Anne with an "E"

If you are an Anne of Green Gables fan, you understood my title immediately.  I cannot tell you how many times I read the Anne books.  I love them!!  I have almost all of L.M. Montgomery's books.  I was such a fan of the books that when the movie came out in the early 80's, I HATED it because it was not enough like the books.  I did learn to love watching the movies, but it took me awhile to get over all the "wrong" things in them. The book is always better, don't you think?

My Anne card has been awhile in the making.  Life has been so busy that I've not had a lot of time to make just for fun, but I did with this one.  I've wanted this "Anne of Green Gables" stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie for looooong time and finally just ordered it a couple of months ago.  I printed the image and it sat.  I colored it and it sat, and finally just finished it.  I'm going to make a few more cards with this image for my sisters, my niece, and a few friends.  Last month, we all went to see "Anne of Green Gables The Musical" in Charlottetown.  It was so awesome!!  I had seen it when I was a girl, and other than some new staging and props, it's just the same as it was then.  That's really neat since this year is the 50th year of this musical!!   (It was NOT 50 yrs ago that I saw it!!!!)

This is the second Tuesday of the month, so it's time for our Judged Challenge with a Twist!!

It is Holiday Fun!!  

**Red face**  I really didn't do the twist.  Though Melissa is so kind!  On our TMS post, she said I did the "I'm feeling spiritual" holiday! :)

Let us be thankful

Today, Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the challenge at Creative Knockouts.  The theme of this challenge is "thankful" so I have 3 cute little birdies that are being thankful.

I used the colored birdies, digi paper, and sentiment from Autumn Song Birdies.  They are so cute! I printed the digi paper, and free handed the top for some interest.  The image is cut with Spellbinders Labels Eight.  The corners are cut with a Fiskars corner punch.  A scrap of ribbon and some adhesive pearls finished it off.

I don't really have much time for chit chat today -and I can't seem to think of anything witty or intelligent to share with you- so straight to my card...

Isn't this a sweet image?  It is called "All Wrapped Up" from All Dressed Up Stamps, our sponsor for this week. 

I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers and cut it out with Spellbinders Petite Ovals and Scalloped Petite Ovals.  The DP is MME Lost and Found Two "Rosy."  The sentiment is Inkadinkado, the swirl is Spellbinders Doodle Parts, and the flowers are Flora Doodles.

My fun image and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry's Birthday Birdie COLOR plus.  The DP is MME Indie Chic "Saffron."  (Not quite as bright pink IRL!)  I cut using Spellbinders Standard Circles and Petite Scalloped Circles.  {I lost one of my circles... I have no idea how or where... it was the middle size... you know, the size needed for just about EVERYTHING!!}

New job congratulations

I've got a card to show you that I started a couple of weeks ago, but then I was away for several days, so I just got it finished. 

I'm very pleased with this card and it was quite quick and easy to put together.  The DP, image and sentiment are all from Antique Desk.  This is a September release from Doodle Pantry.   The bottom half is embossed using Cuttlebug's Roman Bath EF.  I used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A.  The ribbon is my last scrap of this.  I thought it was a perfect match!  A few buttons finished it all off.

I remembered...

I really need to make more cards like this one!  I have a tendency to be late with birthday cards! :-O  So it is a big deal when I remember! LOL

I used Tall Trio from Doodle Pantry.  This is a fun set!   I'm away right now and can't remember for sure what my DP is... I think it's AC Lucky Charm.  The epoxy button is Making Memories.   I used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A to cut the frames for the pic and sentiment.

No, I'm not seasonally challenged!  I am trying (though very pathetically) to get some cards made before December comes and I run out of time and resort to buying them! :-O

A little trumpet player! -TMS #265

My card is for my son who is learning to play the trumpet.  A couple of years ago, he heard "Bugler's Holiday" at the Christmas concert played by the community band in which our oldest daughter plays.  Her teacher (whose proficiency is trumpet) had a solo part in the song that was amazing!!  After hearing it, he turned to me and said, "I want to play the trumpet!"  So we are making it happen!
