Cute Christmas Critter - SCC #137

It's time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge #137!  This month our theme is Cute Christmas Critters!

Here's my cute critter...

My cute critter is a precolored digi from Imagine That! Digis by Kris "JOYful Reindeer.".  I inked the BG so it would show up better against the frame.  (Imagine That is closed, but I still have plenty of cute digis to play with.)  My paper is Echo Park "Christmas" and I embossed a cross stitched rectangle on it.  The "Polaroid" frame is Papertrey Ink "Instant Photo #1."  My sentiment is Momenta Christmas Phrases that I heat embossed.  My button is 4 layers of Papertrey Ink's Buttoned Up #1. The snip of ribbon and the twine are from my stash.

This year is going quickly, so please come and play along with us as you get ready for Christmas.  It's only 208 days away! :D

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Congratulations - TMS #659

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I've got a couple of grad cards to share this week...

My paper is DCWV All Chalked Up and Papertrey Ink Dotty Boscotti.  My image and sentiment are Sweet n Sassy Stamps Graduation stamp and die set.  You can see below that I used an Action Wobble on the cap.  (Have not used one of those in a very loooong time!)  The staples are from my EK Success Fastenater.  Another thing I haven't used in years!

Here's card number 2.  Just slightly different.  The DP is Graphic 45 Come Away With Me, and I used a different image from the same stamp and die set.

Here's our awesome sketch...

Father's Day blessings - TMS #658

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I'm actually ahead with my Father's Day cards this year, and here is one of them...

My car is The Project Bin "Classic Man."  I stamped the cars with Versafine Claire Nocturne, clear heat embossed them, then fussy cut them.  My sentiment is Our Daily Bread "Father's Day."  My paper is Papertrey Ink "3 Piece Suit."   I swiped a black stamp pad on the sentiment strip to tone down the white a bit.

Here's the sketch...  (I can promise you, I'll be using this one again and again!)

A card + news - C4G #173

Hello!  I've got a card to show you for a challenge... a challenge that I've played along with a few times, but where I am now a Design Team Member!  I'm happy to be joining the team at Cardz 4 Galz!!!

For this current challenge, our theme is "sentiment as the focal point."  And as the name suggests, the card must be for a gal.  I'm sharing my sister's funny birthday card.... at least I think it's funny!

I used actual Scrabble tiles.  The "Don't worry..." was computer generated and cut out using Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.  My DP is the Paper Studio Country Road.

I made it an easel card.  The inside sentiment is from Sweet N Sassy Stamps Birthday Greetings and cut with the same set of fishtail banner dies.

I hope you come play along and make a card for a gal in your life!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Come unto me - TMS #657

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I hope my card this week is an encouragement to you!  2020 may be long over, but I know the struggles of life are still ongoing!  I pray you know the Lord and can take your burdens to Him!

My BG paper is Papertrey Ink Dotty Biscotti.  The Kraft ovals are cut out using CottageCutz Double Stitched Ovals.  My verse is a free digi from Word Art Wednesday from long ago that was in my printed-and-ready-to-use folder. It's cut out using the half-cut technique since I didn't have a rectangle with these dimensions.

Here's the sketch...

These card were pretty simple to make.  Cardstock from my stash, a MS punch, CM corner punch, Sweet n Sassy Stamps Graduation stamp and die set, gold embossing powder, Lifestyle Crafts Whimsy EF, and Spellbinders banner die.

Here are the other 2 variations....

Thanks - TMS #655

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card...

The navy polka dot paper is from my scrap box.  It's cut out with Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles.  The squares are Jen Hadfield Warm & Cozy DP.  The large sentiment is Cuttlebug With Gratitude die.  I cut several layers and glues them together to give it some stability and dimension.  Then I inked it with VersaMark and clear heat embossed it.  I did this a couple of weeks ago but remembered to take a close up this time...

Here's our sketch...

