Great is Thy Faithfulness - TMS #502

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

I'm thankful for the ability to pre-schedule posts... I'm on vacation!!! Woot! Woot!  We're on our way to FL for my daughter's college graduation, then we're spending a couple of weeks as a family riding roller coasters!  And we'll probably do some other fun stuff, too. ;)

Anyway, here's my card...

I used Sweet n Sassy Stamps Hymn Block Clear Stamps for my sentiment. "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" is one of my favorite hymns!  I was singing it the whole time I was making my card.  It's cut out using CottageCutz Stitched Rectangles.  My butterflies are from a stamp and die set... Butterflies #3 from Sizzex/Hero Arts.  (I found that funny as I looked at the packaging after using them.  They are pretty old.  I don't know when the companies stopped associating with one another, but must have been awhile ago because the company that owns Sizzix in now suing Hero Arts, among others!! SMH!)  I stamped the butterflies with VersaColor Lapislazuli, Old Rose, and Laurel Leaf, clear heat embossed them, colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers, and cut them out using the coordinating dies in the set.  My BG is DCWV corrugated paper that I've had forever!  My sentiment is also stamped with Lapislazuli and clear heat embossed.

This week we're playing with one of my sketches.  Sometimes, I sit at my computer and play around with shapes and elements to create the sketch and sometimes I look at a card I've previously made but not posted on my blog and "sketch" it, which is what I did this time.  Here's the sketch and then the card that inspired it...

The DP is Making Memories Pitter Patter.  (More paper which I've had forever!)  I cut the circles out of the paper.  My teddy bear is Doodle Pantry, I think.  Stamped my sentiment and tied some baker's twine, and it was all done.

I was hoping to have time to make some more cards with this sketch.  I could see the circles being snowflakes for a Christmas card or flowers for just about any occasion, or even all elements stamped for a CAS one-layer card.  You could try one of these ideas and show me! :)

Embossed holly - SCC #100

Happy May!  A new month means a new Sparkles Christmas Challenge!!   This month our theme is "Let's See Some Holly."

As first glance, you may wonder where my holly is... it's in the background stamp that I heat embossed in white.  This card is sooo pretty IRL!!!

My embossed holly is "Christmas Holly Background Stamp" from JustRite.  The sentiment is a Momenta clear stamp that I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and clear heat embossed. The paper was from my scrap box, and the ribbon is from my stash.

We're leaving in just 4 days to go to my daughter's college graduation and then taking our family vacation!  I'm so excited but very busy, so no time for chitchat today. :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

It's time to celebrate! - TMS #500 and blog hop

Happy Tuesday to you!
It's time for
Today is our
500th sketch challenge!!!!

And we are celebrating!!!

We're so excited about this accomplishment that
we decided to have a blog hop.

Be sure to start (and end) with
 Tuesday Morning Sketches' blog.

I'm Debbie and I've been on the Tuesday Morning Sketches team for 7 years!!    I've loved being a part of this team!    It's been great to have the friendship and support of my wonderful design team members, I've been blessed to "get to know" so many of you talented crafters through our TMS connection, and I love the TMS set up - - a sketch with no seasonal or theme requirements attached that can be interpreted by each of us in our own style.  :)

Our sketch this week (see it below) is a little challenging at first glance, but really it's super easy and open to so much possibility with stamps, dies and borders.

Here's my card and it features a clear sentiment from Stampabilites that I've had forever!  I stamped it with Versafin Onyx Black and clear heat embossed it.  I cut it out with scalloped stitched rectangles from Cheapo Dies.  My decorative element is Spellbinders Roses and Thorns. I added Wink of Stella to the flowers so they shimmer IRL.

I also made a "casual" version using an image from Prettygrafikdesigns, Spectrum Noir markers, CottageCutz Stiched Rectangles, Impression Obsession Scribble Circles, and a Bo Bunny clear sentiment...

The prize I am offering is.... a set of 24 Spectrum Noir markers (Lights)

(If you win my prize and live outside the US, you will
receive a $10 gift certificate to Bugaboo Stamps)

**Be sure to comment here and link up your creation on the TMS blog to be considered for prizes.  Yes!  You could win BOTH here on my blog and the TMS blog.

Here's the sketch... (Seriously, do not let it scare you... the possibilities are endless!)

The next stop on the blog hop is...

Enjoy!

