. ;)

Here's our sketch for the week...

TMS is sponsoring with this set of Spellbinders Crosses Two dies that would be perfect for your Easter cards!!

Embroidered aprons

The vast majority of my posts are paper crafts, but I do other things as well.  Several years ago, my mother passed on her old embroidery machine.   It wasn't working the best, but I enjoyed what I was able to do on it.  She upgraded again, and gave me her second one.  It was much better, but then it started to give me trouble.  And when the repair man says, "It's working fine," and I get it home with the same problems??  I didn't do much after that.  Last year, I found a very little used Husqvarna Designer SE on eBay for a very good price.  It works great!!  So now I'm embroidering again.

All that to say this... I made aprons for Christmas gifts this year and thought I'd share them with you.  (You can go directly to the designs by clicking on the italicized name.)

Chocolate is Always A Good Idea from Embroidery Library

These next 2 are from Kitchen Sayings Exclusive II by Julia's Needle Designs.

Many of you will love this Coffee Word Art from Julia's Needles Designs

I love this one!!  Sassy Tiding - Christmas Calories from Urban Threads!

Aren't they fun??!!??  And I just got a few more designs that I want to use for aprons and throws, so I may have more to share soon.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!!

Three of a kind - TMS #438

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  This week, I've got 3 cards to show you using our sketch.  3!!!  I've been away 3 1/2 of the past 6 weeks, so I had a brain fart last week and threw my card together thinking I needed it ready before I actually did.  Then when I realized I had more time, I made another.  While working on another project, I was inspired to try something else, so... 3 cards with this sketch. :)   I'll show you the third and final product first.  (It's my favorite of the 3.)

I was looking through my dies and realized I had never used this adorable rocking horse that I bought almost a year ago!  I'm going to need a boy baby card, so I used it.  The die is Die-Namites Rocking Horse.  (The little hearts are the leftover pieces from the rocker.)  My DP is AC My Baby.  The brown was a Basic Grey scrap.  My sentiment is a Pebbles clear stamp.

Here's our sketch...  (then I'll show you my other attempts!)  This week, we're re-playing Patti's favorite from 2017.

And here's the prize for the week... Two cute little 2 x 2 stamps that make great backgrounds and a shimmer pen.

Now my previous creations...  Card #1 made using an already printed image from Doodle Pantry and a paper from my scrap box.  I like it, by it's kind of dull!

Card #2 made using another already printed image, Authentique Latest & Greatest DP, adhesive dots, and clear Pebbles sentiment.  This one had a little more life to it. ;)

Which do you like best?? :)
