with sympathy - Stamping Pals #14

I'm excited today to be a featured guest designer at StampingPals Challenges!!  I entered in challenge #12 and won and was invited to be a guest in StampingPals Challenge #14 (<-- Click on the name to visit the challenge.  And you can check out my winning card here.)

It's already April 1 in Australia.  How cool is that?!? :)

Here's my card then I'll share the sketch...

I do not enjoy needing to make sympathy cards, but I do enjoy making them because of the opportunity to be a comfort and hopefully help bring a smile through the tears.

For this card, my Kraft panel is dry embossed with CB Swiss Dots.  My paper is the Paper Studio Country Road.  I used Die-versions Stitched Circles and embossed that with Swiss Dots, as well.  My sentiment is from Raisin Boat's Stunning Silhouettes and cut with a fishtail banner from Spellbinders Lacey Pennants.  The chipboard butterfly is from my stash.  It's not noticeable in the pic, but I used my Wink of Stella glitter pen on the butterfly.  It gives a nice shimmer IRL.

Here's the sketch for this challenge...

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you come over and play along at StampingPals!!

Floral thank you - TMS #598

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card for this week's challenge...

My main panel with the banner on it was in my scrap box ready and waiting and perfect for this sketch!  The other piece was a scrap, too.  My flower is TH Small Tattered Flowers.  I cannot find the pgk of my sentiment die, so I don't know where it came from.

Here's our sketch for the week...

Blossoming with love and friendship - TMS #596

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Time for another sketch and another card...

My paper is Simple Stories Simple Vintage Botanicals.  (I love this paper pad and have used it a lot and am so sad it's almost gone!!)  My banners are Kaisercraft Nesting Pennants. My sentiment is a MHKDesigns digital stamp.  (I think the shop is closed.  This is another printed-and-waiting item.)  It was printed on vellum.  (I thought I hid the adhesive better.  Adhering vellum is such a challenge!)  I cut it out with Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Circles. And it's finished off with a little baker's twine bow.

Here's our sketch...

The DT did a great job with this sketch and I can't wait to see your creation, too!!

Merry Christmas - TMS #595

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I'm on another design team where I make a Christmas card every month (check out this month's here), but that's not enough, so I made one for this challenge today. :)

My image is clipart from Creative Fabrica.  I realized I should have die cut it with the car higher so some of it wasn't covered with the sentiment, but once it was cut, it was too late. :/   My paper is the Paper Studio Pine St. Square.  My snowflakes are Sweet n Sassy Stamps Small Snowflakes Dies.  My sentiment is Raisin Boat.

Here's our sketch...

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Noel - SCC #122

March already!!  But the 1st means it's time for another Sparkles Christmas Challenge!  This month, our theme is CAS... clean and simple.  (I will admit this style is not easy for me.  I always think it needs a little bit more. LOL)

Here's a couple of definitions I found that describe CAS in case you struggle, too...

--uncluttered with a lot of open areasone main image that is the focus of the cardlimited embellishments and layers

--a card with lots of “white space”, very little or no blingsimple images and usually one layer

Here's my card...

Mine does have more than one layer because I dry embossed a piece of white CS with Darice Crackle.  (I love this EF!!)  My Noel is Xcut Noel Mini Die.  I cut a few extra and used the snowflakes from the center of the "O."

Simple and easy but still very pretty.  As all cards, it looks better IRL. :)

Please come play along with us!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day

many thanks - TMS #594

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my card that I hope will inspire you to play along in this week's challenge...

My DP is MME Lost & Found Portobello Road.  My image and butterflies are from Let's Go Shop - Winnie Fruit Punch from Polkadoodles.  My tiny sentiment is another of the Hero Arts Petite Messages rubber stamps like I used on last week's card.  I used Kat Scrapinness Wonky Stitched Rectangles and Die-Versions Stitched Circles.

Here's our first new sketch of the year!  This will be a great one because you can keep it CAS or embellish to your heart's content!

Just a note to say hello

Lately, all my cards have been made for my Design Teams, because I needed a specific card, or because someone requested a specific card made.  This evening, I was happy to have the time and energy to just play! :)

I recently received some extra money and splurged on a stamp and die set that I have been wishing for ever since I first saw it.  Here's the card I made with it...