You are a blessing - TMS #499

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

**Only 1 week until our 500th challenge celebration!!**

I cut a Kraft panel and embossed the top and bottom twice using Wonky Wavy Stitched Dies from Kat Scrappiness.  I cut the black panel with CottageCutz Stitched Rectangles.  The squares of Prima Something Blue DP are cut with Spellbinders Classic Squares.  The clear sentiment is Every Day is A Blessing from Memory Box.  A Prima flower, MS branch punch, and adhesive dot finished it off.

Here's the sketch...

I love this Die-namics Soda Pop Bottles die set and matching Soda Pop clear stamp set from My Favorite Things!!  We drink too much lots of Coke products in our house, so this die is perfect!  My paper is all scraps.  The main panels are cut using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basic A and B.  I used CottagCutz Stitched Rectangles, Cheapo Dies Pierced Circles, and Sweet n Sassy Stamps Stars dies along with the Die-namics bottle.  See how cool it is?  It embosses to look just like "the real thing"!  I heat embossed the clear sentiment with white embossing powder.

Mary Poppins

The calendar says it's been spring for a couple of weeks, but... high 60's one day and then back down to low 30's and snow flurries 2 days later??  Crazy!!

So I'm manufacturing spring in my craft room.  :)  I've got clouds and flowers and wellies and that's just in my paper.  :)   Here's my card...  with Mary Poppins!  We enjoyed Mary Poppins Returns but nothing can quite compare to the original!  What's your opinion?

I was looking through my stamps, realized I had never used this one.  After coloring it, I went and checked Paper Playful to find challenges to inspire me in making the card (even found one with a Mary Poppins theme!!), and created this.  ((Actually made it yesterday, but got distracted and didn't finish the post, so I missed the deadline of one of the challenges I made it for.  Duh!!))

I think black ink will show up on the teal inside.
If not, I'll put a white piece in there.
My image is Mary Poppins from Kraftin' Kimmie.  (I've had this for almost 5 yrs and this is the first time I've inked it up!!!)  My DP is Pebbles Garden Party.  I cut a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of white cardstock and scored it at 2-1/8" and 4-1/4" then placed my oval die over the first score and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the cutting plate edge even with the score line so it only cut half.  (I believe there are dies available to cut this type of card, but this is my homemade version.)  My image and sentiment were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and heat embossed.  My sentiment is Bo Bunny and cut with Simon Says Stamp Tiny Tags.

Challenges...
Kraftin' Kimmie #474 - spring (my paper is spring-y)
The Library Challenge #30 - Mary Poppins
Di's Digi Challenge - make it girly
Colour Crazy Craft week 12 - anything goes (must be hand colored)
Retro Rubber #107 - tic tac toe (yellow, heat embossing, ribbon or twine)
(My stamp is about 5 yrs old.)

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Have a beautiful day - TMS #497

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Today, I've got a pretty simple card that was fun to create...

I used Spellbinder Flourish Impressabilities as a stencil and sponged Memento Potter's Clay ink over it.  My image is a precolored butterfly from Doodle Pantry that I fussy cut.  I used CottageCutz Stitched Rectangles and Spellbinders Petite Ovals dies.

Challenges...
Word Art Wednesday #380-#381 - anything goes w. uplifting sentiment
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - anything goes
Cardz 4 Gals #93 - flora or fauna

- - - - - - -

I was looking at that card and had a thought... "this could make a pretty and simple Christmas card," so I made some. :)

Actually, I made 5...

The ornament has some shimmer
which is very pretty in real life!

Here's the sketch... this one can be CAS or embellished to your hearts content...

Christmas blessings - SCC #99

Happy April 1st!  I was going to get you with a really good April Fool's joke, but couldn't find one I liked, so we'll just get on to Sparkles Christmas Challenge #99!   Our theme this month is feature a creature!

I'm featuring one of my favorite creatures... a cardinal.  This past winter, I saw several either flying over the road as I drove or sitting in a tree.  The bright red against the white snow is gorgeous!

My image is a clear stamp from Sweet n Sassy "Christmas Joy." Sentiment from same set.  I stamped it on Kraft, colored it up with my Spectrum Noir markers, and cut it out with the coordinating die.  It's framed by a Spellbinders Classic Ovals cut that I embossed with CB Swiss Dots.  My sentiment and other banners are cut with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.  My DP is the Paper Studio Pine St. Square.

We'd love to see your Christmas card featuring a creature over at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Wreath thank you - TMS #496

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I'm so excited about this card for a couple of reasons....  check it out and then I'll explain...

It's a gate fold card.
I love the wreath behind the sentiment!!  A couple of weeks ago, I admired Melissa's card using Gina K Tiny Wreath Builder.  She said she had an extra and sent it to me!!!!!  Isn't she awesome??!?  Thanks again, Melissa!
I've been having so much fun using it!  I know I used some not "normal" colors for a wreath, but it matches my paper very well (in real life).  You will be seeing more wreaths in the days ahead!

