Prancing horse thank you

I have been very slow with Christmas thank you cards this year.  So slow that I thought it too late to make them Christmas-y.   Here is one of them...

This is pretty basic.  My image and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry's Horses 1 and 3.  It was cut with Spellbinders Standard Ovals.  The frame is Spellbinders Labels 18.  The brown panel was embossed with Darice Basket Weave BG.  I added some We R Memory Keepers Chevron washi tape, and my huge flower is Making Memories.

B'day easel card - TMS #340

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  Last year, I kind of challenged myself to do something other than a basic card for at least one challenge a month.  I've missed a couple of months, but sort of did it this time.  I made an easel card.  (They are really easy and fun, so I don't know why I don't make them more often!)

 (I'm thinking I should have folded the front more toward the middle so it would stand up straighter.)

I guess that this doesn't technically have to be a birthday card, but that's what I had in mind while making it.  My DP is Studio Calico Story Time.  The image is Digital Delights Flower Power Basket of Daisies. (I made mine into Black-eyed Susans!) It's colored with my Spectrum Noir markers, and cut out with Spellbinders Labels One and Scalloped Labels One.  The sentiments are Inkadinkado and My Pink Stamper.

#roadtrip

Here I am again just getting in at the last minute for a challenge! :P  I'm on week 3 of a miserable sinus/cold/cough thing that won't leave and have been functioning at less than my best, so that's my excuse. :)

I had this image on another card last weekend, but once it was done, I did not like it so tore it all apart.  It worked this time, I think.  It is FTHS VW Snowman.  He's colored with my Spectrum Noir markers and cut out using Spellbinders Labels One and Scalloped Labels One.  My DP is Paper Crate "Market" and the edges are inked with TH antique linen.  The pink squares are tiny adhesive mosaic tiles.

I colored FTHS "Snowman and Cocoa" with my Spectrum Noir markers.  The DP is Studio Calico "Story Time."  It is embossed with Darice Snowflake Swirl.  The small snowflakes are Sweet n Sassy Small Snowflakes die.

Let it snow!!!!!!

A quick post to get in a challenge that ends tonight.  (I actually made a card yesterday, but once I had it all together, I and was not happy with the result.  I was too tired to start again last night, so this evening I spent a few minutes in my craft room.)

I keep making snow cards because I WANT SNOW!!  This year, our area got an "F" from the weather channel for our winter.  Only 5 1/2 inches of snow so far.  That total is from several "storms," too.  So sad!!!

My DP did a lot of the work for me.  It is AC Let It Snow.  My image is FTHS Little Snowman.  I colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers.  He's cut out and matted with Spellbinders Labels Small and Large. The snowflake is a Sweet 'n Sassy Small Snowflake die.

What's up chickadee?

I've got a quick note card to show you today...

My image is "Chubby Chickadee" from Doodle Pantry.  The digi paper is from "Canada Goose."   The chipboard button, brown hemp, and ribbon are all from my stash.  The LO of my card is a previous sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches (I'm on the TMS DT). 

As I was putting this all together and preparing my post, I had to smile.  I guess we can say "it's a small world" or "great minds think alike" or something like that.   Get this...

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!   Today is Groundhog Day.   Yes, I'm hoping for 6 more weeks of winter since we really haven't even had a winter in my part of the world yet!  Our snow has been sadly missing this year. :(  

Ok, I'll stop whining and show you my Valentine card...

My sentiment is Doodle Pantry Unfailing Love.   I changed the color of it in paint.net then layered it slightly offset for this effect.  My DP is MME Bohemia and Canvas Corp Blue & Ivory Mini Dot Reverse.  The circle is embossed with CB Love Language.  I inked the edges of the circle and banner with VersaMagic Perfect Plumeria.

 My colored image, sentiment, and digi paper all came from Flame Lily.  I love the rich colors in this beautiful set!  (Outlines are included, too)  My image was cut with Spellbinders Tile Works and the sentiment was cut with A2 Matting Basics A.  They were both inked with TH peeled paint distress ink.  The green paper was cut with a MS border punch.  A bit of ribbon and a few adhesive pearls finished it off.

Yes, I drew for that prize even if I didn't make 200 followers.  I have to say that something very strange happened.  My hubby and I were both sick last week.  Unfortunately, we're still fighting whatever this is. :(   For that reason, I was a little (actually a lot) out of it some days.  I had previously been keeping an eye on my followers number and saw 199.  Yay, I thought, only one more to go.  I was really miserable last week and didn't pay a lot of attention to anything, but when I checked followers on Sunday, it said 187.  What???    I did a quick google search and saw that others had suddenly lost followers with no explanation.  ???  It's weird, but I decided to give away this prize, too, anyway. 

So CONGRATULATIONS, ladies!!  I hope you enjoy your prizes!!

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  I've got a card today that could not have been more perfectly timed.  Take a look, then I'll explain.

Our family loves to ski!  We are not experts by any stretch of the imagination, but we love it. [In the spirit of total truthfulness... my son does not ski... he snowboards.;) ]  Sadly, last year, even with all the snow we received, it never worked in our schedule to go skiing.  Soooo sad!!!  
But... our wonderful church family gave my husband and me a get-away of 3 days at Smuggler's Notch in VT and we were scheduled to head over there today!!  We were scheduled to go today....  until a stomach virus and severe sinus issues hit our home.  So... not today!  :(  Hoping and planning for next week.  We're looking forward to time away {♥just the two of us♥} and to hitting the slopes!

Here's our wonderful sketch by Melissa...  another of our favorites from 2015... this week it is my choice...  *I LOVE this sketch!  Since it debuted last March, I have used it many, many times!!

My DP is Recollections Cozy Lodge and my image is FTHS Rather Be Skiing Snowman.  He is colored with my Spectrum Noir markers (DR7, OR2, EB7, EB2, GG1, GG2, BT1).
He was cut out with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A and inked with TH antique linen.  The snowflake is one of Sweet 'n Sassy's Small Snowflakes dies.  Brown hemp bow finishes it off.

Hello!  Are you trying to keep warm in your part of the country?  Or maybe you/re preparing for the huge storm this weekend in the mid-Atlantic/Northeast?   Not me.  We're pretty much normal temps but, sadly, barely any snow. :(
If you get the snow, go play in it and think of me! ;)

I've got my son's birthday card to show you.  A question and then an explanation...
Have you ever played "Punch Buggy" or "Slug Bug"?
My husband and I and one of our daughters went to Brazil last June to work with some of our missionaries.  We had such a wonderful and blessed time!!  Driving across/around Sao Paulo can literally take hours, so we played games in the van.  There are LOTS of VW  Beetles there.  The Brazilian name is "Fusca."  Sooooo... when we saw a Fusca, we'd yell "Fusca." (But we did not punch anyone!)  We came home and when I saw a Beetle, I said it and we had to explain to the rest of the family about it.  So we don't play Punch Buggy; we play Fusca now.  My son is always on the lookout for them.  It's become quite a joke and has taken on a life of it's own, so I used a yellow Fusca -actually 14 of them- on his card.  (A yellow Fusca is worth 2 pts!)

We did have to tell him that he could NOT bring this card into the van as we drive and count these! LOL