When I first saw layering stamps a few years ago, I thought they were so neat!  I did get a couple of sets of layered flowers... and was so frustrated and disappointed in most of my attempts.   It's tough to get them perfect!!!   I saw a card maker on YouTube use a grouped layering stamp and die set.  Wow!!  I wanted these!  Like I said, I splurged and got Peony Memories Cardmaking stamps set and matching dies from the Ton.  Love them already!!
I embossed a white panel with the Paper Studio Script EF.  I stamped the flowers with Catherine Pooler Fiesta Blue, All that Jazz, and Suede Shoes.  My sentiment is from this set, too (it has a bunch!!), stamped with VersaFine Black Onyx, and cut out with a fishtail banner from Spellbinders Lacey Pennants.

I'm submitting this card to these challenges...

As you Like It - do you prefer rubber, clear or digi and why -- I prefer clear stamps because I love the clean, clear way they stamp. And they take up less space, so there's room for more! ;)
Aud Sentiments #268 - anything goes + sentiment
StampingPals Challenge #12 - favourite technique  - I love dry embossing!!!
The Flower Challenge #53 - use your latest stamps and dies - just got this set in the mail this week :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

thinking of you - TMS #593

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I have a fun card (IMHO) for you today...

Isn't this little teacup just the cutest?!?  It is a sticker from Doodlebug Designs.  My paper is Heidi Grace "Daydream."  My sentiment is a Hero Arts Petite Messages rubber stamp.  My dies are Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics, Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail dies, and Die-Versions Stitched Circles.

This week is our last DT favorite sketch from 2020, so next week, we'll start with all new sketches!  This week's sketch is Tammy's favorite...

Feel better - TMS #592

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

This card uses a stamp set that I’ve not used in a very, very, very long time!  I’m really trying to use what I have and not buy more craft supplies (though it’s hard!!), so I’m going through my stash (much of which is still in boxes) and finding forgotten gems.  Here’s one...

This stamp set is JustRite Chicken Soup which matches and is cut out with Spellbinders Labels Four.  My DP is Papertrey Ink “Postmarks.”  My tic-tac-toe is MFT Die-namics Stitched RicRac.  With the large dots, I left off the tiny circles.

Here’s the sketch...  (This is Patti’s favorite.)

We’re a perfect fit -TMS #591

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

I hope this post is ok.  My laptop died, so I’m trying to do this on my phone.  We’ll see how it goes.

I got the pic here, so that’s half the battle! LOL

My paper is CTMH.  My image and sentiment are PaperTrey Ink “Perfect Fit” stamped with Catherine Pooler “Be Mine.”  The sentiment is cut with KatScrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners. I used an EK Success border punch.

My intent was to make a Valentine for my husband, but this ended up really girly, so I've got time to try again with more masculine paper.

Here’s our sketch for the week...  this one is Melissa’s favorite from 2020...

In the meadow - SCC #121

Happy February to you!  It is time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge!!  Our theme is "Snowman/men" so here are my men... :)

My image is from my stash of printed images.  It is a digital stamp from "In the Meadow Snowmen" from From the Heart Stamps (which has been closed a loooong time!)  It's colored with my Spectrum Noir markers, and cut out with Unbranded Stitched Banners from Cheapo Dies.  It is adhered to a glittery DCWV paper.  A knotted organza ribbon finished it off.

Time's flying... less than 11 months 'til Christmas, so come play along and add to your stash of cards for 2021.  :D

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Birthday wishes - TMS #590

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here's my quick and easy, but still nice, birthday card...

My paper is from my scrap box.  (I'm really, really trying to use what I have rather than buying more even though buying new paper is so much fun!!! LOL)  My sentiment is from Raisin Boat's You Said It! and is heat embossed.  My flower is Tim Holtz Small Tattered Flowers, and the brad is from my stash.

This week, we are revisiting Margreet's favorite from last year.  Sometimes I take a little (or a lot of) poetic license with the sketches, but I followed this one very closely...