Christmas greetings tree - SCC #136

Even as the weather is getting warmer, we are still thinking of Christmas!  It's time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge #136 and our theme is "Christmas Sentiments."

Here's my card that showcases the sentiment...

My sentiment is CottageCutz Holiday Greetings Tree (I cut 2 and glued them together for some dimension.  It really helps it stand out IRL.)  This is Recollections silver paper.  It has a nice shimmer and is very pretty IRL!  The BG paper is Graphic 45 A Christmas Carol that's cut with Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles which I cut 2 sizes but kept them together for a bit of interest.  (I've used these a lot lately.  I guess I tend to get in a creative rut. LOL)   I also used Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes (But... then I realized that I used the non stitched piece! Duh!)

We'd love to have you come play along at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

I'm praying for you - TMS #654

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  This week, we've got a pretty basic sketch and here's my card...

My image is Spring Blossom from Sami Stamps.  It is a digi stamp that was printed on vellum and "embossed." I have not done this is a long time.  You can check out some instructions HERE.  I cut a panel of Heidi Grace Daydream with Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles then cut a circle in it to frame the image.  *Doing it this way meant I could adhere the vellum and the glue doesn't show!  My sentiment is Raisin Boat Flourishing Thoughts.

Here's the sketch...

Hello - TMS #653

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I seldom say this or feel this way, but I'm very happy with my card for this challenge.

I had a few paper pads on my desk, flipped through Crate Paper "Bloom" and immediately knew I wanted to use these papers.  My sentiment is a word die from a set I bought years ago from a craft sale site.  I cut it out 4 times and glued them all together then swiped it with VersaMark and heat embossed it with Ranger Extra Thick embossing powder.  That gave it shine and more stability.  (Oops! I made this while wearing my glasses that need the prescription updated, so I didn't notice until I had adhered it to the circle that I missed a spot or two.)  The circle the sentiment is on is cut out with Die-versions Stitched Circles.  I added 3 adhesive dots to finish it off.

Here's the awesome sketch for the week...

Butterfly birthday - TMS #652

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  This week I'm sharing my cousin's birthday card.  She is fighting a difficult and courageous battle with MS and has the sweetest spirit through it all!   She loves flowers and birds, so I hope she likes my butterfly, too.

My paper is Bo Bunny Early Bird.  My sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy Stamos Birthday Greetings.  The butterfly die is from a Uchi Design motion card set.  (Still haven't figured out to make the motion cards work!) The border is a MS punch.

Here's our sketch... I can't wait to see how everyone interprets the elements of this sketch!

Fun folds for Christmas - SCC #135

Happy April 1st!! I won't even try to have a funny April Fool's joke. ;)

It's time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge!  Our theme this month is fun folds.  I really like fun/fancy folds though I don't make them often.  So a challenge like this helps me.  I made a pinwheel tower card...

It stands up well.

I made one main panel, but...

you can decorate all the sides.

Even with all the layers that make it stand up well and all the sides decorated, it still fits in an A2 envelope.  (There are lots of tutorials for pinwheel tower cards on YouTube.)  This was fun and easy to make!

My paper is some more of the leftover pages from some Christmas pads.  My car is clipart from Creative Fabrica.  The "cool Christmas" sentiment is from MFT Cool Christmas.  The other is Sum More Fun Tangled Tinsel.  The fancy die cut is CC Designs Winter Wonderland.  And I added a few snowflakes from an old tiny punch.

Please come play along at Sparkles Christmas Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Hello - TMS #650

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Spring officially arrived awhile ago and has shown a few signs of life in my area.  Crocuses and daffodils are blooming... then we got snow! :D

But I think my card feels like spring even if the weather doesn't. :)

My paper (and my image was just a square cut from the paper) is Simple Stories Simple Vintage Botanicals.  My sentiment is from Hero Arts Color Layering For You Flowers. I stamped it in VersaFine Claire Nocturne and clear heat embossed it. I put a square of fun foam behind the image to give it a little dimension, too.

