Altered box

Graduation season is over, but I've got a grad gift to show you that I made last month.  Sometimes you don't have a clue what to give for a gift.  This was one of those times, but I thought that any young lady would enjoy a box for keeping special things.

I got the box at Hobby Lobby and though I already have waaaaaay too much paper (not really!!), I found this stack and loved it!  It is "Poetic Postage" by Paper Studio.  Love it!!

I found a few embellies that I thought would match and went home to create.  Here's what my girls and I came up with...

I adhered the paper and used Mod Podge to give it a nice finish.

I inked a doily for the top and added a bling flourish and the flower (that came from M's)!   Ribbon around the top that I dyed with distress ink.  It kind of was a pain to adhere so I hope the bow stayed on!!

The butterflies were cut from a page and placed to hide the seem that I didn't get quite perfect! :)   We were really happy with how it came out and it was really fun!  Hopefully, we'll be making more altered boxes before too long!

Thanks for stopping by!!