My paper is DCWV Pastel Patterns.  My image is from iralamijashop.  My sentiment is Raisin Boat You Said It!  The button is PaperTrey Ink Buttoned Up #1 die tied with a bit of twine.  I also used Pink & Main Layered Slim Line Dies.

Wishing you comfort - TMS #588

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  We're still working of favorites of 2019 and this week it's mine.  This was sketch #563 on July 14.

Unfortunately, I've needed several sympathy cards recently so I made one with this sketch...

The paper from MME Portobello Road is a soft teal and looks much better IRL.  My rose is Die-namites Rosy Rose.  The sentiment is from JustRite Sympathy Handwritten Sentiments.

I took some poetic license with the sketch, as you can see...  (If you want to see my previous card with this sketch, click *here*)

Hibiscus thank you - TMS #587

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  We had a lot of wonderful entries in our Annual Anything Goes challenge!!  Thank you for playing!!

I had hoped to have extra time in my craft room over the holidays, but... nope, did not happen.  I do need several thank you cards, so I popped in and put one together pretty quickly...  but didn't like it, so I made another... this one.

My DP is Simple Stories Simple Vintage Botanicals.  My flower is Sunny Studio Hawaiian Hibiscus.  I have to admit that I had this stamp/die in mind when I created this sketch last year.  I stamped the flower with Catherine Pooler Coral Cabana, Samba, and Rockin' Red.  I cut the leaves from a scrap using a leaf from TH Small Tattered Flowers. My sentiment was sitting on my desk just waiting to be used. ;)

Here's our sketch for the week.  [You don't have to use hibiscus. ;) ]   We are revisiting the DT's favorite sketches from last year.  Andrea's choice is first up...

Have a Sweet Christmas - SCC #120

Happy New Year!!!  Only 51 weeks until Christmas!! LOL

At Sparkles Christmas Challenge, we play all year long to try to be ready when Christmas comes around.  2020 was a bit of a challenge in many ways, one of which was my card making, so I'm hoping to do better this year.  So here is my first card of 2021...

Our theme this month is Holiday/Christmas Treats, so I've got a gingerbread house...

If you think the shape looks, odd, it's because it is partially open in the pic.  Here's the inside...

My image and sentiment were in my printed-and-waiting-to-be-used box, so I'm not completely sure, but I think they are Doodle Pantry.

We'd love to have you start your cards and come play along with is at Sparkles Christmas Challenge

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

The most wonderful time of the year - TMS #586

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Only 3 days 'til CHRISTmas!!!  :)   This is our Annual Anything Goes challenge!  No sketch, no limits.  And this challenge goes for 2 weeks, so you've got time to play even at this busy season.  Maybe even with some new toys you find under your tree.  ;)

I have a fun project to show you... embossed ornaments!  What do you think?  Take a look and then I'll explain how to do it.

"the most wonderful time of the year"

"in this house we laugh play & we jingle all the way"
(I must have moved on this one.  It didn't emboss as clearly as the others.)

"Don't get your tinsel in a tangle"

My sentiments are SumMore Fun Tangled Tinsel.  I used VersaMark, white embossing powder, and ribbon from my stash.

To do this, use an anti-static tool or bag on the ornament.  Ink the stamp with VersaMark, hold it in the palm of your hand (curving it slightly in your hand), and firmly press the ornament into the stamp.  Pour the embossing powder on and gently heat emboss.  Take your time, being sure to keep the gun moving.  Add a bow and enjoy!

I wish you a very Merry Christmas!!  See you in 2021!

Rustic Christmas - TMS #585

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I really should be at the point of mailing my Christmas cards rather than still making them, but... this is 2020!  Enough said.

After putting this all together, I realized I had cut the squares in a way that makes them all blend together rather than show distinctly, bit I didn't have time to fix it.  It's ok IRL, but not so great in this pic. :/

My paper is the Paper Studio Pine St Square. I love the rustic look of this!!

My sentiment is Raisin Boat Formal Phrases.  My tiny snowflakes are a little punch that I got when I first started paper crafting in 2005!

Here's our fun sketch...