Here's our fun sketch...

CAS thank you - TMS #649

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Some days I'm not sure what kind of card maker I am.  I love lots of layers and embellishments, but I also love clean and simple.  Most of my creations are somewhere in between, but this one is CAS.

Pretty simple... the flower is Sunny Studio Hawaiian Hibiscus, the polka dot DP is from my scrap box cut out with Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles, and my sentiment is from The Project Bin Just Sayin' cut out with a stitched banner die.

Here's our sketch for the week...

Snowman wishes - TMS #648

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  This week we've got a great sketch by Andrea.  Sadly, this is her last week on the DT.  We're so sorry to see her go!  (Click on her name to go give her some love and tell her you'll miss her!)  Andrea, you've been a wonderful teamie and inspiration!!

Here's my card with her sketch. I've got a cute snowman wishing you a Merry Christmas...

My snowman was in my box of printed digi stamps.  I know he's been waiting awhile because it's been over 2 yrs since I've had a printer that would print cardstock. ;/    He's from Spyder's Other Corner.  I colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers,  The DP frame around him is AC Jolly.  (I cut the frame with fun foam, too, to give a bit of dimension.)  My back panel is embossed with Darice Snowflake Swirl.  My sentiment is from Raisin Boat Formal Phrases and cut out with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.

Here's the Andrea's awesome sketch...

Have a cool Christmas - TMS #647

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card.  Yes, I'm still making Christmas cards even though I've sent very few the last couple of years.  :)

My images and sentiment are from MFT Cool Christmas Stamp and Dies.  I colored them with my Spectrum Noir Markers.  The snowflakes in the sky are from Raisin Boat Merry Nature.  Not sure where the paper is from.  I had a few pads with just a few left (that I liked), so I added them to my scrap box. ;)

Here's our fun sketch...

Merry Christmas - SCC #134

It's the first of March and time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge!!  Our theme this month is "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"!

I don't often create a card with Santa, so I had to look hard for something to use.  I found a pad with this paper and some matching stickers, so here he is...

My paper is the Paper Studio Happy Hootin' Holidays along with the Santa and sentiment stickers.  My snowflakes are both punches.  I made this slimline to the sentiment would fit with the image.  My slimline dies are Pink & Main.

Please come join us at Sparkles Christmas Challenge as we create Christmas cards all year long!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Welcome baby boy - TMS #646

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  In case you were wondering from the title if there's a baby boy in my future... no, there is not.  No more kids for me, and no grandkids on the way.

This was a special card to make, though.  Our church connected with a crisis pregnancy center and two of our adult Sunday School classes joined together to have a baby shower for 2 young women who are in difficult circumstances but who chose life for their babies.  I made this card for the young women expecting a boy.  What a blessing to help these young ladies and the new life growing inside them and to see how touched and appreciative they were!

My paper is AC My Baby (boy version), my sentiment is Pebbles New Addition Boy stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, and the BG on the sentiment is Neat & Tangled All the Sprinkles stamped with VersaMagic Aegean Blue.  Both were clear heat embossed.  The sentiment was cut out with Die-versions Stitched Circles.

Here's the sketch...

We lose/find ourselves in books - TMS #645

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card then the story behind it...

I've tried to spend a few hours the last few weekends trying to go through the boxes in my craft room and purge and organize and purge and toss and purge and...! I think you get the idea that I need to purge.  I'm not buying new things because I really do have a stash that could last forever.  But then... I don't remember what email came that showcased Altenew's Tall Tale stamp set, but I could not resist.  I know this will get lots and lots and lots of use, so I could justify the purchase of the stamp and die bundle. LOL

My paper is Papertrey Ink Postage.  As mentioned, the image and sentiment are from Altenew Tall Tale.  I heat embossed them and colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers. Most of the panels are cut with Kat Scrappiness Wonky Stitched Rectangles.

Here's our great sketch created by Andrea...