Here's our sketch that was perfect for using the wreath builder...

She's 21!

Wow!  Our second daughter is 21 years old today!  I just cannot believe how quickly my children have grown up!  I look back and wish I had cherished every stage a bit more.  I've heard it said, "Enjoy every minute."  You can't and don't enjoy every minute, but I wish I had enjoyed every age more.

Enough of that and before I start bawling, here's my daughter's birthday card...

I was looking for something and found a pkg of tags I had forgotten I had.  I grabbed this one and searched for scraps, washi, and embellishments to match and searched for some challenge inspiration, and voilà!  A card was born.  Speaking of birth... this daughter was the only one of my 4 kids born on her actual due date.  :)

My circle is Die-versions stitched circles.  The banners are Kat Scrappiness Fishtail Stitched Banners.  "Happy Birthday" is a Bo Bunny clear sentiment.  "21" are Thickers.  I think the washi is Recollections, and the adhesive dots are Paper Studio.

Challenges...
Krafty Chicks #447 - polka dots
Seize the Birthday #161 - dots and stripes or anything goes birthday (I did anything goes)
Dragonfly Dreams March - for a special female (for my sweet daughter)
Use Your Stuff #351 - use washi
Stinkin' Inkers - tag it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Live love laugh - TMS #495

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  This week's sketch is awesome!  I can't wait to see how everyone interprets it!!  Here's my take...

My paper was the scrap ends from some K&Co paper.  My images are Bugaboo Butterfly Live Love Laugh Trio.  They are cut using Spellbinders Standard Circles.  The flowery swirl behind it is Cheapo Dies Clover Flourish.  Simple and easy though the more I look at this, the less I like it.  I might try for a do-over and use flowers as in the sketch...

Challenges...
2 Crafty Critter Crazies #24 - must feature a creature
Dies R Us #117 - for the ladies (used Spellbinders Circles and Cheapo Dies flourish)
Di's Digi Design - tic-tac-toe -- I did Kraft, digi image, at least 2 PP
Catch the Bug March B-I-N-G-O - I did Bugaboo image, flower, stripes

God bless us everyone - TMS #494

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Yeah, I get that March is kinda weird to be making Christmas cards, but I do try to make all through the year, so I'm ready when December arrives.  It's my hope this year that everyone I send to will get a handmade card. (I need well over 100!)

My image and paper are all Graphic 45 A Christmas Carol.  I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I used Spellbinders A3 Matting Basics and and unbranded Scallop Stitch dies. I distressed the edges of the main panel with my Distrezz-It-All.  The ribbon and adhesive squares are from my stash.

Here's our sketch for the week...

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  We've really enjoyed revisiting out favorites from 2018, but now we're ready to play with all new sketches!!

Here's my card...

Supplies...
~Cupcake Kidz from Bugaboo
~Spectrum Noir markers
~Crate Paper Pretty Party
~Spellbinders Postage Stamps
~Sweet n Sassy Stamps Pennant Party clear sentiment
~crinkle ribbon (I used crinkle ribbon on a few cards lately... I made several colors a couple of years ago, but they got lost and/or buried under all the extra junk in my craft room misplaced and just recently found! ;)

Challenges...
Seize the Birthday #160 - make us laugh or anything goes birthday (I did anything goes)
Creative Knockouts #287 - lots of layers
Catch the Bug - March anything goes

Joy to the World - SCC #98

Happy March!  Time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge #98!  Our theme this month is to make a vintage card.  I had so many ideas in my head... none of them came out as planned, but I had finally settled one of the cards I made and even had my blog post all ready.  Then I remembered this die and went a whole new direction.

My BG is Textured Cream Sheet Music from the Paper Studio.  I used Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Circles to cut down the Recollections doily.   My carolers are Die-Versions.  The musical staff is Memory Box Virtuoso Music.  The sentiment is from Sunn Studio Christmas Chapel.  It's cut out with Simon Says Stamp Tiny Tags. Ribbon, flower, and twine are all from my stash.  With the height of the flower, this will definitely need to be hand delivered!! :)

Challenges...
Simon Says Stamp Monday - vintage/past times
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - anything goes
Word Art Wednesday #376 - #377 - anything goes w/ uplifting sentiment
Fab 'n' Funky #429 - feel the music
Sweet Stampin' Christmas - February anything goes
The Holly and the Ivy Christmas #44 - anything Christmas goes
