I used a couple of pieces of paper from my scrap box, an old snowflake punch, SSS Build a Snowman stamp and die set, distress inks (Not sure why the shading around the snowman looks so purple! LOL), CottageCutz Double Stitched Ovals, and Poppystamps Landscapes die.

Faith, Hope, Fight, Love - TMS #627

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  And this is October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so I chose that theme for my card...

I'd been wanting to use this die and when I saw this week's sketch, I knew it would be perfect to feature it.   This is Die-versions Whispers Awareness Square.  I did cut several layers of the pink and put a black layer on the bottom to give some dimension since popping up a die with narrow cuts is always a challenge.  My paper is Colorbok Love.  

Here's the sketch...  (You can see by my use of this die that the elements/shapes are always open to interpretation.  We just need to be able to recognize the sketch.)

A piece of already embossed paper was in my scrap box as was the piece behind the sentiment.  My flowers are TH Small Tattered Flowers.  The sentiment is from a set of unbranded words that I got many, many years ago.

Christmas Blessings - SSC #129

 It's time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge!  Our theme this month is "flora and/or fauna."  That's a general term  for all plants and animals, so that leaves lots of options for you to play along this month! 

I went with both...

My image and sentiment are Sweet n Sassy Stamps Christmas Joy and colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.  The DP is half used piece that was in my scrap pile.  I added the Concord & 9th Beautiful Branches for some dimension.

Love you to pieces - TMS #624

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I've got a fun card to show you, and I can guarantee that you'll be seeing this stamp set more...

My paper is Bo Bunny Early Bird.  My image and sentiment are from The Project Bin Spencer's Set.  I used my trimmer for the DP and Die-versions Stitched Circles to cut out the sentiment.  I used my Wink of Stella pen on the heart, so it has a bit of shimmer though it just looks wet in the pic.

Snowflake Christmas - TMS #623

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Still working on Christmas cards...

I used a piece of shiny paper from my scrap box for my snowflakes.  (See the close up below.)  I used Sweet N Sassy Stamps Small Snowflakes die.  My sentiment is from Raisin Boat "Merry Nature" and it's heat embossed and cut out with Spellbinders Petite Ovals.

baby - TMS #622

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

I recently got some stamps from The Project Bin and thought this sketch was perfect to try out one of them.  My paper is AC My Baby, and the sentiment is from The Project Bin "Defined."  ((All of their stamps are on sale right now!))  I used a small punch and layered several circles to give the corner element some dimension.  Easy peasy!

A full stocking - SCC #128

It's September!!!  Fall is on it's way, then.... Christmas!!  We celebrate (by that I mean work on our cards) all year at Sparkles Christmas Challenge, so we're ready when Christmas comes! :)  

This month's theme is "Stockings"!  And here's my card...

This is a Doodle Pantry (a long closed digi store) image.  I can see that I need to replace some of my markers.  They are not blending well at all, but if you squint, it looks all good.  LOL

My paper is Echo Park Christmas.  My panels are cut with Kat Scrappiness Wavy Wonky Stitched Rectangles.  My sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Build A Snowman.

This card features paper from Echo Park Christmas. My sentiment is Pink and Main Merry Christmas and Sweet n Sassy Christmas Tags.  My snowflake is Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  

The sketch this week is one of mine, and I created it based on this card that I sent to my mother for Mother's Day...

This paper is Heidi Grace Daydream.  "Mother" is Sweet n Sassy Script Word Mother die.  The sentiment is from Raisin Boat Marvelous Mom.

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I went through and organized my card stash recently and realized that I have very few masculine birthday cards, so that's what I made this week...

Wedding day wishes - TMS #619

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches! I'm been making lots of sympathy cards lately, but this one is a happy card! :)

I needed a card for a wedding, and had made one that was very traditional.  Then I decided I wanted to make one a little less so, and this is it. 

I embossed my background with Darice Crackle.  My flower is Technique Tuesday Cosmos.  My paper was from my scrap box, and the green twine was from my stash.  My sentiment is Papertrey Ink Wedding Mini Stamp Set and cut out with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banners.

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I hope it doesn't make you sad to see the many sympathy cards I'm making.  These are tough, but I always want them to be an encouragement to the recipient. I've sent several and am trying to create some to have a few on hand.

This was fun to make!  Because of the bright paper, I let my card base be the background.  My DP is Colorbok Light Bright.  My sentiment from Jillibean Pizza was in my "extras" box along with the TH Small Tattered Flowers.  I added an adhesive dot to the center.  All my circles are cut with Die-versions Stitched Circles.

Joy to the World - SCC #127

 Good morning!  It is August 1, and that means it is time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge! 

This month, I got to choose the theme and I chose, "Christmas Music."  I love Christmas music!  [Shh!  Don't tell anyone, but you might hear it any time of year in my house... :) ]

My paper is the Paper Studio Pine St. Square.  Dies used are Memory Box Virtuoso Music, Die-versions Nativity Border. and Spellbinders Lacey Pennants.   My sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Nativity Sentiments.

My flowers and butterflies are Sizzix/Hero Arts Butterflies #3.  They are colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.  My sentiment is Raisin Boat You Said It!  I also used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics.  (I use that set pretty much on every card!)  I inked the edges with Hero Arts Navy.

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

This week, we've got such a versatile sketch!!   It can be CAS or fancy.  Mine is more on the CAS side.  I started with a black card base.  My image (and sentiment) are from MHKDesigns and are colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I cut the sentiment with Spellbinders Petite Ovals, framed it, adhered it to the flower panel and cut them with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics.

Dad - the man, the myth, the legend - TMS #613

 Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Here is this week's card...

I had a plan for this card, but when I got to my craft table, another thought came to me, so I tried it, and this is the result.  I am not a mixed media or watercolor person, nor do I try a lot of special techniques, but when I saw my square TH distress "stormy sky" ink pad, I wondered if I could make the squares of the sketch with it.  I just stamped the whole pad on my card base.  It worked.  So then I needed another.  I used my Hero Arts Navy cube.  It's tiny, so I had to make the square.  I like the non-perfection of it all.   My sentiment is The Project Bin Classic Man.  I like this because the inside could say happy birthday, happy father's day, or any other congratulatory message.  The sentiment and frame are cut using Spellbinders Standard Squares. 

If I try my other idea, I'll be sure to share it, too.  :)

Snowflakes... - SCC #126

 Happy Canada Day!  I cannot wait until the border is open so I can go visit my parents and they can come visit me!! 

On that note, I've got a Christmas card!  LOL  It's time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge #126 with a theme of "snowflakes (more than one)" so get your chill on and show us some snowflakes! 

Here's my card...

I embossed white cardstock with Darice Dot Background and put it on the card base without a frame.  I think the different texture of the embossing is frame enough.  My snowflakes are cut from a scrap piece of paper.  They are Spellbinders Die-Delites Snowflakes.  My sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Build-A-Snowman.  White is so hard to photograph well, but I assure you this is very pretty IRL!
